Background / History
False Accusation and Transmigration
The original Lin Feng was a university student accused by Sun Tingting of groping her in a library. His counselor, Li Jing, persuaded him to write a statement of remorse by promising that the matter would remain within the school. Instead, the statement became the central evidence used against him. The original owner died during Zhang Qian’s interrogation, after which a new soul took control of his body and bound to the Deathsworn Summoning System 1.
Transferred to Cell 107, Lin Feng was assigned the sleeping place beside the toilet and forced to clean it. Scar, Skinny Monkey, and Iron Head deprived him of food, assaulted him, and subjected him to repeated humiliation. Unable to overcome them physically, he relied on daily summons to establish contact with the outside world 2 6 14 15.
Uncovering the Frame-Up
Wang Wu’s reports connected Sun Tingting’s graduate recommendation to her uncle, Vice President Zhang, and Li Jing. Lin Feng then summoned the thief Zhao Si and ordered him to plant a listening device in Sun Tingting’s dormitory 10.
Through the listening link, Lin Feng heard Sun Tingting admit that he had never touched her. Further conversations revealed that her uncle had intervened and that Li Jing had helped refine her story and obtain his written confession. Lin Feng continued gathering details rather than immediately revealing what he knew 13 14 15.
Taking Control of Cell 107
Zheng Qi’s arrival ended Lin Feng’s immediate helplessness. Acting through their mental connection, the violent offender attacked Scar, Skinny Monkey, and Iron Head. Lin Feng subsequently occupied Scar’s former sleeping place, and the other prisoners stopped stealing his food or openly harassing him 16 17.
Qian Er reinforced this change by stabbing Skinny Monkey when he tried to grab Lin Feng’s collar. When Scar later challenged Lin Feng in the absence of both protectors, Lin Feng revealed detailed knowledge of Scar’s wife and daughter and forced him to kowtow. Scar thereafter served as his intermediary and organizer within the cell 18 24 27.
Expanding His Influence
Outside funds improved Lin Feng’s food, clothing, and hygiene, while rumors recast him as a powerful figure with an influential family. He used Scar to collect information from other prisoners, gradually making Cell 107 an informal intelligence hub 21 27 30.
The summoning of prison guard Wang Lei gave Lin Feng access to the detention center’s internal affairs. He directed investigations into Deputy Supervisor Zhao Jianguo, whose concealed favors became leverage for Wang Lei. Zhao subsequently arranged Lin Feng’s transfer to a comfortable private room disguised as an old storage room, complete with a laptop, phone, and unrestricted internet access 32 36 38.
Trial and Public Exposure
Lin Feng denied the charge at trial and explained that Li Jing had pressured him to write the statement. Presiding Judge He Jing repeatedly interrupted the defense and obstructed its efforts to challenge the prosecution. Lin Feng accused her of having already decided the verdict, prompting her to order him removed from the courtroom. Afterward, he instructed Zhou Wenyuan to appeal and investigate the judge’s dealings with Zhang Qian 43 44 45.
Lin Feng then secretly arranged the release of the dormitory recording exposing Sun Tingting’s fabrication. When she claimed it was AI-generated, hacker K released three further recordings revealing her collusion with Zhang Qian and attempts to manipulate the trial. As public pressure turned toward the authorities, Lin Feng ordered Zhou Wenyuan to protect the evidence’s source and allow the uproar to continue 47 49.
Appearance
- Build and condition: His body is described as somewhat frail; poor food and sustained abuse leave him weakened and painfully thin before his living conditions improve 27.
- Face: During the worst period of detention, he has a pale complexion, bloodshot or sunken eyes, and pronounced dark circles from sleeplessness 12 13.
- Forehead wound: A wound repeatedly reopened by abuse later appears as a conspicuous scar at his temple 15 19 22.
- Clothing: He initially wears detention-issued clothing, including a blue prison uniform; later, outside funds allow him to obtain clean replacement underwear and better necessities 2 21 22 24.
- Bearing: His habitual lowered head and withdrawn posture conceal close observation. After gaining control of the cell, his movements become notably calm and unhurried 4 17 29.
Personality
Lin Feng’s apparent submission is largely deliberate. He suppresses anger, adopts the original owner’s timid manner, and studies his opponents while allowing them to underestimate him. He repeatedly rejects impulsive retaliation because it would sacrifice the intelligence network on which his longer-term plans depend 4 8 10.
His resourcefulness develops alongside his hatred. Initially disappointed to summon a beggar rather than a fighter, he recognizes Wang Wu’s value as an inconspicuous observer. He similarly puts sanitation workers, delivery riders, a fraudster, and a prison guard to work according to their particular access and skills 3 6 17 32.
He is willing to use violence, blackmail, and material rewards to secure obedience. His threat against Scar’s family and the subsequent financial assistance routed through Scar’s wife combine intimidation with benefits. Sharing purchases with cellmates is explicitly presented as a method of managing subordinates rather than simple generosity 21 24 25 27.
His concern for the original owner’s parents contrasts with this ruthlessness. He refuses to draw on their money and reassures them during their visit. He also becomes cynical about public opinion, observing that online crowds respond more readily to dramatic reversals than to truth 25 29 47.
Abilities & Skills
Deathsworn Summoning System
- Daily summons: The summoning opportunity refreshes at midnight and is activated through a mental command 3 6 15.
- Random results: Lin Feng cannot reliably obtain the occupation or combat strength he wants; early summons frequently provide ordinary workers rather than powerful protectors 3 6 10.
- Absolute loyalty: Displayed deathsworn profiles list 100% loyalty, with several explicitly describing it as absolute 3 10 16 17 32.
- Assigned identities: Summoned agents possess occupations, locations, and social circumstances. Zheng Qi’s identity places him on a transfer route into the detention center rather than directly materializing him beside Lin Feng 3 16.
- Situational limits: An agent’s usefulness depends on access and expertise. His early outside observers cannot immediately protect him from abuse inside Cell 107 6 8 15.
Mental Links and Remote Coordination
- Receives information about deathsworn identities, locations, and conditions through mental connections 3 4.
- Issues silent instructions across physical distance, including surveillance assignments and coordinated investigations 6 10 32.
- Receives listening-link information and information from Wang Lei’s perspective while remaining inside his cell 13 36.
- Transfers targets and hostile intent to Zheng Qi without needing spoken instructions 16.
- Does not gain automatic knowledge of outside events: he remains unaware of the public-opinion campaign surrounding his approaching trial 41.
Intelligence Gathering and Coercion
- Uses inconspicuous workers to monitor routines, conversations, deliveries, and university contacts 3 6.
- Employs covert infiltration and electronic surveillance to obtain admissions from Sun Tingting 10 13 14.
- Converts personal information into leverage, notably against Scar and Zhao Jianguo 24 32 36.
- Builds a second information network among detainees through Scar 30.
- Coordinates legal action with selective public disclosure while protecting the source of incriminating recordings 45 47 49.

Trivia
- Claims that Lin Feng is a crime boss’s heir or a senior official’s illegitimate son originate as prisoner rumors, not established facts. His parents are factory workers from an ordinary small northern city 21 40.
- Despite his intimidating reputation, his initial rise rests on summoned agents, information, and money—not a documented increase in his own physical fighting ability 16 18 21 24.
