Combat Training
Professor Flitwick, slightly drunk, let out a burp.
"Professor Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald, repelled the You-Know-Who, and is also a prolific scholar... I respect him, he is truly remarkable!"
But the principal is old and hasn't fought in many years. I wonder if he still has 60% of his peak strength.
Professor Flitwick shook his head regretfully.
Professor McGonagall is beautiful, has a good personality, and possesses an intellectual charm.
Her Transfiguration are far beyond my reach, but in combat, I could take her down without even needing a wand.
As for Professor Snape, I can't figure him out!
However, he has applied for the Defence Against Dark Magic position for so many years without success, which suggests he lacks the necessary skills. Otherwise, why wouldn't Professor Dumbledore have offered him the position?
Professor Flitwick gulped down several more mouthfuls, his intoxication growing stronger.
William asked worriedly, "Professor, shouldn't you drink more?"
Who knows how many beers Professor Flitwick drank could get this drunk? He didn't even give him a chance to eat peanuts!
"It's nothing..." Professor Flitwick hiccuped. "Let's continue our conversation."
In a short while, William heard many more little secrets about the professors from Professor Flitwick.
"William, I'm here... inviting you to join my Dueling Club."
"Dueling Club?" This was the first time William had ever heard of such a club.
"I've been holding this event for many years, but it's only for students in fifth grade and above."
William, you're only a freshman, but a genius like you, being Ravenclaw House student, always gets preferential treatment, hehe."
"Okay." William nodded and quickly indicated that he would participate.
But since Professor Flitwick is a martial arts master, why bother looking for club students? Just go directly to Professor Flitwick.
This is the best master at feeding techniques!
"Professor, what advice do you have regarding Transfiguration?"
"Transfiguration?" Professor Flitwick seemed to regain some of his senses upon hearing William's question.
"Child, don't try to do too much at once. Besides, I suggest you consult Professor McGonagall; she's the real expert in this field."
Transfiguration has no fixed incantations; it mostly relies on one's own understanding. Therefore, unless one has exceptional talent, guidance from a professor is especially necessary.
William nodded.
Professor Flitwick is right. Even now, he hasn't been able to Transfiguration many of the things Professor McGonagall mentioned with great skill.
William decided to practice these first to solidify his foundation before moving on to the next material.
"Professor Flitwick, I'll be leaving now. I'll come back to you next time I have any questions." William stood up.
Professor Flitwick was so drunk he was almost asleep; he was slumped over the table, muttering something unintelligible.
William draped a blanket over him and then turned to leave.
After leaving Professor Flitwick's office, William decided to find a quiet place to study.
The Room of Requirement should have been the best place.
But Tywin will soon be there, and then he'll get bitten by Fluffy. William isn't ready to face Tywin directly.
He decided to study at the library.
Madam Pince, standing on a ladder, was sorting books.
When she saw William enter, her expression changed, and she stared at him with extreme vigilance.
It seems incredibly disrespectful for William to be studying here instead of watching the game at this time.
William sat down at a table and picked up several spellbooks that Professor Flitwick had recommended to him.
But before she could look for long, Madam Pince came over in a hurry.
"Child, something has happened at school. Professor Dumbledore requires all students to return to their respective houses. Please leave immediately!"
William was somewhat speechless. He thought he might need to learn the Disillusionment Charm. Otherwise, with the school prohibiting him from leaving every day, William wouldn't be able to hide himself, which would be very troublesome during the day.
William wandered around for a while before finally heading to the Room of Requirement.
Dumbledore has placed the entire school under martial law, which means Tywin is dead. He wants to see if he can find the second ring.
William walked alone down the corridor, avoiding Peeves, and entered the Room of Requirement.
Just like yesterday, Fluffy lay in the corner, licking his wounds, and whining for food whenever he saw William.
William pried open its mouth and found the door knocker inside.
It was indeed a door knocker, not a ring like the one on William's index finger.
It seems there's only one Ravenclaw Ring, and once the time loop starts, this door knocker becomes a regular door knocker.
William's ambition to become the Lord of the Rings failed.
After that, William would come to Professor Flitwick every day to ask him for advice on fighting techniques.
Training is not a simple matter, and although Professor Flitwick has free time in the mornings, he will not fight with young wizards casually.
But after several cycles, William had basically figured out Professor Flitwick's preferences.
William only needed to praise the other professors a few times, then mention that Flitwick was even more capable in combat; a few words were enough to make him happy.
If William were to reveal Flitwick's comments about other professors, Flitwick would consider William a close friend and vow to pass on his mantle to him.
This method always works.
Of course, before the fight began, William had spent some time training his arm strength in a loop.
According to Professor Flitwick, holding the wand firmly is the most basic requirement; it should feel like your own hand. If you can't even do that, then you shouldn't be fighting.
So William raised his hands to shoulder height and lifted his wand. However, he failed the first time, not even lasting half an hour.
Holding the wand with both hands and raising it isn't too difficult at first, but as time goes by, the wand becomes as heavy as a brick.
William practiced for many days before he could remain motionless for two hours without his wand tilting.
Fortunately, the soreness disappeared the next day during the cycle, and muscle memory was retained; otherwise, William's training would have been delayed for a long time.
After training with Professor Flitwick for a week, William made rapid progress.
A young wizard who undergoes systematic training will experience a period of rapid progress.
Overconfident, he knocked Robert unconscious while everyone was away and took his place.
William's combat skills were extremely immature, unlike those of a dark wizard like Professor Tywin.
Tywin was there to kill, and William only lasted two moves before being brutally murdered, lying in a pool of blood.
His eyes were also gouged out by Tywin and hung on the wall; the sight was utterly gruesome.
Fortunately, he was in a time loop, so William could be resurrected and go back in time; otherwise, he wouldn't have dared to do something so reckless.
However, from then on, William never dared to go to Tywin again, and he began to patiently learn real skills from Professor Flitwick.
Soon, forty cycles had passed.
