You Can Do Whatever You Want If You're Good at Your Studies
Ron was still praising Neville, which infuriated Scabbers.
Its tail had already been stepped on and was hurting, and now Ron was pulling it like that, and he was praising Neville?
Are you kidding me?!
Scabbers turned his head and bit Ron's index finger hard.
Ron, in pain, flung the rat away. The rat crashed into Harry's luggage, then fell from mid-air, hitting a table leg and losing consciousness.
Ron carefully put Scabbers in his pocket and stopped bothering him. He then bent down and started picking up the snacks that had fallen to the ground with Harry.
These are all very expensive!
William waved his wand, and all the snacks floated down from the ground and were neatly arranged on the table.
Harry touched the wand in his pocket and looked at William with longing.
"Oh, thank you, William." Ron smiled, his tone suggesting they were very familiar, even though they had only met three or four times.
"I forgot my wand, otherwise I would have definitely turned Malfoy into a giant bat with magic." Ron clenched his fist, somewhat annoyed.
"Oh, you can use magic too?" Before William could speak, Hermione raised an eyebrow and asked in a skeptical tone, "Then show us what you've got?"
"Huh?" Ron looked at Hermione with some surprise, as if he was noticing for the first time that there was a little girl here.
Showing off a skill? He was just saying it; there's no need to take it so seriously.
Ron was about to refuse on the grounds of injury, but under the provocative gaze of the other party and Harry's burning eyes, he bent down and rummaged in the suitcase for a long time before pulling out a very old wand, some parts of which were peeling off, but one end was still shimmering with Unicorn Hair.
This is Charlie's wand; William has seen it many times.
Ron coughed, put Scabbers from his pocket on the table, and then brandished his wand a few times in a mocking manner.
"Daisies, sweet cream, and sunshine turned this silly, fat mouse yellow."
He waved his wand at Scabbers, but nothing happened.
The Scabbers was still gray; it was unconscious, and its little paws twitched occasionally.
"Are you sure this really is a spell?" Hermione laughed, sounding somewhat smug.
"Looks like it wasn't very good, was it? During the summer vacation, I witnessed real magic and learned a lot from William. I tried quite a few relatively simple spells, just for practice, and they all worked."
Hermione stretched her neck like a swan, raised her pointed chin, and stared at Ron and Harry.
"No one in my family knows magic, so when I received my acceptance letter, I was extremely surprised, but also very happy, because, I mean, as far as I know, this is the best magic school—I've memorized all the textbooks."
"Of course, I do this because I love magic—my name is Hermione Granger, what about yours?"
Hermione's rapid-fire words completely stunned Harry and Ron.
William glanced sideways and noticed that Hermione was always very humble and eager to learn when she was in front of him, but she wasn't so low-key in front of strangers.
From a certain perspective, this is a manifestation of extreme insecurity.
Of the young wizards Hermione met, apart from that idiot Neville, including Cedric and the others, their magic was all very powerful, especially William.
This gave her the illusion that all students at Hogwarts were this capable.
This is somewhat similar to the arrogant and domineering Jiumozhi, who was clearly "one of the few who could defeat me," but he was unlucky and encountered those few who could defeat him.
This makes him seem incompetent.
Hermione is currently experiencing this lack of self-confidence.
To put it bluntly, Hermione is just an eleven-year-old girl; no matter how intelligent she is, she's still just a child.
Hermione seemed to want to demonstrate her magic, but William pressed her furry head down, silencing her.
"Alright, we're just here to hand out flyers. Here you go, we should be going now. Oh, by the way, Ron, your new wand is with your Fred."
Goodbye!"
After the others left, Ron watched William's retreating figure with envy.
Harry rubbed his panda eyes and asked, "Who is he?"
"William Stark... is almost as famous as you, I mean, certainly not as famous, but he's still pretty impressive. Haven't you seen the recent papers?" Ron asked.
"Oh, no, my uncle and aunt won't Hedwig leave the cage."
"But I've heard Hagrid mention it; he's said it many times."
"Of course! William captured a Death Eaters and became the youngest recipient of the Order of Merlin," Ron said with extreme envy.
"Before the attack on Gringotts, all the newspapers were talking about him... He even invited my dad and brother to a party, which made Percy jealous all summer."
They brought back some golden chocolates, and I got a piece. It wasn't much, but it was delicious. I think those chocolates must be very hard to get.
"Was William also from a wizarding family?" Harry asked.
Based on Ron's description and the situation just now, he realized that the other party was very powerful.
At least Malfoy was very afraid of William.
"No, he's from Muggle family too, but there are always geniuses in this world," Ron said in an exaggerated tone.
"My Percy is also a good student; he even became Prefect this year. But nobody in our family calls him a genius. What he does, my older Bill has also done, so it's not surprising."
"But William is different. He's a true genius. All my brothers say so, including the always arrogant Percy!"
My brother Charlie, who went to Romania to study dragons, thinks so too.
"Which house is he from?" Harry asked.
"Ravenclaw, a house that loves to read."
"I don't know which house I'll be sorted into," Harry said.
"No matter which college I'm assigned to, I don't want to be grouped with that girl named Granger. She's absolutely awful!"
Ron mimicked Hermione's manner of speaking, snorting and muttering, "Did you see that look in her eyes? So what if you're good at studying?"
Harry didn't say anything, but what he was thinking was that being good at studying really does allow you to do whatever you want!
Ron tossed the wand into the suitcase.
"This spell doesn't work; George told me so. I bet he knew it was a dud all along and was just trying to fool me."
"But this could also be related to my old wand," Ron offered another reason.
"William just said he'd give you a new wand. Did he buy it from Mr. Ollivander?" Harry asked.
"Oh, of course not. I heard Fred say that Cedric did it himself."
Who is Cedric?
"He's a young wizard in Hufflepuff, currently in third grade, but he's also an exceptionally good student, ranking first in his grade."
"But can a little wizard make wands?" Harry had never heard of such a thing before.
"I don't know either, but I heard from George that Cedric worked as an apprentice at Ollivander's shop for a long time, and they're both geniuses." Ron with some envy.
"They are all good friends, all very outstanding. They are a group, inseparable all the time. They even opened a shop specializing in selling all sorts of interesting little gadgets."
My mom found some during summer vacation, and Fred then hid the materials under my bed.
They even promised to give me a Hogwarts Map... those maps are very valuable, they'd sell them, but I'm their brother, so of course they couldn't take my money."
Ron boasted a little.
Harry picked up the GG list on the table; it contained a large number of products, with the Hogwarts Map at the very top.
He opened his mouth in surprise, as if he could fit a Goyle inside.
Hagrid said all the young wizards are about the same level... that doesn't seem very reliable.
