Just as Karl's expression changed drastically and his arm slightly retracted, Medic A seemed to sense the intense fluctuation in his emotions. A cold glint flashed in his calm eyes!

Karl was given no chance to react!

The Medic A, who seemed about to administer a sedative, suddenly flicked his wrist! The syringe was flung away like a projectile! At the same time, his other hand, which had been hanging by his side, shot out like a venomous snake, its five fingers forming claws, whistling through the air, aiming straight for Karl's throat! The speed was so fast that only a blur remained!

This isn't the action of medical personnel! This is standard close-quarters combat technique!

"You—!" Karl's exclamation was cut short by a hand as strong as an iron clamp gripping his throat! The immense force instantly cut off his breath and voice! His eyes bulged, and his hands instinctively tried to pry open the hand gripping his throat, but the other's strength was astonishing; the fingers were like cast iron, unyielding!

A feeling of suffocation, accompanied by immense fear, overwhelmed him instantly! He struggled in vain, kicking his legs wildly and slamming them against the carriage wall with dull thuds.

Almost at the same time!

The young agent sitting next to Karl, who had just been injected with a sedative, was now leaning against the carriage wall, his eyes glazed and his body relaxed. The moment Karl was attacked, Medic B also moved! Gone was his peaceful, caring demeanor; his face instantly hardened with a chilling murderous intent! He moved like a leopard, leaping from the folding chair and pouncing on the young agent! A syringe, its needle gleaming coldly, appeared in his hand, and he plunged it viciously into the exposed vein in the young agent's neck!

The young detective didn't even understand what was happening. He only felt a sharp pain in his neck, followed by a rush of cold liquid. Everything went black, and without uttering a sound, his body went limp and he lost all sensation.

Inside the carriage, the cramped space instantly transformed into a gladiatorial cage for a life-or-death struggle!

Karl was pinned against the carriage wall with a chokehold by Medic A. His vision blurred, his lungs burned, and his consciousness began to fade. He struggled desperately, trying to knee the other man, but Medic A seemed to feel no pain, calmly adjusting the pressure to ensure he was incapacitated without being killed instantly.

After dealing with the young agent, Medic B immediately turned and lunged at the driver's partition where the car was moving—he had to make sure the driver was also under control, or at least unaware of what was happening behind him.

However, just as Medic B's hand was about to touch the doorknob of the partition—

"Bang!"

A muffled thud! Not from inside the vehicle, but from outside! Was it another ambulance? A collision?

Immediately afterwards, the ambulance they were in slammed on the brakes! The immense inertia threw everyone inside forward involuntarily! The stretcher, fixed to the floor, screeched loudly!

The Medic A, who was choking Karl, was also jolted by the sudden stop, and her grip loosened slightly.

It's this tiny bit!

Karl's survival instinct kicked in! Taking advantage of that moment of weakness, he used his last bit of strength to jerk his head back and then slam it forward! A very poorly executed headbutt smashed into Medic A's face!

Medic A clearly hadn't expected Karl to be able to fight back while suffocating, and instinctively turned her head to dodge. Taking advantage of this, Karl gained a precious moment of breathing space from his choked throat. He opened his mouth wide and greedily inhaled a mouthful of air tinged with the smell of blood, while simultaneously thrusting his right knee upward with all his might!

"Ugh!" Medic A groaned, feeling the blow to the lower abdomen, and the hand gripping Karl's throat finally loosened.

Karl collapsed to the ground, coughing and gagging violently, tears and snot streaming down his face, but a sliver of consciousness returned. He scrambled to the back of the carriage, his eyes filled with terror as he looked at Medic A and Medic B, who was turning away from the driver's cab.

These two had completely dropped their pretense. They stood in the swaying carriage, their faces expressionless, only filled with chilling murderous intent. Medic A rubbed her lower abdomen, which had been bumped, her eyes fixed on a lamb to the slaughter. Medic B pulled out a... stun gun from her waist. Blue arcs of electricity crackled at the tip, looking particularly terrifying in the dim carriage lights.

They are not paramedics! They are imposters! They are assassins! They are Lin Feng's men!

A profound despair and realization washed over Karl like a bucket of ice water, chilling him to the bone. He looked at the unconscious young agent, at Tony lying on the stretcher, his life hanging in the balance, and then at the two empty syringes lying on the carriage floor, their needles still gleaming coldly... What had just been injected into the young agent was definitely not a sedative! It was an anesthetic, or something even more terrifying!

And I... I almost got injected too!

"You... are Lin Feng's men?" Karl asked hoarsely, his voice strained as he leaned against the cold carriage wall, his eyes filled with anger, fear, and disbelief.

Medic A and Medic B did not answer. They exchanged a glance, seemingly assessing whether to subdue Karl immediately or deal with the driver and the situation outside first.

Just then, footsteps sounded outside the carriage, and... the sound of metal scraping? It sounded like someone was trying to open the rear door?

Medic B's face turned cold. Without further hesitation, she grabbed the buzzing stun gun and lunged at Karl with ghostly speed!

Karl's pupils contracted; he had nowhere to hide! Instinctively, he raised his arm to block, closed his eyes, and braced himself for the electric shock that could instantly incapacitate someone.

"Laugh--!"

A sharp, muscle-cracking electric shock swept by! But the expected excruciating pain and numbness did not come.

Karl opened his eyes in astonishment.

The Medic B, who had been lunging into the air, froze in shock, the stun gun falling to the floor of the carriage. His face contorted with extreme pain and horror as he slowly lowered his head to look at his chest—

There, seemingly out of nowhere, appeared a small, still slightly trembling tranquilizer dart! The needle was deeply embedded in his pectoral muscle, and the medication inside was being rapidly injected by the automatic propeller!

Immediately afterwards, the small observation window on the side of the carriage shattered with a crash! Another tranquilizer dart, like a poisonous wasp, shot towards Medic A, who was about to take action!

Medic A reacted extremely quickly, suddenly turning to the side. The tranquilizer dart grazed his shoulder and embedded itself in the interior wall of the carriage. However, his dodge also created an opening.

"Bang!"

The rear door of the carriage was suddenly pulled open from the outside! A cold night wind rushed in! A figure dressed in a black combat uniform, his face painted with camouflage, and his eyes as cold as knives, darted in like a cheetah! He held a silenced pistol in his hand, and the muzzle instantly locked onto Medic A, who had just dodged a tranquilizer dart and was still not quite back to his feet!

"Don't move." The intruder's voice was low and hoarse, carrying an undeniable aura of death.

The Medic A, froze, slowly raising his hands. He knew that if he made the slightest movement, the next bullet would pierce his head.

Inside the carriage, the situation reversed again in an instant!

Karl leaned against the carriage wall, staring dumbfounded at the sudden scene. He looked at the men in black who had burst in, at the unconscious Medic B on the ground, at Medic A with a gun pointed at him, then at the vague outline of another ambulance that seemed to have crashed and stopped beside him, and at several black figures moving rapidly in the darkness outside the carriage door...

His mind was in complete chaos.

Who are these people? Another group of Lin Feng's men? A double-cross? Or... a case of the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind?

No one gave him an answer.

The man in black struck Medic A hard on the back of the neck with the butt of his gun. Medic A's body went limp, and he collapsed to the ground unconscious.

Then, the man in black looked at the still-shaken Karl, his gaze lingering on his face for a moment without any emotion. He bent down, rummaged through the first-aid kit, found another syringe, and drew up some kind of medicine.

He walked up to Karl.

Karl shrank back in terror, but there was only the carriage wall behind him, and he had nowhere to retreat.

"What... what do you want to do?" Karl's voice trembled.

The man in black didn't answer, but deftly grabbed Karl's arm, disinfected it, and then inserted the needle into his vein.

The cool medicine rushed into my veins.

Karl's vision went black; his last memory was of the man in black's expressionless eyes and the thick, all-consuming darkness outside the window.

Then, all fell silent.
