Chen Ze's Tournament Plans; Preparing to Deal with Cheats
Chen Ze was livestreaming.
His phone received a message.
He picked it up and saw that it was a reply from Starfield Game Company.
He had told the official team today that he wanted to hold a tournament. They had told him to go ahead, as long as he didn't violate any rules or regulations.
Of course, there was one other requirement: he needed to fill out a reporting form and send it to Starfield before he could hold it.
He looked over the form. It was mostly just a list of things he couldn't do.
There were also questions about what his tournament would involve, when it would be held, and so on.
After filling out the form, Chen Ze sent it back, then looked at the livestream with a smile.
"Guys, I have something to tell you today."
"I'm planning to hold a tournament of my own and invite some Minecraft streamers to join in and play together."
"It'll be next week. If you want to watch, follow me and remember to tune in."
"As for what the tournament is about, that's a secret for now."
No sooner had Chen Ze finished speaking than the livestream chat went wild.
[Tournament?! Brother Ze, what kind of tournament are you holding?]
[Is it another Starfield Building Cup, like the one Starfield held last time?]
[Probably not. I think it might be something like a Bed Wars tournament.]
[Which streamers are coming? Brother Ze, can you give us a hint?]
[There are so many Minecraft streamers now, and a lot of them mainly play different modpacks.]
Chen Ze read the chat and smiled. "As for who's participating, all I can say is that they're Minecraft streamers."
"You'll find out who they are when the time comes."
"All right, that's it for today's stream. I'm going to get things ready for the tournament."
Chen Ze ended the stream and took out the tournament plan he had written over the past few days. He couldn't help smiling.
[Hundred Days of Mutation PvP Battle]
That was right. He planned to use a recently popular extreme survival modpack for the tournament.
He had played the modpack before, and its difficulty could be described as extreme.
He, for one, couldn't survive past day twenty.
When the time came, he would divide the Minecraft streamers into two teams. Both teams would have to survive for a hundred days, and the players who made it to the end would face off in a final PvP battle.
He had originally planned to throw all the streamers into Hundred Days of Mutation and see who could survive the longest.
But after watching their videos, he had discovered that, well... they all seemed to be better than him.
Some streamers had already beaten Hundred Days of Mutation, so he had changed the tournament format.
He had divided the streamers into two teams, with the winner to be decided in a final showdown.
He also planned to put undercover agents on both sides. The action was bound to be exciting.
The winning team would then compete in an individual sky-island PvP battle to decide the ultimate winner.
He believed that any streamer who emerged victorious after those two trials would definitely have the skills to back it up.
With that settled, he began sending notices to the gaming streamers he had contacted. They had already agreed beforehand, so he was just letting them know the time.
Meanwhile, the people who had been watching Chen Ze's stream were buzzing with excitement after he went offline.
Chen Ze was actually holding a tournament, and it seemed Minecraft streamers would be participating together.
Some people were already curious about which streamers would take part, and they flocked to various streamers' channels to ask.
In Da Sima's livestream.
He was lying in the grass, working out a survival-focused strategy for gaining rank points, when he saw the chat.
[Teacher Ma, Chen Ze said he was inviting a lot of streamers to a Minecraft tournament. Are you going?]
[Yeah, I heard the official team approved the tournament. Are you taking part?]
[What tournament? How come I didn't know about it?]
[Chen Ze is planning a Minecraft tournament and inviting gaming streamers to participate.]
[Huh? Why didn't anyone say so earlier? I'm going to check it out.]
Reading the chat, Da Sima smiled. "No, I'm not participating."
"He asked me before, but I'm grinding rank points in PUBG right now, so I'm not taking part."
"I'm telling you, this survival strategy of mine really has something to it."
The same questions appeared in the livestreams of other major gaming streamers.
But the streamers either said they weren't participating, pretended not to see the questions, or gave a mysterious smile.
In any case, nobody knew which streamers would be participating yet.
The next day.
News that Chen Ze was holding a tournament hit the trending searches. It didn't rank very high, but it was still a sign of his popularity and clout.
When Chen Ze saw it, he merely smiled and made no response.
He looked at the list he had compiled of participating streamers and couldn't help smiling.
When the time came... it would probably be a real spectacle.
With that thought, he had people begin preparing the server for the tournament.
Meanwhile.
At Starfield Game Company.
Luan Le'an arrived at Su Ye's office.
"President Su, over the past few days, we've gathered evidence on the people making cheats."
"What should we do now?"
At the mention of cheats, Su Ye asked, "Do we have enough evidence?"
"Yes, we have enough to conclusively identify the people who made them."
"Who are they?"
"Qisheng."
Su Ye wasn't surprised to hear the name.
It was only to be expected from a company that had risen through plagiarism.
"Anyone else?"
"Yes, there are also some individuals who tried making them on their own."
Su Ye nodded. "All right. Now that the evidence is ready, sue every last one of them."
"This isn't just a civil offense anymore. It's a criminal offense."
If they wanted to cause trouble, they could have a taste of the consequences.
He said in a low voice, "Go to the legal department and have them handle this. Make sure those guys pay the price."
Luan Le'an quickly nodded, then continued, "Oh, right, President Su. We've also finished developing cheat detection. Should we update the game now?"
Su Ye fell silent for a moment, then said, "There's no rush on that. Wait until the legal department has sued those guys."
"The people making the cheats haven't released them yet. Let them keep working on them without worrying for a while longer."
"Cheats haven't appeared in the game yet, so there's no rush."
"All right, President Su."
After leaving the office, Luan Le'an went to the legal department and handed the matter over to them.
The people in the legal department were immediately excited when they saw it.
The legal department had performance targets too. Although their base salaries were usually decent, they received performance bonuses for handling cases for the company.
They had received a sizable sum for suing Qisheng last time, so they were thrilled to see another case.
"Planner Luan, leave this to us."
"They actually dared to come after Starfield. If I, Zhang San, don't send them to prison to work sewing machines, I'll admit defeat."
P.S. I'm still figuring out how to write the Minecraft tournament, but I can guarantee it'll be exciting when the time comes.
Writing several streamers is genuinely difficult for me, though, and I need to plan it out. I don't want to mess up this arc, so I hope everyone can understand the difficulties I'm having writing it.
Some of your favorite streamers may appear more often than others. That's unavoidable. As for who's participating... it's a secret for now, hehe.
Oh, right, I'm Craftsman, and I type every word myself!!!
