After returning home, Logo shut himself in his room and forbade anyone from entering. He planned to use the Eye of Insight to open the Aslant Civilization's high-dimensional information space.
Seeing this, Natali, the head maid who had raised him, had no idea what was going on. She hurriedly asked Lunbate, "What's wrong with the young master? He was fine at breakfast this morning, so why did he shut himself in his room as soon as he got back? Is he feeling unwell? Should we fetch a doctor to examine him?"
"We should fetch a doctor!" Lunbate nodded solemnly, then added, "But it should be a psychiatrist! The young master needs counseling!"
"A psychiatrist?" Natali was puzzled.
Lunbate sighed. "During knight training today, Lord Beifu praised Young Master Xisi in front of everyone. He said Xisi would reach Transcendent Rank and become a full-fledged knight in a month at most!"
"What?" the head maid exclaimed. She knew what that meant.
The Gendaya Royal Court Succession Law explicitly stipulated that the first direct descendant among the heirs to reach Transcendent Rank would automatically become the family's first in line of succession.
Not even the family head could interfere with that.
With the position of head of the Campbell Family currently vacant, the first in line was certain to become the next family head.
No wonder Logo had shut himself in his room as soon as he got back.
"The young master has such a hard life." The head maid sighed.
Lunbate nodded, picked up the thread, and cursed, "It's all because of the Morning Light Knights. If not for them, nothing would have happened to the family head and our master, and the young master's position as first heir wouldn't have been shaken. Damn the Dawn Empire..."
"So this is the high-dimensional information space?"
Logo stared at the brilliant river of stars before him, somewhat bewildered!
Sure, being surrounded by stars looks impressive, but what am I supposed to do next?
Is there an instruction manual?
"And what's with these two lines?" Logo looked down at the two lines, one black and one gold, wrapped around his wrists, utterly puzzled.
He gave one of them an experimental tug. A boom exploded in his ears, and then his perspective shifted.
The river of stars vanished. In its place were slowly flowing crimson magma and a terrifying giant beast with a savage appearance.
It had eight pitch-black armored legs, each dozens of meters long and covered in sharp barbs.
Its four pairs of eerie green eyes were neatly aligned. Two pairs were closed, and two were open.
One of its open eyes was staring straight at him.
"Dragon-Hunting Spider!!"
Logo was startled. He immediately recognized the vicious beast, famous throughout the Void Sea. This was a monster that fed on groups of Void Dragons, a terrifying void predator! In his previous life, he had once been hunted by an adult Dragon-Hunting Spider and had nearly died!
He was just about to run when the suppressed memories in his mind came surging back.
Gustavo Portoloso Lombardo Corandov...
A name thousands of syllables long was enough to drive anyone mad, but it was perfectly normal for a long-lived species like the Dragon-Hunting Spider. Elves, true dragons, giants, devils... the true names of these long-lived species were all much the same: like their lifespans, they were long as hell!
"Oh, it's my mom! Then it's fine!"
Now that he understood what was going on, Logo narrowed his eyes, bent his eight legs slightly, then sprang onto Mama Spider's back.
He found a comfortable spot, shoved aside his stinky younger brother, who was sleeping next to him, and closed his eyes.
That's right, he had become a Dragon-Hunting Spider!
More precisely, part of his soul had reincarnated as a Dragon-Hunting Spider.
Logo now fully understood his situation.
After detonating the spatial bomb and dying together with his enemy, his soul had shattered. The Eye of Insight had carried the fragments along the turbulent currents of spacetime to the Elven Plane, where he had reincarnated!
Some of those shattered soul fragments had reincarnated as Logo. The rest had split in two, each part reincarnating separately.
This Dragon-Hunting Spider was one of them!
"So that means I have three bodies?" Logo's eyes lit up. The ability to create clones was rare in the astral realm, especially when their soul wavelengths had changed completely, as his had. That left him so much room to maneuver!
"So these two lines connect me to my other two clones? They're signal lines!
Different souls, one consciousness. That's pretty similar to the Soul Race's innate ability!"
As the thoughts ran through his mind, Logo tentatively sent his consciousness back.
A tremendous boom rang out, and even his soul seemed to tremble.
In the simply yet grandly furnished bedroom, Logo lay sprawled on the bed, his eyes wide and round.
His perspective had changed from one viewpoint to two.
The senses of both bodies were jumbled together: sight, touch, hearing... it made him want to throw up!
Fortunately, his mental strength had improved after his awakening. With the Eye of Insight's help, he soon adjusted.
Once he had adapted, he returned to the high-dimensional information space.
This time, only one of the two lines that had been wrapped around his wrists remained.
He gave it another hard tug, and the scene before his eyes changed again.
The midday sun blazed overhead, pouring golden light down over the steel forest before him and clothing it in a suit of golden armor. Maglev cars sped past him, while a curvaceous young woman on a large void-projection screen drew the attention of numerous young men...
The highly futuristic scene made Logo feel as though he had returned to Blue Star, leaving him momentarily dazed.
"This clone is actually a citizen of the Crimson Alliance," Logo murmured.
His own Red Maple Clan was located in Sunset Territory on the southern coast of the Dawn Continent.
He didn't know where his Dragon-Hunting Spider clone was. Ever since he was born, Mama Spider had gone hunting and brought back food, while he and his siblings only had to eat. There was nothing about the location in his inherited memories, either.
But Logo was very familiar with the Crimson Alliance, where this clone was now.
It was a major power on the level of an empire. Like Sunset Territory, it was on Planet Oklo. It ruled the Crimson Continent to the southeast and was a technological empire!
The clone was named Lancelot Terraria. He was one of the Quebec People and, like Logo, was twelve years old and attending secondary school.
Planet Oklo rotated more slowly. Even with the influence of its binary star system making day and night alternate more frequently, a day there was still longer than on Blue Star, by a ratio of roughly 1.3 to 1.
In other words, a twelve-year-old on Planet Oklo was equivalent to a fifteen- or sixteen-year-old on Blue Star, just the age to attend high school.
Of course, even by Planet Oklo's reckoning of time, the Gendaya People had an average lifespan of three hundred years and reached adulthood at forty. At a mere twelve years old, Logo was still a small child, strictly speaking.
