Heavenly Fire Burns the World
Hei Yao let out a desperate roar like a cornered beast. He pushed his B-rank [Restraint] talent to its limit, sending chain after chain of condensed energy sweeping toward Lu Chen like venomous snakes ready to strike.
The chains gleamed with a cold metallic sheen as they traced chilling arcs through the air, sealing off all of Lu Chen's escape routes in an attempt to bind him completely and crush him to dust.
"Die!" Hei Yao roared at the top of his lungs, his face twisted as though he meant to unleash all his fear and anger.
Yet faced with an attack that surrounded him like an inescapable net, Lu Chen unexpectedly closed his eyes.
His consciousness surged outward like a tide, spreading across the entire underground base in an instant.
With the aid of his SSS-rank [Mental Force Field], the trajectory of every chain and every subtle change in each energy node registered with perfect clarity in his mind.
This was no longer mere observation, but a refined perception of energy flow and a profound understanding of the structure of space.
"No matter how strong your control is, it can't overcome the rules themselves," Lu Chen murmured to himself. His voice was quiet, but it carried the confidence of someone in control of everything.
The next instant, he snapped his eyes open, a sharp light shooting from them like two swords cleaving through the void.
SSS-rank [Omniscient Vision], activate!
At that moment, time itself seemed to slow down.
Lu Chen's gaze pierced through layer upon layer of obstacles, pinpointing Hei Yao's location: behind the dense mass of chains stood the man, his face twisted and his expression crazed.
"Found you." Lu Chen's lips curved into a cold smile, like the arrival of the grim reaper.
His body abruptly moved, turning into a blurred afterimage. He was so fast that he nearly tore through the air, producing a piercing sonic boom.
The restraining chains that had seemed impregnable might as well not have been there. He deftly evaded them in an inconceivable manner, weaving his way through.
His movements were utterly ghostlike, elusive as a phantom wandering along the edge of life and death.
"What?!" Hei Yao's pupils contracted sharply, disbelief spreading across his face.
He couldn't understand how Lu Chen had found his position and broken through his blockade in such a short time.
It was completely beyond his comprehension, overturning everything he understood about talent abilities.
Yet before he could react, Lu Chen had already appeared before him like a ghost.
Scorching flames, freezing ice, violent lightning... Three utterly different energies surged wildly between Lu Chen's hands, intertwining to form an extremely dangerous vortex of energy.
Fierce flames blazed on his right hand, their color an eerie pale white. They radiated a suffocating heat, as though they would burn everything to nothing.
Brilliant lightning gathered in his left hand, arcs flashing and crackling with terrifying power that could destroy everything.
Beneath his feet, an ice-blue domain rapidly spread out. Everything in its path froze solid, and even the water molecules in the air were not spared.
"How many seconds can you withstand this threefold suppression?" Lu Chen smiled coldly, his voice like that of a demon from hell, carrying a chill that inspired despair.
Hei Yao let out a desperate roar, frantically using his [Restraint] talent in an attempt to control Lu Chen again and stop his next move.
To his horror, however, he found that his ability had been weakened to its limit in an instant. The once immensely powerful restraining chains were now as fragile as spider silk, unable to withstand a single blow.
He could do nothing to stop Lu Chen. He could only watch as Lu Chen drew closer, step by step, and feel the presence of death growing stronger.
Lu Chen had already activated [Heavenly Fire Burns the World].
It was the god-tier skill he had gained after using the Infinite Replication System to elevate his D-rank [Flame Manipulation] talent to SSS rank.
It could summon an extremely unusual flame, one that possessed not only an incredibly high temperature but also a mysterious power capable of burning souls.
The next second, a blaze of incandescent white fire descended like divine punishment, instantly engulfing the entire hall of the underground base.
The whole space was devoured by the terrifying flames, and the air burned away with a crackling, bursting sound.
Hei Yao bore the brunt of it, swallowed whole by the incandescent flames.
He let out a piercing scream, rolling and howling frantically in the blaze as he tried to escape the deadly fire.
But it was all in vain.
The flames of [Heavenly Fire Burns the World] burned not only his body, but his soul as well.
He could clearly feel his life force rapidly draining away, his consciousness dissipating bit by bit.
His skin quickly charred, his muscles began to melt, and his bones gave off crisp cracking sounds.
In just a few seconds, his entire body had become a burning fireball, giving off a nauseating stench of charred flesh.
Hiding in the corner, Linda and A Kai witnessed the purgatorial scene and were too shocked to speak.
Their eyes and mouths were wide open, disbelief written all over their faces.
"He... he launched a combined attack with three elements all by himself?" A Kai muttered, his voice trembling with fear and awe.
He couldn't believe that anyone could control three different types of energy at once and fuse them perfectly to produce such terrifying destructive power.
It was simply beyond the limits of what a human could achieve.
Linda looked at Lu Chen with a complicated expression, her heart filled with shock and questions.
"This isn't power a human should have," she said softly, her quiet voice carrying deep bewilderment.
In her eyes, Lu Chen was no longer an ordinary human, but a being with godlike power.
How on earth did he do it? And where were his limits?
The flames still raged, but the screams gradually faded, and a suffocating silence enveloped the entire hall of the underground base.
Lu Chen slowly landed, his figure tall and imposing, like a god of war.
He stood there quietly, surrounded by three energies-fire, ice, and lightning-like a deity in command of the laws of heaven and earth.
What exactly had he done?
The flames gradually died down, leaving the air thick with a nauseating burnt stench.
Hei Yao's once fearsome face was long gone. All that remained was a charred black skeleton, a silent testament to the terror of the blaze.
Lu Chen slowly landed, standing straight as a spear. Astonishingly, not even a speck of ash had touched the hem of his clothes, as though the flames possessed a spirit of their own and dared not profane their master.
He turned, his calm gaze sweeping over Linda and A Kai as they trembled in the corner. In a tone as indifferent as if he were discussing the weather, he said, "Now you have two choices: join me, or leave and get as far away as you can."
Linda gritted her teeth, fear and intense longing mingling in her eyes.
She summoned her courage and stepped forward, her voice trembling slightly. "I want to know... how did you do it? How can you control three different powers at the same time?"
A Kai hesitated for a moment, but in the end, he couldn't resist the temptation to grow stronger.
He clenched his fists tightly and raised his head, his gaze resolute. "I want to get stronger too! Like you... no, stronger than you!"
Hearing this, Lu Chen's lips curved into a faint, meaningful smile.
He didn't answer immediately. Instead, he slowly raised his right hand, a faint spark of electricity dancing at his fingertip.
The flickering light illuminated his deep eyes, as well as the unfathomable madness in their depths.
"Want to know?" he asked softly, his voice low and magnetic, like the whisper of a demon.
Then he lowered his right hand and turned to walk deeper into the base, leaving them with a view of his retreating back, full of suspense.
"Then... follow me."
