Death Judgment
Sand Fox struggled to get up, bracing herself on her elbow, only to feel a tremendous force bear down on her wrist, as though a mountain were pressing on it.
Her bones creaked, and the searing pain made her suck in a sharp breath.
She gritted her teeth, her face full of resentment and fury, and glared at Lu Chen as though she wanted to flay him alive with her eyes.
"You think you can see through everything? Hmph, how naive! The real hunter is hiding where you can't see!"
Before she had finished speaking, a low mechanical hum sounded in the air, faint and piercing, like a mosquito buzzing in one's ear, setting one's nerves on edge.
A cold smile curled Lu Chen's lips. He had long expected that his opponent wouldn't surrender without a fight.
"You little punk, still trying to play dirty with me?"
He instantly activated his SSS-rank [Omniscient Vision].
The entire world seemed to have been remastered in high definition, every minute detail laid bare and every color more vivid.
In his field of vision, a camouflaged miniature drone was silently approaching overhead, like a ghost.
"That's it? How low can you get?"
Lu Chen curled his lip in disdain. They dared show off such a childish trick in front of him?
He raised his hand, and roaring flames instantly erupted in his palm.
The scorching heat seemed ready to set even the air alight.
The flames gathered in his hand into a massive fireball that radiated a suffocating pressure.
"I'll send you flying!"
Lu Chen hurled the fireball with all his might.
The fireball tore through the air with a piercing whistle and struck the drone dead-on.
"Boom!"
With a tremendous bang, the drone was engulfed in flames in an instant. It became a burning fireball, trailing a long plume of fire as it crashed onto the grass not far away.
Sand Fox's face went deathly pale, like a sheet of paper drained of color.
She had never imagined that Lu Chen would discover what she had set up so easily.
"You... how could you possibly..." she murmured, her voice full of disbelief and despair.
"Heh, your secrets are laid bare before me!"
And in the instant Sand Fox lost focus, One-Eyed Snake, who had been waiting for a chance to strike, finally found his opening.
He sprang up from the ground with a kip-up, swift and decisive, like a venomous snake that had lain in wait for a long time finally baring its fangs.
"Die!"
One-Eyed Snake let out a low growl. The tactical dagger in his hand flashed coldly in the sunlight as he aimed straight for Lu Chen's throat.
The strike came from a tricky angle and was so fast that an ordinary person wouldn't have had time to react.
But to Lu Chen, who possessed SSS-rank [Omniscient Vision], One-Eyed Snake's movements were like a slow-motion replay, every detail clearly visible.
He could even see the savage expression on One-Eyed Snake's face and the madness flashing in his eyes.
"Too slow."
Lu Chen shook his head disdainfully and shifted slightly to one side, dodging One-Eyed Snake's attack with ease.
At the same time, he caught One-Eyed Snake's wrist with a backhand grip and used his momentum to spin him around.
One-Eyed Snake felt a tremendous force hit him, and his body instantly lost its balance. Like a rag doll, he was slammed hard into the ground by Lu Chen.
"Bang!"
With a dull thud, One-Eyed Snake crashed heavily into the ground. It felt as though all his internal organs had shifted out of place, and a sweet taste rose in his throat as he spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Cough, cough..."
He struggled to get up, only to find that it felt as though every bone in his body had come apart. He couldn't muster any strength at all.
Lu Chen walked slowly over to One-Eyed Snake and looked down at him from above.
"Your 'judgment'? Heh, it's nothing but the fantasy of the weak."
While subduing One-Eyed Snake, Lu Chen had quietly activated his SSSSSS-rank [Infinite Replication].
His target was One-Eyed Snake's D-rank [Hawk Eye] talent.
Although it was only D-rank, even a mosquito was meat. Little by little, it all added up, and it might come in handy someday.
"Replication successful! The [Hawk Eye] talent has been upgraded to its peak SSS-rank version!"
As the system notification sounded, Lu Chen's vision changed once again.
If his earlier [Omniscient Vision] had been a high-definition remaster, then his vision now was like turning on a microscope, a telescope, night-vision goggles, an infrared scanner, and more, all at once...
His field of vision instantly expanded to a range of ten kilometers.
He could clearly see the dewdrops on leaves a hundred meters away, and even his own reflection in them; he could clearly see the paths ants were crawling along three hundred meters away, and even the fine hairs on their legs.
Holy shit, this feeling... it's fucking amazing!
Lu Chen couldn't help marveling inwardly.
Now that he had this SSS-rank [Hawk Eye], who would dare play hide-and-seek in front of him again?
He bent down to look at the dying One-Eyed Snake and said flatly, "Your so-called 'death judgment'..." He bent down to look at the dying One-Eyed Snake and said flatly, "Your so-called 'death judgment' is nothing but a joke to me." With that, he raised his foot and ground it down hard.
"Crack!" The crisp sound of breaking announced the death of the costly sniper rifle.
Its trigger assembly had been crushed to pieces, just like One-Eyed Snake's laughable "judgment," unable to withstand a single blow.
Lu Chen dusted off his hands as though he had done something utterly insignificant, then turned and walked toward Xiaobai, a wicked smile on his face.
"Let's go, little one. I'll take you out for some good food and drink."
Behind him, One-Eyed Snake's flame of life rapidly dimmed. Using the last of his strength, he forced a venomous final utterance from his throat: "You'll... regret this..." His voice was as hoarse as a broken bellows, echoing through the empty ruins like the curse of an evil ghost.
Without looking back, Lu Chen merely waved a hand casually, as though shooing away an annoying fly.
He was in a fantastic mood. The improvement to his vision from SSS-rank [Hawk Eye] made him feel as though the entire world had become clearer.
With this thing, he wouldn't even need a scope when shooting anymore. It was practically a built-in aimbot!
He put an arm around Xiaobai and strode forward, his figure gradually disappearing into the depths of the ruins.
The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder and a faint scent of blood, announcing that a brief but brutal battle had come to an end.
And far away, at the end of a forest path, a thin figure was hiding behind a rock, trembling...
