You're Already a Grown-up Treasure Detector
night,
William and Cho left the Ravenclaw lounge and headed down to the first floor.
As a seasoned night owl, William no longer needed Bobocha, the cat, to seduce Mrs. Norris.
He could dodge Filch even with his eyes closed.
However, tonight I'll still obediently hold the Hogwarts Map and keep an eye on the surrounding movements.
There's a reason for being so cautious.
The nighttime tourism industry has been sluggish this semester, encountering the most severe black swan event yet.
Not only has the number of people going out at night plummeted, but the number of people being arrested has also increased exponentially.
The root of all evil is... Mad-Eye Moody.
Ever since he came to the school, he has launched various nighttime capture operations codenamed "Dragon's Sleep".
I don't know where they got so much energy, staying up late at night searching for students in the hallways.
With his magical eyes, he can even see through Invisibility Cloak. Coupled with his powerful tracking skills, he's like a precisely guided rocket.
Unless they hide in the Room of Requirement, any student who wanders into the area he's searching at night will almost certainly be discovered.
Previously, Filch was considered lucky if he could catch a few students in half a semester; now Moody can catch five or six in one night.
The efficiency is simply astonishing!
When students are caught, they not only lose points but are also put in solitary confinement. After this happened a few times, not many people dared to go out at night anymore, and they all stayed obediently in the rest room.
The school's atmosphere has become utterly decadent!
There's a lot of criticism of Moody's. What kind of behavior is this?
This is hindering communication between the Four Houses!
You think everyone really wants to go out at night? No, everyone's using the excuse of going out at night to make friends!
Each night out effectively expands my social circle, and if I'm lucky, I might even meet girls from other departments.
Sometimes, a single glance or gesture is enough for people to instantly understand where danger lies.
Without realizing it, cooperation was strengthened and tacit understanding was developed.
Even more extreme, some have developed relationships that go beyond friendship.
Cedric, being the social butterfly of Hogwarts, received many hints from boys who wanted to hang out with him in the Prefects' Bathroom.
But now all of that is gone, completely destroyed by Professor Moody!
The students had complaints, and Filch wasn't too happy either.
In his view, Moody's actions were simply defiant, an attempt to steal his job.
If you arrest all the students, doesn't that make him look incompetent?
Fortunately, William and Qiu didn't run into Old Moody tonight.
They quickly arrived at the door, where Cedric was already waiting.
"Hurry up, the storm could start any minute now," Cedric urged.
"Drink this first." William handed over a very small bottle.
You need a bit of luck tonight.
"Oh, it's Felix Felicis!" Qiu stared at the bottle.
Cedric took it, shook it, and asked, "So little?"
William rolled his eyes. "Drinking too much will have the opposite effect."
"William, aren't we going to drink?" Qiu asked expectantly.
"Cedric's luck is enough," he explained.
Felix Felicis should not be taken too frequently. Such a good thing should, of course, be taken when it is most needed.
William had already figured out a good time to drink Felix Felicis; he certainly wouldn't drink it tonight.
"Qiu, are you sure you want to try it tonight?" he asked again.
Even if you drank it, at most you'd be "lucky" enough to help Cedric complete the Animagus.
"Forget it then, I won't use my luck on him." Qiu quickly shook her head. "That would be too wasteful."
Cedric felt as if he had been stabbed in the heart.
He quickly poured Felix Felicis into his mouth, hoping to change his luck and resist this heart-wrenching pain.
"How are you feeling?" Qiu asked eagerly.
Cedric didn't answer; instead, he closed his eyes.
It was an incredibly stimulating feeling that flowed through my entire body, as if there were endless opportunities.
He felt he could do anything... completing the Animagus would be a piece of cake.
"Excellent, absolutely excellent. Alright... we should go to Hagrid's now."
"Hagrid?" Qiu asked in surprise, "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm absolutely certain. Trust me."
Cedric reached out and pinched Cho's cheek, then walked outside, not even using Disillusionment Charm —he was incredibly arrogant.
Qiu's face flushed instantly, and she turned to ask, "William, are you sure he didn't overdose?"
I almost couldn't resist chopping off his claws!
"He didn't overdose. Normally, you would have definitely hit him, but you didn't... which already shows he's very lucky," William laughed.
"Also, if he overdosed, he's not going to Hagrid now, but instead he's yelling that he'll take the two of us to slay a dragon."
Qiu was speechless.
The three crossed the meadow and soon arrived at Hagrid's Hut, then hid in a watermelon patch on the side.
Last year, William suggested planting some watermelons. Hagrid then converted part of his pumpkin patch into watermelons.
He also used Engorgement Charm, and a watermelon became almost as big as a carriage.
The lights in the cabin were still on; Hagrid didn't seem to have any intention of going to sleep.
A moment later, he opened the wooden door, revealing a large bouquet of flowers tucked into his suit pocket.
It looks incredibly flashy.
Fang wanted to go out with Hagrid, but he chased her away.
"Hurry back, Fang, Olympe doesn't like dogs. Don't let her see you, it'll ruin her mood!"
Fang tucked its tail between its legs and let out a mournful howl, seemingly hurt by Hagrid's words.
Hagrid can only choose one: it or that dead woman.
Otherwise it will run away from home.
Make Hagrid regret it!
Hagrid paid no attention to Fang, straightened his clothes, and headed toward Beauxbatons ' carriage.
He walked to the carriage and knocked three times on the door marked with two crossed golden wands.
Madame Maxime opened the door. A purple silk shawl was draped over her very broad shoulders.
She smiled as soon as she saw Hagrid.
"Ah, Hagrid... is it time?"
"Well, good evening, Miss Maxime, who is even stronger than a dragon," Hagrid said.
Madame Maxime's face twitched slightly.
Who's stronger than a fire dragon?! Isn't that an insult?
She's very delicate; she can't even open a wine bottle cap!
Hagrid, seemingly oblivious to the problem with his words, smiled and said:
"Come on, I'll take you to see the precious treasure... But you absolutely mustn't tell anyone."
"Of course, I won't tell anyone," Maxi said with a forced smile.
"Where are they going?" Qiu peeked out, watching the two figures disappear into the distance.
"They've probably gone to see the fire dragons," William said, squinting. "Those big guys should be locked up in the Forbidden Forest."
"Doesn't Madame Maxime already know?"
"They definitely want to see it for themselves," Cedric replied. "We all know it's a fire dragon, but we still don't know the specifics of the First Task."
"That's right," William nodded. "It can't be fighting a fire dragon; it's too dangerous, and there are too many Champion."
"Let's go take a look too." Qiu looked up at the sky.
The clouds are still gathering, and there is no chance of rain in the near future.
"Wait a little longer..." Cedric said, grabbing Qiu's hand.
The three of them crouched low and soon spotted a furtive figure running from the other side of the Black Lake.
--Headmaster Karkaroff
Karkaroff, wearing a hooded cloak, moved furtively forward, then looked back.
After confirming that no one was around, they chased Hagrid towards the Forbidden Forest.
"He must have been on the ship and saw Hagrid and Madame Maxime," Qiu whispered.
Hagrid and Maxime were so tall, and Hagrid didn't lower his voice, that it was hard for them not to be noticed.
"Let's go this way," Cedric said, leading the way.
It was less of a guide and more of a scavenging trip.
Cedric was incredibly lucky; he encountered a Porlock less than 500 meters away.
It was too timid; upon seeing the three people, it panicked and ran away without thinking. Then, it crashed headfirst into a tree trunk and immediately lost consciousness.
"Great." William picked up the Porlock.
"I have a Abraxan, and I'm just missing a Porlock."
Porlock would protect the horses, groom them regularly, and feed them scraps.
After walking about ten meters, Cedric suddenly jumped up and trampled something to death.
The group looked down and discovered it was a Moke.
"What a coincidence, I was just about to need a wallet," Qiu said happily.
The skin of the Moke is exceptionally valuable because it can be used to make wallets. Wallets made from this material will suddenly retract when a stranger approaches.
Therefore, it is very difficult for thieves to steal it.
Both of them looked at Cedric as if they were looking at a giant Niffler.
"What are you waiting for? Hurry up and go treasure hunting!" Qiu urged. "Tonight, you were the only one who took Felix Felicis."
"Look in the Forbidden Forest for gold mines or something."
Cedric was utterly speechless.
Was he here tonight for the Animagus, or was he just here to be a tool for the two of them?
Who exactly is Felix Felicis for?
