An Explanation of the Recent Plot
Because of a recent plot development that has generated controversy, I feel compelled to dedicate a separate chapter to explain it.
First of all, it's definitely my fault, without a doubt.
The novel's pot is full of ingredients, Yaya alone occupies eight-tenths of it.
If the writing isn't good enough, but you still want to change the original plot... making a plot change based on the protagonist's appearance and the resulting butterfly effect will naturally confuse many readers.
I've always believed that if readers can't understand the plot, it's solely the author's problem.
Now, let's go back to the recent plot.
Before we begin, we need to clarify two issues, which can also be considered the two major rules governing Ravenclaw Ring.
First, the scope of application.
This concept, repeatedly mentioned since the Ravenclaw Bronze Ring Scroll, refers to the time loop's scope being confined to Hogwarts.
This concept has been explained in previous chapters, so I won't go into too much detail here.
In other words, because of Ravenclaw's magic, William cannot leave the Hogwarts area.
If you leave, you will die.
As for why Ravenclaw did this, that involves another foreshadowing element that runs throughout the entire story, which will be explained later.
Second, the conditions for escaping the time loop.
Before William enters the cycle, he will have an urgent idea or a goal in his mind.
It's a bit like the Room of Requirement; you have to make a request in your mind for the room to appear and take the shape you want.
Once a goal is set, William cannot escape the time loop if he fails to achieve it.
This issue was mentioned during the Tywin incident.
The goal at the time was to understand the Tywin incident and how he died.
The same thing happened in the Voldemort -Quirrell incident the following year.
Without achieving this goal, one cannot escape the time loop.
In order to increase his strength, William usually deliberately avoids completing tasks in the early stages, in order to improve his personal strength.
In other words, it involves various tricks and manipulations related to time loops.
But these are all things he deliberately avoided doing, and there is also an objective reason why he couldn't do them.
So, what forms does this objective impossibility take?
Combining the first condition, William cannot leave Hogwarts.
Therefore, this goal cannot involve anything outside of Hogwarts.
Once it involves anything outside of Hogwarts, William cannot leave the school and therefore cannot complete his work.
For example, if William sets his goal as going to the Ministry of Magic, he simply cannot do it.
Having assumed these two rules, let's return to the most recent plot.
Harry, Krum, and Ron are all dead; their bodies are all inside Hogwarts.
Both William and Dumbledore believed that the whole thing happened inside Hogwarts.
What William needs to do is find out the cause of death of several people.
This is his goal, and also the necessary and sufficient condition for leaving the cycle.
But William discovered, within the time loop, that Krum had been teleported away by the Winky Apparition.
Winky only listens to Barty Crouch Jr. the Barty Crouch Jr., who is with Voldemort again.
Voldemort had no reason to need Krum; he only needed Harry.
Therefore, William deduced that Harry was no longer at Hogwarts.
These speculations have been mentioned repeatedly in the preceding text and are logically sound.
This leads to a contradiction.
William needs to investigate the deaths of several people, but Harry is no longer actually at the school.
William has to get out.
But he couldn't leave because of the first rule.
This is the objective reality of being unable to complete the task and getting stuck in a time loop.
Therefore, the only option is to make a deal with Vivian.
This deal was unavoidable; only she could break Ravenclaw's magic and get William out.
When you can only trade with one person, and that person is in a marketplace with information asymmetry, it's possible to get ripped off.
Also, as mentioned earlier, Dumbledore didn't want William to stop Voldemort.
The reason is simple: Voldemort is not in Hogwarts.
If William sets such a goal, he will get stuck in a time loop.
But now William has to face Voldemort, and these two things are not contradictory.
It wasn't that William wanted to go, but that Harry was with Voldemort, and he had to go.
I'll explain this while I'm taking a break, and also ask for some recommendation votes.
Yaya only had this one request, a request that would last a lifetime.
