Background

The Star God came under the Theater God’s protection after awakening. Learning the realities behind the world’s conflicts ended his earlier innocence and shaped his willingness to undertake dangerous or ruthless work for his comrades 317.

He founded the organization that included Huaxia’s five God-Prefixed Heavenly Mandate Bearers and worked with a cultivation-method team to create the original Body Refining Art. He also created the Star Grand Array and became commander-in-chief of the Mountain and Sea Main Battlefield, where Huaxia confronted the strongest invading forces 12 43.

Appearance

The Star God normally appears in purple stellar battle attire with a mask concealing his face 88 129 405.

  • Concealed identity: Continues wearing his mask and using only “Star God” even after attaining supreme military and political authority 688.
  • Blood-robed counterpart: In the revenge timeline, his formerly elegant appearance becomes blood-soaked, wounded, and surrounded by killing intent powerful enough to nearly overwhelm distant observers 49 859 860.
  • White-haired counterpart: After the Battle God kills the Martial God, his hair turns white overnight and his stellar battle garb becomes white. Su Wen later finds his hair dry and lusterless despite his immense strength 214 220.

Personality

The Star God is meticulous, rational, and exceptionally attentive to contingencies. His protection of Su Wen extends beyond immediate threats to records, memories, identity concealment, and arrangements that remain useful decades into alternate futures. He also studies projections of his own deaths to identify weaknesses and future enemies 25 198 207 211.

He is gentle toward friends and his own people but deliberately terrifying toward enemies. Although willing to plunder hostile clans, he distinguishes between limited aggression and extermination: after raiding the Layi Clan with the God of Freedom, he stresses that they restrained collateral damage and avoided destroying a race before relations had broken down 110 207.

His patriotism takes precedence over personal advancement. He is willing to lose his potential for godhood if doing so will protect Huaxia or open a path for others. His concern also extends to Huaxia in other timelines, which he considers deserving of a better future even when it is not the homeland he personally protects 264 300.

Beneath his composure, he is proud, sensitive, and vulnerable to the loss of comrades. Becoming an Immortal Demigod through the God of Wealth’s sacrifice leaves one counterpart deeply wounded; when Su Wen proposes repeating that sacrifice, he vehemently refuses. In that future, the peace he maintains rests on the suffering of a man who has outlived all his comrades 297.

Abilities & Skills

Star Origin

The Star God draws upon stellar power for a broad range of functions rather than specializing solely in combat 146.

  • Attack: Uses stellar energy, sword techniques, and falling stars against enemies. His pursuit of the Battle God produces shockwaves that destroy dozens of nearby Arrow Realms 183 214.
  • Healing: Channels starlight to heal Mo Xiao Su and stabilize her soul during her premature awakening 92.
  • Divination and curses: Explicitly identifies both as applications of his Star Origin 146.
  • Clones: Can gather his clones’ power into himself before a major assault 855.
  • Combat limitation: The Theater God initially exceeds him in direct combat; his other talents are considered even more exceptional than his fighting strength 91 183.

Star Grand Array

His principal creation is a national defensive array that combines surveillance, transportation, protection, and precision attacks 43 198 199.

  • Intruder detection: Locks onto invading other-race beings and attacks them within Huaxia 43 49.
  • Divinity detection: Initially locates God-Prefixed bearers through divine-authority auras released when they use innate abilities. He later upgrades it to detect divinity directly, addressing the weakness exposed by Mo Xiao Su’s concealed awakening 88 129.
  • Teleportation: Enables instantaneous travel to locations throughout its coverage 199.
  • Defensive barriers: Continually gathers stellar power to shield Huaxia, even after its creator’s death 199.
  • Precision bombardment: After decades of improvement, sustained strikes and stellar blockade can kill Emperor Rank Limit opponents 199.
  • Shared authority: Grants Su Wen the highest control permissions and arranges for trustworthy comrades to manage the array in his absence 198.
  • Early vulnerability: Diverting its power against an Evil Spirit Insect Swarm allows Ghost Face Clan assassins to escape its immediate targeting in one future 39.

Star Divination and Deduction

The Star God uses celestial signs, accumulated information, and detailed calculations to investigate threats and manipulate misleading trails 69 242 545.

  • Treasure detection: Senses signs concerning a supreme treasure in the Layi Clan’s territory 69.
  • Identity protection: Creates false leads and separates the apparent fate of ordinary Su Wen from the God of Wealth 242.
  • Strategic forecasting: Calculates a future in which the Ninth Epoch wins its final battle but Su Wen disappears afterward 545.
  • Distinction from prophecy: Emphasizes that the latter conclusion comes from objective information and calculation, not direct divination of the future 545.

Concealment and Identity Management

He conceals both his own presence and the identities of strategically important allies 4 25 405.

  • Presence concealment: Ordinary passersby fail to notice him even while standing directly in front of him 4.
  • Memory and record alteration: Erases or modifies police memories and records concerning Su Wen, including Li Wenze’s recollection of his loan 25.
  • Protective disguises: Supplies Su Wen with a mask that hides identity, aura, and strength, and helps stage the God of Wealth’s death 25 113.
  • Inherited concealment arts: Uses the Eighth Epoch Star God’s techniques to remain undetectable to the Immortal Demigod Theater God while only Emperor Rank High Stage 405.

Martial Dao Research

The Star God develops cultivation methods and practical systems for strengthening human forces 12 41 49.

  • Original body-refining research: Helps create the method intended to improve prospective Heavenly Mandate Bearers’ fitness and combat ability 12 43.
  • Basic Body Tempering Method 3.0: Integrates stellar power into version 2.0, allowing its fusion with qi and blood to overcome the third-tier threshold 41.
  • Star God Body Tempering Method: Develops a later star-attributed method whose practitioners can resonate with the Star Grand Array and draw upon its power in battle 49.
  • Demigod research: After becoming an Immortal Demigod, works to forge a new advancement path for Heavenly Mandate Bearers 297.

Star Weapons and Military Engineering

He packages stellar techniques into weapons usable by others and combines cultivation insights with technological concepts 22 314.

  • Early white chess piece: Provides Su Wen with one use of Star Strike, ten uses of Sword Falls upon the Stars, and one hundred uses of Star Sword Qi 22.
  • Star Strike: Devastates a 1,000-meter range. Its energy exceeds the Training Arrow Realm’s limits, so Su Wen is advised to secure the ability to return before using it 22.
  • Sword Falls upon the Stars: Covers 200 meters; Su Wen is advised to return within ten minutes after activation 22.
  • Later white pieces: Incorporate nuclear-weapon concepts, providing area attacks with negative aftereffects 314.
  • Later black pieces: Deliver precision strikes that even Emperor Rank High Stage opponents would struggle to withstand. Combined black-and-white attacks double their power 314.
  • Additional preparations: Creates star talismans, light-core inscriptions, and self-propelled star cannons 314.

Eighth Epoch Inheritance and Ancient Star Art

The Eighth Epoch Star God’s memories provide inherited techniques, investigative methods, and control of a Star Dao Guardian 405 545.

  • Expanded inheritance: After becoming a True God, obtains the predecessor’s secret arts, ancient arts, divine abilities, and other techniques 545.
  • Power borrowing: Uses the Ancient Star Art and the Star God divine seat as a core vessel to access God King-level power 545.
  • Requirements: Must know the person whose power is borrowed sufficiently well and possess a suitable vessel for the power crossing past and present 545.
  • Cost: Does not ordinarily consume qi, blood, soul power, or true spirit, but risks the caster losing himself within the borrowed memories and strength 545.

Strategy and Administration

His responsibilities encompass battlefield command, political administration, diplomacy, and long-term intelligence operations 43 569 675 688.

  • Military organization: Establishes the Heavenly Mandate Bearer Merit System despite resistance, encouraging civilian bearers to join the war 49.
  • Undercover operations: Builds a culturally rooted Remnant Clan identity, using apparent betrayals as preparation and cover 569.
  • Negotiation: Uses detailed records of the Descender Universe’s previous resource transfers to challenge its claims of poverty and demand greater reparations 675.
  • Political instruction: Arranges a disguised division-level government post in Jiang City for Su Wen’s avatar to gain administrative experience 689.
  • Practical limits: Cannot personally solve every threat; when a task exceeds him, he gathers information for an Incumbent True God capable of acting on it 813.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Star God mask — Conceals his face and personal identity. He retains it to prevent family obligations, old acquaintances, and vested interests from interfering with his public duties 688.
  • Divine sword — A supreme treasure supplied by the Theater God. Immediately increases his Star Sword Dao’s attack power by at least forty percent; its Dao patterns offer potential for further improvement 183.
  • Black and white chess-piece Star Weapons — Portable offensive and protective tools distributed to allies, including Su Wen and Wealth Spirit 4 165 314.
  • Violet-red life-saving crystals — Can be produced readily after he becomes a True God. A crystal also carries a prerecorded explanation of his choices and future calculations 457 545.
  • Memory crystal — Transfers future memories to his Main Space-Time self. One inheritance deliberately excludes his undercover experiences to reduce the risks of infiltration 614.
  • Technology Bag — A spatial bag given to Su Wen containing two centuries of theories, research achievements, finished products, and intelligent systems. Its thirty-eighth section identifies leading scientists and overlooked or suppressed talents 487.
  • Music box — Preserves a projection that warns the Battle God against excessive drinking and urges him to accept responsibility 165.

Relationships

  • Su Wen / God of Wealth / Martial God — His closest comrade and central strategic hope. Protects him from his first trial onward, supports his journeys across timelines, and entrusts him with the Star Grand Array. Su Wen’s deaths repeatedly expose the depth of his grief 4 54 198 297.
  • Theater God — Early protector, fellow strategist, and collaborator. In one future they differ over priorities: the Star God places his hopes in Main Space-Time, while the Theater God also insists on fighting for their present timeline’s future 54 223 225 317.
  • Battle God — Comrade whose combat gifts he values but whose everyday judgment he frequently criticizes. After the Battle God is manipulated into killing the Martial God, a future Star God pursues him in fury; the remorseful Battle God nevertheless insists that Su Wen continue trusting the Star God 135 214 218 381.
  • Mo Xiao Su / Shadow God — Helps stabilize her awakening. An earlier future counterpart acknowledges failing to detect her and protect her childhood, and refuses to pressure her into military service after learning what she suffered 88 92.
  • Ruisina / God of Freedom — Longstanding acquaintance, trading partner, and fellow raider of the Layi Clan. She openly flirts with him, while he rejects her advances and warns Su Wen to remain cautious around her 68 69 110 165.
  • Wealth Spirit — Supplies him with a protective black chess piece before sending him into the Insect Spirit Arrow Realm 165.
  • Du Xuehan / Heaven God — A future counterpart kills her. After receiving earlier future memories, the Main Space-Time Star God reasons that her ability to communicate with the Will of the Universe may explain that decision 614.
  • Su Xia — Commander of the Star God Legion’s Seventh Legion; crosses to his side when he calls for True Gods to abandon the opposing force 465.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Protecting the Newly Awakened God of Wealth

The Star God approaches Su Wen before his first trial, explains the unusually demanding advancement conditions faced by god-profession bearers, and provides a white chess-piece weapon. He explicitly warns Su Wen never to disclose his innate talent, even to him 4.

Afterward, he conceals Su Wen’s identity and removes identifying records. Recognizing both the God of Wealth’s strategic importance and his vulnerability, he commits to protecting him “for public and private reasons alike” 25 54.

Turning Future Knowledge into Present Strength

Su Wen’s revised cultivation methods repeatedly inspire the Star God. The exchange becomes more direct when Su Wen supplies twenty years of his future insights, accelerating his growth and improvements to the Star Grand Array 28 46 123 124 129.

The Star God also helps stage the God of Wealth’s death so Su Wen can operate as the Martial God. He plans a state funeral that doubles as preparation for publicly introducing the Arrow Realms, Heavenly Mandate Bearers, and Martial Dao 113 135.

Blood-Robed Revenge Timeline

In one future, the God of Wealth is murdered during a coordinated assault involving forty-nine border Arrow Realms. The Star God returns for the funeral, resigns as supreme commander, and begins a solitary campaign against the implicated clans, starting with the Layi Clan 49 855.

His campaign destroys multiple Arrow Realms and culminates in a siege by an alliance of 126 races. He kills forty-three King Rank and five Emperor Rank enemies and destroys nine Rule Arrow Realms before using his remaining origin power to strengthen the Star Grand Array 49 860 861.

The later side story reveals that his apparent madness includes deliberate calculation. Knowing that Su Wen’s Main Space-Time self distrusts the divine bearers, he intends his own sacrifice to demonstrate their reliability and help Su Wen accept their support 857 858.

His legacy remains contested: critics condemn the massacres and damage to relations with friendly Arrow Realms, while supporters credit him with preserving Huaxia’s frontier. The National Heroic Martyrs Evaluation Committee ultimately recognizes him as a great historical figure 49.

The Martial God’s Murder

In another future, the Battle God is manipulated into killing the Martial God. The Star God’s hair turns white overnight, and his furious pursuit carries them across Huaxia’s borders and through numerous Arrow Realms 214.

The Battle God later explains that the Star God’s grief was genuine and urges Su Wen not to doubt him. This timeline also exposes their differing abilities: the Star God cannot kill the Battle God instantly, while the Law of Combat continually heals and strengthens the latter during battle 218.

The Sacrifice-Forged Immortal Demigod

A future God of Wealth sacrifices his body, soul, and true spirit to enable the Star God’s breakthrough into Immortal Demigodhood. The Star God defeats the attacking forces and remains to protect a peaceful Huaxia after his comrades’ deaths 273 297.

When the visiting Su Wen proposes another sacrifice to accelerate his research in a later timeline, the Star God refuses and admits how severely the first sacrifice tormented him. Subsequent accounts nevertheless document another public sacrifice intended to help him reach greater cultivation heights 297 335 336.

Remnant Clan Infiltration

The Star God prepares a deep-cover operation using an established Remnant Clan identity rather than simply posing as a defecting Ninth Epoch deity. He explains that future betrayals and backstabbings will serve as groundwork for the central infiltration 569.

Future records describe him killing nineteen frontier True Gods and defecting in year 360 of the God of Wealth calendar. He eventually becomes the Remnant Clan’s high priest, earning their confidence through extraordinary military successes and devastating attacks against his former side 573 598 604.

Su Wen publicly severs their friendship and issues a kill order, but concealed cooperation continues: the supposedly fallen Battle God remains alive beside Su Wen. After returning, Su Wen transfers preserved future memories to the Main Space-Time Star God and raises suspicions about the Wills of both universes 598 614.

Universe-Scale Leadership

The Star God handles most administrative work while also directing military affairs and negotiations. His diplomacy with the Descender Universe ranges from meticulously documented demands for compensation to blunt threats of renewed war 675 688 762.

A later future version becomes the Will of the Universe. Using his knowledge of Divine Fate’s resources and likely actions, he takes control of most of the Divine Fate Universe within a century, aided by its dominant consciousness weakening itself through internal purges. He then brings the Ninth Epoch’s Divine Mandate Bearers to cultivate at the universe’s origin 821 831.

Notable Quotes

“For public and private reasons alike, protect the God of Wealth to the death!” 54

“Although I don't know what the Main Space-Time is like or how far its future will go, … that sliver of hope for success is enough to make me give everything!” 860

Trivia

  • The author explicitly describes the Star God’s unrevealed face and lack of a personal name as intentional: by the end of the novel, “Star God” needs no additional name to define him 849.
  • He is distinct from the Second Epoch Star God, whose Star God Law remains influential in the Ninth Epoch, and the Eighth Epoch Star God, whose memories and techniques he inherits 324 405.
  • Despite his divine position, he states that Divine Mandate Bearers are not mythological gods who grow stronger by absorbing faith 822.
