A Plan for Land Parcels; Starfield's Astonishing Daily Revenue
Starfield Game Company.
After spending nearly a day searching online for land that was vacant or up for public auction, Deng Jiajia compiled her findings.
The company currently had plenty of liquid capital, so she had included some plots in the city center as well.
The most expensive plot was right in the city center. It covered 5,000 square meters, or 7.5 mu, and cost a staggering 1.4 billion yuan.
Besides that plot, there were several others near the city center, in locations comparable to their current one. A plot that size would cost around 800 to 900 million yuan.
There were also several plots outside the third ring road. Those were cheaper, costing only around 600 million yuan.
Of course, there were some even farther out. She compiled all these locations, then went to Su Ye's office and knocked on the door.
"Knock, knock, knock."
"Come in."
Deng Jiajia placed a stack of compiled information on the desk. On top was a map of Shencheng, with locations she had marked and numbered. She then said, "President Su, these are the plots of land in Shencheng I compiled today."
"The most expensive is a plot within the third ring road. It costs around 1.4 billion yuan."
"The cheapest are out by the outer ring road. Those plots are seven or eight mu each and range from 300 to 600 million yuan."
Su Ye picked up the map of Shencheng and studied it. The plots marked on it were all available for purchase.
His gaze swept straight past the city center and toward the outer ring.
It wasn't that he lacked money; eight mu simply wasn't enough.
Yes, he wanted more than just a company headquarters. If possible, he also wanted to plan for the future.
So the more land there was around it, the better. Although he wouldn't necessarily buy it all at once, he could make arrangements in advance.
As he looked at the marked areas, Su Ye's gaze settled on a huge tract of land in the distant suburbs.
It was at the farthest point reached by the Shencheng subway, toward the upper part of the map.
It lay to the left of Guangming Lake and below the Shencheng Institute of Technology. The location was excellent, with a subway line nearby. Although it was somewhat far from the city center, it was a good place as far as he was concerned.
"This is the place. Come with me to the Shencheng Land Bureau in a little while."
Su Ye checked the time. It was already afternoon, and if they waited any longer, the people there would probably have gone home. He added, "Actually, let's go now."
"Get your things together and come with me."
With that, he gathered his belongings and took Deng Jiajia downstairs.
As he drove, Su Ye went over the land in his head again.
It was a huge area, big enough that subsequent development would present absolutely no pressure.
With Guangming Lake beside it, the scenery and surroundings were first-rate. Its only drawback was its distance from the city center.
But they were an internet company, so being in the city wasn't much of a requirement. As long as the place gave him enough room to work, that was enough.
He drove for an hour and finally arrived at the Guangming District Planning and Natural Resources Administration.
After entering, Su Ye went straight to the front desk to ask about the situation.
"I'd like to ask about the current status of the parcels of land to the left of Guangming Lake."
Hearing Su Ye's voice, the staff member looked up. He raised his eyebrows at Su Ye's age, then searched on the computer.
"This area is industrial land held in Guangming District's key reserve. It's designated M0 industrial research and development land, not purely commercial or residential land. It's intended primarily for corporate headquarters and R&D, as well as technology and innovation office development."
(Please don't apply this to reality. This is a parallel world.)
Su Ye nodded and continued, "Could I reserve all of these plots?"
The staff member froze.
The plots added up to several hundred mu, and he wanted to reserve them all by himself? Was he joking?
This was land their district had only recently set aside for development, and he wanted all of it?
He quickly recovered and said, "I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept reservations here."
"Land has to be listed on the land auction platform. It can't be reserved or sold privately."
Su Ye frowned. He hadn't expected it to be so troublesome.
Even so, he said, "How about this? Could you tell your superior that I want to buy all of it?"
"Well..."
Seeing Su Ye's expression, the staff member wasn't quite sure what to say. How much would it cost to buy all of it?
Could he really come up with tens of billions of yuan? He had to be joking.
Even so, he said, "Sir, I..."
Before he could finish, a voice came from the stairwell.
"Oh? You're saying you want to buy that whole tract of land?"
Su Ye looked toward the voice and saw a neatly dressed middle-aged man coming down the stairs.
He nodded. "My company is planning to build a headquarters, and I've taken a liking to this land. Could we talk about it?"
"I believe our company can make a significant contribution to the development of the whole district."
When a company brought enough benefits to an area, he believed the local authorities would surely offer some support.
Sure enough, after hearing Su Ye, the man asked, "What company are you from?"
"Starfield Game Company."
"Starfield Games?"
The middle-aged man frowned. How could a game company have so much money to build a headquarters?
It wasn't that he looked down on game companies. It was mainly that, as far as he knew, none of them made that much money.
However, the staff member behind the counter cried out in surprise when he heard Su Ye. "Starfield!?"
"Are you the Starfield Game Company that made Minecraft and PUBG!?"
He played both games himself, and he hadn't expected to find the company buying land today.
The middle-aged man, Zhang Zhiguo, frowned slightly and asked, "Xiao Li, what company is that?"
"Is it impressive?"
The staff member behind the counter hurriedly explained, "Director Zhang, Starfield Game Company could be considered the biggest game company in the entire gaming industry right now."
"Their games are, um... really fun."
"Uh..."
Zhang Zhiguo was at a loss for words. That explanation was as useful as a fart.
At that moment, Su Ye gave Deng Jiajia a look.
Deng Jiajia immediately understood what Su Ye meant. She quickly took a stack of figures out of her briefcase and said, "Director Zhang, this is our company's current revenue."
"Once you've looked it over, you should understand our company's strength."
Zhang Zhiguo took the documents from her, and his eyes widened when they fell on the company's daily revenue at the top.
Daily revenue exceeding 200 million yuan!?
Daily revenue!?
Th-this is a unicorn company? How can it make so much money?
After all, the companies in all of Shencheng with daily revenue exceeding 200 million yuan could truly be counted on one hand. A game company making over 200 million a day? Was this a joke?
