Background / History
Apocalypse and Family Rescue
Before the outbreak, Lu Chen lived with his parents on the city’s south side. His father had worked on construction sites, and Lu Chen’s belongings included a collection of game skins. Their neighbor, Auntie Wang, regularly brought the family homegrown produce before arriving bloodstained on the first day of the apocalypse 1 5.
After being admitted, Auntie Wang bit his mother. His father fought her with an ashtray and an iron rod, then shut Lu Chen behind the basement door to protect him. Facing approaching zombies, Lu Chen awakened Infinite Replication and burned his way out 1.
He found his father critically injured with glass lodged in his chest. Rejecting Old Zhang’s evacuation offer, he cleared the building, burned it down, and carried his father away in search of medicine. His father’s faint breathing remained a central concern as he crossed the ruined city 2 3.
Shelter Conflict and the First Recruits
Lu Chen defeated a Black Wolf Gang ambush and freed Xiao Lu, taking her along on the condition that she obey him. They entered a temporary shelter, where Captain Lin became suspicious of his composure and flame-related signs 4 5.
Lu Chen stole medical supplies and worked in the medical area to gain access to patients and their talents. His search for a nerve regeneration agent escalated into confrontations with Captain Lin, escape attempts, and another infiltration under the disguise of an injured awakener 5 6 7 8.
After finding gang members threatening Xiao Lu, he killed the attackers and forced the injured Li Gou’er into service. He named Li Gou’er the Godslaying Legion’s first warrior and targeted a military base for additional medicine and talents 9.
Professor Zhao’s Experiments
Posing as an ordinary awakened survivor, Lu Chen entered the military base and used routine labor assignments to collect talents. One-Eyed Wolf’s memories exposed Professor Zhao’s talent-extraction experiments, drawing him further into the institute 10 11.
He rescued the controlled test subject No. 09, stole talent samples and experiment records, and used Chen Feng’s explosives against the pursuing soldiers. After escaping, he brought No. 09 and Old Zhou into the ruins, later appointing Old Zhou chief scientist and Li Gou’er combat leader 14 15 16.
When Xiao Lu was badly injured in an attack, Lu Chen sought safety for her and discovered her developing Life Link talent. He subsequently infiltrated the medical area to retrieve his unconscious father, overcoming spores, infrared surveillance, and Captain Lin’s armed resistance 17 18 19 20.
The escape led to a confrontation with Professor Zhao and his Immunity Talent. Lu Chen pursued Zhao into the laboratory, copied Gene Recombination, and killed him. He then killed Captain Lin when Lin attempted to shoot him, leaving the collapsing base with Su Wan, her injured father, and Xiao Lu 21 22 23 24.
Recruiting for Conquest
In the forest, Lu Chen killed the mutated wolf king Gray Shadow, found the abused Xiaobai in a cave, and obtained supplies and a map with Li Qi’s help. A later military-camp infiltration yielded documents suggesting that the Doomsday Overlord might be responsible for the apocalypse 25 26 27.
He recruited the orphan A Jie for his Spatial Perception, then clashed with Steel Judgment over a warehouse’s supplies. After defeating Tie Dun, he treated his wounds, accepted Xiaoyu’s request to stay, and persuaded Tie Dun to become a test subject for his pursuit of immortality 30 31 32 33 34.
His ambitions shifted openly from gathering followers to conquest. He mapped survivor strongholds as targets for seizing people and resources and welcomed the awakened Chen Hao into the legion 36.
Research Base and Legion Expansion
Lu Chen developed rule recombination, restarted an abandoned reactor, and accepted Linda and A Kai as volunteer test subjects. At the research base, he freed imprisoned awakened survivors, defeated Hei Yao, and copied a large collection of stored talent profiles 42 43 44.
After destroying the base’s armed resistance, he declared that the legion would rewrite the apocalypse’s rules. He forged talent-powered weapons and tested their resonance with Linda and A Kai, extending his power-building strategy beyond personal talent acquisition 45 47.
Following the Thunder Group’s submission, Lu Chen claimed its supplies and ordered Linda to investigate possible backing by a larger force. Over the following days, he selected Bing Ling, Artisan Zero, and a flame-wielding youth as the legion’s first core team, emphasizing strength, strategy, wages, and benefits 49 50.
Appearance
- Face: Described as handsome, with sharply defined features and deep-set eyes 6 15 47.
- Build and bearing: Has an upright figure; after surviving bombardment, he stands “straight as a spear” despite being covered in ash 34 38.
- Hands: Has long fingers and lightly callused fingertips 33 47.
- Defensive manifestation: His skin develops a metallic sheen when his body-strengthening talents are active 32 38 40.
Personality
Lu Chen’s early helplessness becomes a conviction that power is the only reliable means of controlling his fate and protecting others. He distrusts institutions that invoke justice, sacrifice, or collective survival while attempting to use him as a resource. He refuses to become another faction’s pawn and increasingly treats his own strength as the basis for authority 1 2 3 7.
He is calculating and opportunistic, using feigned weakness, false identities, medical work, and staged encounters to acquire talents or expose an opponent’s plans. His recruitment is selective: he values useful abilities and growth potential rather than taking in every survivor indiscriminately 6 10 11 30.
His protectiveness coexists with coercion and brutality. He repeatedly risks himself for his father and shows genuine fear for Xiao Lu’s safety, yet forces Li Gou’er into service and makes obedience a condition of protection 4 8 9 17 19.
His interest in experimentation becomes increasingly obsessive. He deliberately burns his own arm to test regeneration, seeks immortality, and views talent research as a route to creating powerful followers. Dark jokes and theatrical remarks frequently accompany his violence and displays of confidence 24 25 34 42 47.
Abilities & Skills
Infinite Replication
His SSSSSS-rank core talent copies abilities and commonly elevates them to peak SSS rank, granting both power and practical understanding of their operation 19 38 40.
- Broad targets: Copies talents from humans, zombies, mutated animals, grass, and even a reactor’s Energy Conversion module 3 25 28 42.
- Talent sharing: Transfers copied powers to followers, including Linda, A Kai, and Bing Ling 44 50.
- Detection limit: Initially receives a blank interface when attempting to copy Xiao Lu’s incompletely manifested talent 18.

- Extreme Speed Storm: Grants movement exceeding the speed of sound and brief bursts of exceptional strength 38.
- Immortal Body: Provides steel-like defense, immunity to the vast majority of physical attacks, and enhanced vitality and recovery 38.
- Survives artillery bombardment without meaningful injury and regenerates a deliberately burned arm 34 38.
- Gene Control: Allows him to alter his own genes to strengthen himself 23.
- His pursuit of immortality remains an experimental goal, not a demonstrated guarantee that he cannot die 34.
Mental Influence and Life Link
He uses mental abilities to control opponents, extract information, and support coordinated survival 9 10 11 18.
- Mind Control: Controls low-level zombies and influences human emotions 10.
- Memory reading: Extracts information about Professor Zhao’s experiments from One-Eyed Wolf 11.
- Life Link: Synchronizes healing, shares statuses, and distributes fatal damage across linked targets 18.
- Life Link has no stated numerical cap on participants, but its effectiveness decreases as the number linked increases 18.
Causality Interference
He uses Causality Interference against both a human commander and an artificial intelligence 45 48.
- Combines it with Omniscient Vision to make the commander trigger his own attempted self-detonation 45.
- Disrupts the robotic general’s core algorithms, introducing an error into its judgment 48.
