Sudden Attack
"Squelch!"
A sharp burst rang out.
It wasn't the expected thud of a wooden club striking flesh.
Instead, it was the sound of bones shattering, mixed with the tearing of flesh.
Yu Qiang's movement froze in midair.
He still held the club aloft, but a fist-sized hole had appeared in his chest.
His rib cage was shattered, his flesh mangled, and his heart was nowhere to be found.
At that moment.
The basement fell deathly silent.
Yu Qiang's eyes widened, his face full of despair and disbelief.
He stared fixedly at Su Han, his lips trembling slightly, but he could make no sound.
Then, with a thud.
He fell stiffly backward and hit the ground, the club rolling a long way away. He made no further sound.
At the same time.
Zhang Ping had stopped cursing. The anger on his face had long since vanished, replaced by shock and fear.
He looked at Yu Qiang on the ground, then at Su Han.
Su Han slowly drew back his fist.
He flicked the blood from it with force.
Then looked at him.
His eyes were terrifyingly calm.
"Y-you, you..." Zhang Ping's mouth trembled uncontrollably.
Even getting a complete sentence out had become extremely difficult.
"What are you doing? You..."
Su Han slowly walked toward him.
One step.
Two steps.
His footsteps were light.
But in the basement, they rang out with perfect clarity.
Each step seemed to land on the tip of Zhang Ping's heart.
Zhang Ping shrieked, turned, and tried to run for the door.
But just as he took a step, a hand suddenly clamped down on the back of his neck.
The hand wasn't large, and was even somewhat slender, but its strength was terrifying.
Its five fingers dug into his flesh like iron pincers and yanked him back, holding him in an iron grip.
Zhang Ping was lifted off his feet.
He struggled desperately, thrashing his limbs, trying to break free of the hand, but there was nothing he could do.
Su Han turned him around to face him.
They were so close that Zhang Ping could see Su Han's eyes again.
Deep in the pools of his pupils, a blood-red light faintly emerged!
"Who's the real killer?"
Su Han spoke.
His voice was calm, as if he were making casual conversation.
Zhang Ping was already trembling all over with fright, his heart cold and his scalp tingling.
He answered shakily.
"I... I don't know. I really don't know..."
"You're lying."
Su Han tightened his grip a little.
Zhang Ping immediately felt as though his neck was about to be crushed.
A suffocating sensation surged up, and his vision went dark.
He desperately tried to pry the hand away, but it was still no use.
"Y-you, Su Han, you... do you know what you're doing?"
"Doing this means making an enemy of the Security Patrol Office."
The more Zhang Ping spoke, the bolder he became, and he threatened him with a stern voice and expression.
"Let me go, quickly. You still have a chance to turn back, and we can still spare your life..."
Hearing this, Su Han grew impatient.
He didn't have that much patience.
His gaze turned cold. He raised his other hand, clenched it into a fist, and punched.
"Squelch!"
Another sharp burst rang out.
Zhang Ping's body jolted slightly, and a hole split open in his back.
Torn cloth and blood sprayed out together, splashing scarlet across the wall.
His eyes went wide as he looked down at his chest.
There was now a gaping hole in his chest, and his heart had already been shattered. Bits of flesh and blood slowly flowed out.
Su Han let go as well.
Zhang Ping went limp and fell to the ground.
His lips moved, but in the end he only spat out a mouthful of blood mixed with scraps of flesh.
Then his head lolled to one side.
He was dead.
Su Han looked at the two corpses on the ground, expressionless.
He looked at his fist.
It was coated in Yu Qiang's and Zhang Ping's blood, sticky and still warm.
He shook it, then carefully wiped it on the clothes of a corpse on the ground before finally getting it clean.
"It seems that, without knowing any secret martial arts yet, it's still hard for me to control my own strength."
Su Han summed up calmly.
This was his first time killing.
But in his heart, he didn't feel anything.
After all, during the past few days of torture.
He had been hung up, beaten, tortured, subjected to all kinds of punishments, and mentally tormented from every direction.
He had imagined killing in his mind countless times.
Now he had finally killed these two.
All he felt in his heart was a rush of satisfaction, an extraordinary satisfaction.
And the reason he had killed the two outright.
Was that Su Han thought Zhang Qu, the head of the Security Patrol Office, ought to know more.
Rather than waste time questioning them here.
He might as well beat them to death and go ask Zhang Qu.
But unexpectedly, he wasn't in a hurry to leave the basement.
There was no one else in the basement now.
For the time being, it gave him a safe, quiet place.
Su Han first walked to an open area and took up a stance.
He planned to practice the secret martial arts he had learned at the Celestial Phenomena Martial Arts School.
First was the Basic Fist Technique.
He moved slowly, executing every movement to the utmost and feeling his muscles contract and his strength flow.
His ever-increasing comprehension allowed Su Han to grasp it easily.
At first, he seemed a little rusty.
Halfway through, he grew practiced, his movements flowing like water.
By the time he had completed the whole sequence, the wind from his fists was howling!
Every punch came with a short, explosive crack and possessed terrifying attacking power.
He withdrew his strength and finished.
Only then did a sudden realization stir in Su Han's heart.
The entire sequence seemed to join together in his mind, becoming a complete, seamless system.
He could draw on it at any time and respond at any time.
[Skill: Basic Fist Technique (beginner) → Basic Fist Technique (perfection).]
A notification sounded.
Su Han let out a breath of stale air.
His Basic Fist Technique had reached perfection, so he could now be said to have some basic ability to respond.
Next, he continued by practicing the Celestial Phenomenon Stance Technique.
The Celestial Phenomenon Stance Technique had nine movements in total.
When Su Han had learned it at the martial arts school, he couldn't hold even one posture steady, and after five minutes his whole body would tremble.
But now, practicing it again.
He held the first posture for ten minutes, completing it perfectly.
The second posture was perfect as well.
The third posture, the fourth posture... the ninth posture.
All nine postures were completed in one smooth flow.
As he finished the final movement, something stirred in Su Han's heart, and he threw a punch.
"Crack!!"
An explosive report rang out. He had achieved Ming Jin.
[Skill: Celestial Phenomenon Stance Technique (not started) → Celestial Phenomenon Stance Technique (perfection).]
With that.
Su Han slowly ended his practice and opened his eyes.
His comprehension had now risen to 80.
The techniques that had once been obscure and hard to understand had now become extremely easy in his eyes.
He had easily brought both the Basic Fist Technique and the Celestial Phenomenon Stance Technique to perfection.
As for the subsequent techniques of Celestial Phenomena Force Refinement, he didn't have them at present.
He would have to find a way to go to the Celestial Phenomena Martial Arts School to learn them later.
But that was a matter for the future.
Su Han twisted around again and stretched his body, a ruthless look appearing in his eyes.
It was time to leave the basement where he had been tortured for days.
