"What's your name?" Hirahara Yuudai asked.
"Legend of the Night." Chiffon did not hide it. After all, this was the only name he could use now.
"Such a lame name." Hirahara Yuudai apparently had never heard of Legend of the Night. After rubbing his chin, he advised, "Listen, you'd better stop thinking about doing something suicidal like that. I'd say you can only challenge those minor arena champions. No, actually, even a minor champion might kill you."
"What, you looking down on me that much?" Chiffon was displeased. Does this kid still want me to treat him to dinner or not?
"It's not that I'm looking down on you. Underground Heroes aren't that easy to deal with. You think Professional Heroes are strong? You think the ones working in agencies are that strong?" Hirahara Yuudai shook his head. "Not at all. The truly powerful ones are hidden in the shadows, the ones who can endure and lie low—not those who look glamorous on the surface and bask in everyone's praise."
Chiffon agreed with that. The lesser hermit hid in the wilderness, while the greater one hid in the city. No matter where one was, there would always be people concealing their true strength.
"That person named Qiao Beiqiao seems to have a Chinese name."
"That's right, he's Chinese, and he's extremely powerful. What, don't tell me you're stupid enough to challenge him?" Hirahara Yuudai asked with some concern. After all, if Chiffon died, he would have no one to mooch meals off anymore.
Chiffon said nothing. After a while, he asked, "Are there any Five Kings matches coming up?"
Hirahara Yuudai immediately said, "Yes. Tomorrow night at eight, Little Cannon, who ranks fourth among the Five Kings, is being challenged. It'll be quite a show."
"Alright, see you tomorrow." After saying that, Chiffon turned and left, quickly disappearing into the crowd.
Hirahara Yuudai was somewhat speechless. Was this guy really planning to challenge people like that?
Chiffon did not leave the black market immediately. Instead, he wandered around the area. People openly sold bullets and firearms here, and business seemed fairly good, though there appeared to be a rule that anyone who had bought something once could not buy again.
Chiffon had no interest in any of that. However, just as he was about to leave the black market, he suddenly spotted a familiar figure.
Himiko Toga?
Why was she here? Chiffon froze. He had originally wanted to go over and greet her, but given how he looked right now, that would not be appropriate. Besides, there had been some awkward matters between them before. Chiffon decided it was better not to say hello and wait until next time.
In any case, Little Cannon of the Five Kings would be fighting tomorrow. Himiko Toga should be here.
On his way home, Chiffon casually dealt with several thugs and earned 100 Salvation Points. With the League of Villains incident now over, Chiffon had received a total of 800 Salvation Points.
Most of them had come from his classmates. Even All Might had contributed some.
For now, Chiffon did not plan to buy a Quirk Enhancement Pill. He still had one Quirk Enhancement Pill from a lottery draw, but he was in no hurry to take it. Thunder God's Arrival and Air Manipulation now required more experience, and the amount would only increase with each future level-up.
That was when he would need to desperately earn Salvation Points. Still, fighting underground matches in the black market was not bad either. It could directly train his Quirk, saving him a lot of Quirk Enhancement Pills.
Chiffon sat on the sofa watching recent news when his phone rang. It was actually a call from All Might.
"Young Chiffon, please come to the Police Department the day after tomorrow. There are some matters concerning you that need to be handled," All Might said kindly. Chiffon had been a key figure in the League of Villains incident. Without him, there might have been casualties among the students.
Of course, Tenya Iida's contribution could not be ignored either. The school was well aware of that.
"I understand," Chiffon replied.
"Don't feel pressured. It's nothing serious. You did very well this time, young Chiffon!" All Might encouraged him. Chiffon chatted casually with him for a few moments before hanging up.
It was already nine in the evening. Chiffon thought Sister Sakura should be getting off work soon. As he looked out the window, his pupils suddenly contracted and he immediately stood up.
Walking to the window, Chiffon discovered that Fujiwara Convenience Store, where Inoue Sakura worked, was on fire!
"Sister Sakura!" Chiffon had no time to think. He jumped straight out the window. Even if he exposed his Quirk now, he could not care less. Sister Sakura was more important!
The flames surged fiercely. Many people stood around watching, while some carried buckets and continuously threw water onto the fire, but it did not seem to have any effect. No one among them had a Quirk that could suppress fire, leaving them all helpless.
Chiffon controlled the airflow and, after landing below, sprinted madly toward Fujiwara Convenience Store. The bad feeling in his heart had indeed come true. Sister Sakura had once said that she often dreamed of fires. Chiffon had thought it was nothing, just a dream.
But now, it seemed that was not the case. Sister Sakura's dreams appeared to be prophetic. Chiffon simply had not paid attention at the time, and now it had truly happened.
Chiffon vaulted over the crowd and plunged straight into the flames. The raging fire could not approach within a meter of him. He anxiously searched for Sister Sakura, repeatedly telling himself that she would be alright.
Yet more than ten seconds later, despair appeared on Chiffon's face. He had not found Sister Sakura.
Just as Chiffon was about to lose control, he suddenly heard a sound from the storeroom. He rushed over at once. The door was locked from the inside, but that was no obstacle to Chiffon. After opening it, he found Inoue Sakura lying on the floor, weakly using a broom to strike the door.
Tears immediately streamed down Chiffon's face. He picked Inoue Sakura up, then punched through the storeroom wall and raced toward a nearby hospital.
Running at full speed, Chiffon was like a humanoid bolt of lightning, continuously speeding down the roads. Even cars could not keep up with him.
After reaching the hospital, Chiffon handed Inoue Sakura over to the doctors and waited outside.
He could not understand why a small convenience store had suddenly caught fire, or why Sister Sakura had been locked inside the storage room. This had definitely been done by someone. Did someone want to kill Sister Sakura, or did they have another purpose?
The more Chiffon thought about it, the more terrified he became. He began to see some clues. Perhaps an enemy wanted to lure him out, or perhaps they were using Sister Sakura to test whether he would come to save her.
"No matter who it is, anyone who dares challenge my bottom line will pay with their life!" Chiffon said viciously.
Half an hour later, the emergency room doors opened. Before the attending physician could even remove his mask, Chiffon anxiously asked, "How is my sister!?"
"She's not in any life-threatening danger. She inhaled too much carbon dioxide, which caused her to fall unconscious. She'll need to remain in the hospital for observation for a few days," the doctor said, patting Chiffon on the shoulder before leaving. He had other matters to attend to.
Chiffon let out a sigh of relief and said to the doctor's retreating back, "Thank you, doctor."
"You're welcome." The doctor waved a hand and left.
As long as she was alright, it was enough. The weight hanging over Chiffon's heart finally lifted, and he headed to the first-floor admissions department to pay for her hospitalization.
