Malfoy Wanted to Become the Golden Snitch
Compared to Slytherin's weak players, Gryffindor's main problem is the absence of its members.
After team leader Angelina and the twins left the team, the lion cubs became an optimistic family.
The optimistic group insisted that, with Harry leading the way, they could at least secure second place, if not the finals.
Unfortunately, Katie got injured at that moment.
She will not be discharged from the hospital anytime soon, which means that the Gryffindor Quidditch Team will be missing a Chaser.
He's a veteran with six years of experience, a true pillar of the locker room.
Harry, the new captain, feels like he's having a really tough time.
He didn't want to find someone to replace Katie and wanted to wait for her to return, but after asking William, he received devastating news:
Katie will be out for nine to ten weeks, and won't be back until at least after Christmas.
In this desperate situation where one person can't handle it all, Harry really wanted to feign illness and take a sick leave, like a groin strain.
As the first game approached, and after several urgings from Professor McGonagall, he finally had to accept the reality that Katie couldn't come back.
So here's the question: in this emergency, who will take the blame... oops, I mean, the Chaser?!
Harry was so anxious that he got blisters on his lips every day; he didn't want to suffer a crushing defeat in his first game as captain.
They still lost to Slytherin!
After much deliberation, Harry decided to add his roommate Dean to the team, temporarily making him the Chaser.
This is undoubtedly a controversial choice, especially allowing one's roommate to join the team without a second selection process.
It's somewhat like a Ponzi scheme.
Rumors began circulating at Hogwarts again, saying that Potter liked Dean and wanted to play Quidditch his partner.
If the pressure from public opinion was too great, that would be one thing, but Harry also offended his other roommate Seamus and his best friend Ron.
Needless to say, Seamus and Dean both participated in the Chaser selection and were eliminated at the same time.
Although I was initially upset, I could accept that we were both rejected.
The two even had a comforting meal together, and when they returned to the dorm that night, Seamus was still comforting Dean in bed, telling him not to be too sad.
Then... Dean was added to the roster.
How could Seamus possibly accept this?!
Ron was the most upset.
He believes that he wasn't selected as goalkeeper because of his injury; otherwise, McLaggen would have had no chance at all.
They're missing a Chaser. He's never played that position before, but his whole family are Quidditch experts.
With such a family tradition, even if we haven't eaten dragon meat, we've at least seen dragons fly, right?
Isn't it better than those rotten fish and shrimp?
Ron considered himself an all-powerful pentagon, just waiting for Harry to find him, pat him on the shoulder, and ask:
"Hey Ron, wanna play Brother Quidditch with me?"
Ron waited during the day, waited at night, waited in class, waited after class... but in the end, Harry chose Dean!
What upset Ron the most was that, based on their Harry, people outside referred to them as the "Iron Couple."
Harry didn't choose him... This friendship is over!
Harry, the person involved, is also in great pain.
He used to only see Dean and Ginny showing affection during meals, but now they're even doing it during training.
The sight of all the displays made his scalp tingle, and he felt like he was losing hair.
He suddenly understood why Professor Snape didn't like washing his hair.
Has he also been the subject of public displays of affection?
However, Gryffindor soon received good news.
During a practice match, Slytherin's Chaser, Vaisey, was hit in the head by Bludger and will be out for two weeks.
Most importantly, Malfoy also took sick leave.
The once clear situation has become unpredictable again, no wonder both teams are being called the doomsday of gamblers.
Saturday,
The opening match has finally begun.
Early in the morning, the stadium was bustling with activity, and the stands were filled with students.
The host has also been changed to a tall, thin boy with blond hair and a flat nose.
The host is Zacharias Smith of Hufflepuff, but he's only a temporary replacement.
This position is hard to find... You need to be able to control the flow of the conversation, know how to use witty banter, be passionate, and be impartial when providing commentary.
Most importantly, you need to be able to strike up an awkward conversation.
There was one match that was paused for four hours in the middle.
He only managed to get through the situation thanks to the host's repeated awkward conversations, even bringing up his childhood bedwetting.
As for Li, aside from his biased commentary, his penchant for making extra money, his tendency to cheat on others, his swearing, his ability to stir up trouble, and his manipulation of players' mentality, he is also a great host.
This semester, Professor McGonagall interviewed many students for this position.
Smith was only there temporarily to preside over the event, as a kind of observation.
He held the magic microphone and shouted:
"I think everyone breathed a sigh of relief seeing the team that Potter has cobbled together this semester."
Goalkeeper Ron Weasley had a terrible season last semester; his various classic, disastrous plays are still fresh in our minds.
Now he's finally been kicked out by Potter.
I thought he could get back into the team because of his close personal relationship with the captain.
Although he's been saying this a lot lately, that he and Potter are so close they're practically inseparable.
But clearly, Potter still had some sense left...
These words earned him both ridicule and cheers from the Slytherin on the other side of the court.
Harry glared at Smith, wanting to throw the Quaffle at his face.
Smith raised his hand and cheered, "Slytherin's Malfoy is also on leave, supposedly because of an upset stomach."
I, however, think his decision to take leave was a very wise one.
Because a piece of technical data shows:
In the past three years, he has faced Potter in 28 games, winning only nine. He can be considered Potter's favorite son.
Of course, Malfoy's Ravenclaw, led by Stark, was even more outrageous, suffering a complete defeat.
Malfoy is practically Stark's grandson; I'd call his behavior a kind of "history phobia"!
All the students burst into laughter.
Professor McGonagall frowned; she had already passed on Smith.
But who will be the next applicant?
Okay, it's Luna Lovegood... doesn't seem very reliable either.
While the students were still mocking her, Madam Hooch had already launched the Quaffle.
"The two captains shake hands, mount their brooms, and listen to my whistle... three... two... one..."
As soon as the whistle blew, all the players pushed off the frozen ground and rose into the air.
The corridor on the Seventh Floor,
Surprisingly, Malfoy did not get angry while listening to the host's words.
Perhaps he was afraid of being discovered, or perhaps the sunlight was too dazzling, he quietly pressed himself against the wall next to the window, secretly watching the Quidditch match.
How he wished he could ride a flying broomstick and soar freely across the field, like a bird.
Instead of being like a rat that has fallen into a snake pit, constantly in danger of being swallowed up.
but...
There's no going back.
He gripped his left arm tightly.
The day he was branded with the Dark Mark by the Dark Lord and became a Death Eaters, he knew...
I can never go back to that carefree life I once had.
Malfoy felt that weak tear well up in his eye again.
He hated it, but didn't wipe it off.
Only when no one is around is he unafraid to expose his emotions and cry whenever he wants!
Killing Dumbledore and Stark... the Dark Lord gave him an impossible task.
I want to send him to his death!
But what could he do?!
If he hadn't agreed and hadn't become Death Eaters, his mother might have died at the Malfoy Manor that very day.
Malfoy didn't want to be a good guy, but he also didn't want to be a complete villain.
He just wanted to be a carefree playboy, a Malfoy family's son, flirting with Potter now and then, and then sending money to Akali Shop...
But he had no choice in the face of the Dark Lord!
Malfoy gritted his teeth, and cold tears fell into his mouth.
He broke down in tears, pleading weakly:
"Merlin, turn me into a Golden Snitch, fly as far as you can..."
Just then, a hand reached out and gently patted his left arm.
That's where the Dark Mark is located.
A rich, familiar voice rang in my ears:
"Draco, even if you become the Golden Snitch, you'll eventually be Seeker by the Seeker. You can't escape..."
At that moment, Malfoy's lips trembled and his whole body stiffened.
