Praise The Fool!
Students who choose Divination after sixth grade generally fall into two categories.
One type is like William, a "good" student who has extra learning capacity and wants to collect all the certificates.
It's like he's collecting the Dragon Balls; although he can't summon them, Trelawney always manages to bring surprises.
That's right, William is just taking advantage of her for free, waiting for the day she becomes a great Seer again!
William will then receive a few more Prophecy... hehe.
Another type of student continues to take the course... most of them are quite devoted to Professor Trelawney and are her followers.
Therefore, everyone looked expectantly at Professor Trelawney, hoping she would cast a spell on Umbridge, that old toad.
On one side are the students' eagerly expectant eyes; on the other is the boss's inspection, which determines whether or not they can keep their jobs.
Trelawney wanted to give him the cold shoulder right then and there.
But she spent almost all the money she won from betting on soccer last summer.
Before achieving financial freedom, how dare you openly confront your boss?
With slightly trembling hands, she tightened the shawl wrapped around her body, and through her thick glasses, her voice trembled:
Today we continue learning how to make Prophecy using tarot cards.
"Please pair up and, with the help of ' Into Tarot Cards,' interpret each other's futures."
Autumn opened her textbook, took out a deck of Carrow cards, and tossed it to William.
Tarot cards, known as the "treasury of nature's secrets," are also the most complex part of Divination.
It contains 78 cards, including 22 Major Arcana cards and 56 Minor Arcana cards. These can be used separately for Divination or all 78 cards can be used together for Divination.
Each card has a complex meaning, and the interpretation can vary drastically depending on how it is interpreted.
As the one seeking answers, William began to skillfully shuffle the cards.
To begin, place the tarot cards face down, stacked neatly in your hand.
Concentrate your mind, don't think about anything, follow your will, draw a stack of cards from the middle of the deck, and place it on top of the deck.
But William didn't seem to be shuffling Carrow; he was shuffling poker. His various tricks showcased the brilliance of a gambling master.
The students all looked at him, trying to learn some tricks, and then they all started juggling.
Just like pen spinning and book spinning, no one knows who invented them, but they always manage to become popular among students in the shortest amount of time.
Trelawney coughed a few times and glared at William.
She's in trouble now, and you're not only not helping her, but you're also causing trouble.
William immediately stopped what he was doing and laid the Carrow cards out on the table.
He followed the steps, drew a card, and saw that it read:
A young man, wearing a laurel wreath and magnificent clothes, walks along the edge of a cliff.
He held an hourglass in his left hand and carried a long wooden stick on his right.
The Fool.
The Fool Card, with the number zero, is the first card of the Tarot deck and can also be considered the last card.
Qiu Qi picked up her textbook, consulted the book, and solemnly explained:
"The Fool, dressed in brightly colored clothes and wearing a laurel wreath symbolizing success, ignores the cliff ahead and strides forward with his head held high."
His right hand gently gripped a wooden staff, but it was no ordinary stick; it was a scepter, a symbol of power.
This means, William, that you have wisdom and strength.
There may be some minor dangers ahead, but they will all turn out well and there is nothing to fear...
Praise the Fool!
William laughed out loud.
If you can talk, then talk more!
"Come on, let me see!" Trelawney swaggered over, glared at William, and snatched the Fool Card.
She glanced at it only once, her hand on her heart, her eyes tightly shut, and exclaimed:
"My dear child... Oh, Merlin's Carrow cards, oh dear, oh dear."
The students all looked at William with tension, as if he were about to die.
"The flower crown represents wisdom."
"The hourglass represents the power of time in the process of transformation," she said, pointing to the wooden stick.
"The flower crown transformed into a wooden stick, and wisdom metamorphosed into power. The Fool without intelligence, even if he wields great power, is doomed to die..."
Trelawney looked at William sadly, as if he were about to fall off a cliff.
William scoffed... "Can't you just shut up if you can't speak properly?!"
"But your explanation is different from the textbook..." Umbridge interjected in a coquettish voice.
"Tarot readings aren't something you can just follow blindly; they require adaptability, experience, and knowledge. Otherwise, anyone could do Divination," Trelawney said coolly.
She was somewhat unhappy when it involved her major.
"So," Umbridge looked up at Trelawney and said, "You've become quite experienced in Divination?"
Trelawney glared at her, crossed her arms, and shrugged her shoulders, as if the other's words were incredibly rude.
"I have worked diligently at this school for sixteen years. If I didn't have real skills and knowledge, would Professor Dumbledore have allowed me to continue in this position?"
Go ask around about my Divination abilities; even the principal wouldn't dare question them.
Professor McGonagall would occasionally bow to me and ask when Gryffindor would win the Quidditch championship;
Professor Flitwick also asks me to do Divination for matters of marriage...
Judging from Trelawney's tone, she's a fan of all the Hogwarts professors; she's the school's hidden queen.
How much sherry did you drink...? Even if you just had a couple of rounds of Avada Kedavra, you wouldn't dare get this drunk.
Umbridge scribbled a few notes on the whiteboard and then asked, "So, Professor Dumbledore appointed you?"
"That's right," Professor Trelawney said crisply. "He's asked me to come out of retirement many times!"
"Are you the great-great-granddaughter of the famous Seer Cassandra Trelawney?"
"Yes." Trelawney raised her head even higher, as haughty as a hen that had just laid an egg.
"But I think—and you can correct me if I'm wrong—you're the first person in your family... with a Second Sight since Cassandra?"
"These things often happen across generations... well... it's not surprising if it happens three generations later." Professor Trelawney somewhat guiltily.
"But I heard that you dropped out of school after finishing first grade and didn't get your OWL and NEWT certificates for Divination?"
Trelawney seemed offended and shouted:
"The year I enrolled in school, I awakened my vision. No one at the school could teach me, so I had to go home and receive special training!"
Certificates don't mean anything! So many of my students have gotten certificates!
Professor Umbridge's toad-like mouth grinned even wider, and she whispered:
"I understand, his educational background is that he dropped out of school in his first year..."
She suddenly changed the subject. "I've also heard that if you join your paid tutoring class, you can help others open their Inner Eye?"
"That wasn't a tutoring center, it was a club." Trelawney's face turned bright red.
"Just like Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration Club and Professor Flitwick's Dueling Club... professors have the right to run these kinds of clubs."
She was making a final struggle.
"Hmm," Umbridge said DiDi, "Alright, I wonder if you could open my Inner Eye for me?"
"I've helped so many people open [businesses] lately, and I'm completely exhausted. It's so draining..."
Umbridge shifted his posture and asked:
"Then help me make Prophecy?"
Professor Trelawney tensed up instantly, seemingly unable to believe her ears.
"I don't understand what you mean." She clutched the shawl wrapped around her thin neck.
"I want you to make a Prophecy for me!" Professor Umbridge said Chuchu.
"Are you questioning me?" Trelawney, somewhat annoyed. "I made so Galleon betting on football last summer, using my Prophecy..."
"Please, make Prophecy for me!"
"If you insist..." Trelawney stared at Umbridge.
"I... I think I really saw something... it's about you... ah, I sensed something."
Something yellow... extremely disgusting, dangerous... surrounds you...
Professor Trelawney pointed at Professor Umbridge with a trembling finger.
You will encounter terrible danger!
Autumn whispered to William with a smile, "Professor Trelawney's Prophecy will surely come true tonight."
William fiddled with the Fool Card, thinking about Trelawney's recent Prophecy to him, and grinned:
Praise the Fool!
