Trading Market; Xiao Dingdang and Mai Senpai
A few days later, the Xingye Gaming Platform received an update.
As soon as Xiao Dingdang started his stream, he saw that the gaming platform needed updating.
What was this update for? Could it be a new game?
Xiao Dingdang watched the gaming platform update, curious.
He glanced at his stream chat and spotted a few keywords.
[This platform update added a trading market. You can actually trade in-game skins on it.]
[Seriously? Does that mean I can trade the skin I claimed yesterday?]
[Uh... your skin is worth a few cents. You could sell it if you really wanted to.]
[A few cents? Uh... never mind, I'll keep it and wear it myself.]
[But I saw some rare skins listed for hundreds of yuan. Would anyone really buy them?]
[You seriously underestimate what rich players can do.]
A trading market? Game skins could be sold?
Xiao Dingdang's eyes lit up when he saw the key details.
You could actually sell game skins? Was that true?
Once the platform finished updating, the first thing Xiao Dingdang saw was a new feature in the navigation bar at the top.
[Trading market]
He clicked on it and saw a PUBG option below. Perhaps that was because it was currently the only game that supported the trading market.
After all, Minecraft didn't need one. Its skins were created by players.
Looking through the trading market, Xiao Dingdang noticed some of the game skins listed there.
There were jackets, pants, shoes, gun skins, and more.
All sorts of game skins were for sale here, though their prices varied.
Most could be bought for a few cents, while expensive ones went for tens or even hundreds of yuan.
Seeing these items, Xiao Dingdang couldn't help marveling.
The Starfield platform really was getting bigger and bigger. Now it even had something new like a trading market. He had no idea how Starfield had come up with it.
After that remark, Xiao Dingdang opened PUBG.
As he grew more familiar with the game, it seemed as though the blood in his veins had fallen in love with it. He felt awful if he didn't play every day.
After opening the game, Xiao Dingdang first claimed everything from the event before starting matchmaking.
The game had two main modes: normal matchmaking and ranked mode.
Xiao Dingdang preferred ranked to normal matchmaking.
As his rank rose, quite a few of the opponents he encountered had become skilled, and he could see some tactical positioning among them.
After grinding for points during this time, he had reached diamond rank.
It wasn't that his ability was limited to that level; he simply hadn't had enough time to climb higher. Other than him, there weren't actually many diamond-ranked players.
Most players were struggling in bronze and silver. After all, climbing the ranks took skill.
After opening the game, Xiao Dingdang invited a friend to join him.
A player with a female character dressed in a youthful school uniform and a short black skirt joined the team.
[Mai Senpai]
That was right. It was [Mai Senpai], the hidden expert who had been Chen Ze's teammate when Xiao Dingdang played Bed Wars against him.
After that match, Xiao Dingdang had added him as a friend, and they occasionally played Minecraft minigames together.
Once PUBG came out, the two of them played ranked together even more often.
It was worth noting that when someone had a talent for gaming, it often carried over to other games, especially games of the same type.
When Xiao Dingdang saw Mai Senpai join, he smiled and said, "Xiao Ma, let's push our ranks today."
"Let's see if we can make it near the top."
The game had only recently come out, and plenty of players were pushing for the leaderboard. They were going at it much harder than Xiao Dingdang, who slept normally.
They were determined to reach the top even if it meant going without sleep, all for the sake of fame.
Some smaller streamers in particular didn't even want to sleep as they pushed for the leaderboard and a name for themselves. They wouldn't stop until they'd put in ten or twenty hours a day.
Mai Senpai's rather overly youthful voice sounded over team chat.
"Okay, Brother Zuo. It's the weekend these two days, and I don't have any classes, hehe."
At Xiangshui University, Mai Senpai, a freshman, was wearing headphones as he spoke with a smile.
With finals approaching, some of his courses had already ended. He only had a few major classes left to attend, and there was no homework or anything. It was great.
As for exam week, ahem... he figured getting 60 points wouldn't be a problem.
He had no intention of securing a postgraduate recommendation anyway, so he might as well enjoy university life.
The game began, and the two worked together more and more seamlessly.
Usually, Xiao Dingdang would attack inside a building while Mai Senpai covered him from outside and harassed the enemy.
Of course, his aim wasn't bad either, though it was still a little worse than Xiao Dingdang's.
After clearing Pochinki, the two decisively chose to drive away.
As their ranks rose, it became less and less common for ten or twenty players to drop in the same place.
Players all knew they needed to gear up and manage their position early on, so by the time the circle shrank later in a match, there were often still more than ten teams left.
Xiao Dingdang and Mai Senpai drove to a mountaintop and lay prone, keeping a constant watch on their surroundings with the Kar98ks they had looted in Pochinki. Each took one side of the mountain, watching the fields and woods below through his scope.
Just then, Xiao Dingdang suddenly spotted a team emerging from the school in the distance.
He held his breath, focused, and pulled the trigger.
"Bang."
After Xiao Dingdang had pre-aimed his Kar98k, a bullet flew into the distance.
A notification appeared in the upper right, showing that Xiao Dingdang had gotten a kill.
Delighted, he kept firing his Kar98k, trying to pick off the rest of them.
But the enemy had already thrown smoke, and he couldn't see what was happening over there at all.
Suddenly, Mai Senpai shouted in his ear, "Brother Zuo, there are people on my side. They're coming for us."
Hearing that, Xiao Dingdang frowned slightly and hurriedly said, "I'll help you."
Normally, whoever spotted enemies first would take shots, and the other would come help if nothing was happening on his side.
But this time, there were people on both sides of the mountain, leaving Xiao Dingdang struggling to respond. He could only abandon the team he'd knocked one player from and hurry to support Mai Senpai.
"Vroom, vroom, vroom."
The sound of a car was already coming from halfway up the mountain. Perhaps because Xiao Dingdang had fired just now, the enemy knew someone was up there.
By the time Xiao Dingdang reached Mai Senpai, that team had already parked their car behind a large rock for cover.
Immediately afterward, grenades came flying toward them and exploded.
After each trying a shot, the two hurried to change positions and hold their angles again.
They could actually handle this team. After all, they had the high ground, fighting...
So even though there were only two of them, their solid aim still let them hold their own.
