Company Building Design
A few days later.
At Starfield Game Company.
Deng Jiajia came to Su Ye's office with a document.
"President Su, a game streamer online wants to hold a tournament and is asking what we think."
Su Ye, who had been drawing something on a sheet of paper, put down his pen and looked up.
"A tournament? Who wants to hold it?"
It was the first time he had seen a game streamer want to hold a tournament of his own in this world.
Who was so enterprising that he knew tournaments drew a lot of traffic?
Deng Jiajia placed a summary report on the desk. "A game streamer named Chen Ze."
"He said he wants to hold a Minecraft tournament for game streamers."
"He wants to know if we have any thoughts on it."
Su Ye picked up the submitted proposal and flipped through it. He hadn't expected Chen Ze to be such a natural at streaming. He was quick on the uptake, so it was no wonder his stream had so many viewers.
He put the proposal down on the desk. "All right, let him do as he likes."
"We don't have to be the ones organizing every tournament."
Su Ye had no objection to tournaments.
The more tournaments there were, the more it showed how lively a game was.
Why had Counter-Strike: Global Offensive remained popular for so long in his previous life? The game market was one factor, but tournaments were another important one.
Besides officially partnered tournaments, there were also plenty of community-run events.
They were divided into quite a few categories: S-tier, A-tier, B-tier, and so on.
It could be said that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments were broadcast from the beginning of the year to the end, with only a short break after the major. Other than that, they played continuously.
He planned to use that kind of tournament system for his own games, too.
In the future, the tournaments he held himself would be the absolute highest-tier events, while other organizers would be allowed to hold tournaments of their own. That was what a game needed to develop.
"Oh, right. Let the overseas market team know they can start rolling things out."
"Start the promotion with Minecraft."
Su Ye had thought of the overseas market and decided to begin promoting the game over the next few days.
Once the first domestic PUBG tournament was held next year, it would be the perfect time to release the overseas version of PUBG.
Deng Jiajia wrote down what Su Ye had said, then asked, "Oh, right, President Su, there's one more thing I need to tell you."
"The contract for the land in Guangming District has been signed. We now have ten mu of land in our name to build on."
"What are your thoughts?"
Su Ye was taken aback. Had the contract already been signed?
He thought for a moment, then said, "All right, I know."
"Let me think about it. Come back in a little while."
After Deng Jiajia left, Su Ye took out a sheet of paper and spread it on the desk.
He definitely wanted to build the company headquarters properly. It would be even better if it could become a landmark.
As he thought about it, several city landmarks from his previous life immediately came to mind.
They were either skyscrapers or classical gardens and old buildings.
After thinking it over, he shook his head and dismissed them. It wasn't that they weren't good enough, but they didn't suit his company's image.
Since it was a game company, why not go for a cyberpunk style?
That way, Xingye Company's headquarters would definitely stand out at night.
As he thought, he began to draw.
The building didn't need to be that tall, but it had to be spectacular and distinctive.
Since his journey in gaming had begun with Minecraft, he would make the pixel style its main feature.
The headquarters would be shaped like pixel blocks stacked at staggered heights, with a blue-purple glowing cube core suspended in the center to represent the game engine's energy.
On the side, there would be a giant glasses-free 3D LED screen.
More and more ideas came to mind, and the more he drew, the more excited he became.
Only when a rough outline of the company headquarters appeared on the paper did Su Ye put down his pen.
Not bad. Really not bad.
Su Ye looked at the headquarters he had drawn and nodded in satisfaction.
Although he didn't know whether it could be built, he believed one thing: as long as there was enough money, the construction company would have to figure out how to make it happen.
That was the charm of money.
He called Deng Jiajia over and handed her his finished drawing.
"Take a look. Have them build it according to this."
Deng Jiajia took the drawing her boss handed her. Looking at the rather fanciful sketch, she felt the corners of her mouth twitch slightly.
"B... boss."
"Are you sure you want it built according to this?"
"Isn't this... a little too... too unique?"
Hearing Deng Jiajia, Su Ye waved a hand. "Unique is exactly what I want."
"Tell the construction team I want the building itself to glow at night."
"Oh, and if the contractor says they can't build it, offer them more money. Even if you have to raise the price by fifty percent, get it built."
Deng Jiajia bit her lip as she listened to Su Ye.
All right, as long as the boss is happy. I just have to do as he says.
After Deng Jiajia left, Su Ye remained absorbed in his artistic creation, unable to tear himself away.
You look down on my creativity? Once the building is finished, I'll put together a cyberpunk concept and you'll understand.
I'll show you the charm of neon-lit streets.
Meanwhile, Deng Jiajia had contacted the construction team and sent the plan over.
The moment she sent it, a call came from the other end.
"Ms. Deng, are you sure your company wants us to build it like this!?"
On the other end of the line, Wang Qiang's voice trembled as he looked at the building in front of him.
Th... what the hell kind of building is this?
Why is the design so peculiar? Do game companies really love to play around this much?
Deng Jiajia also said awkwardly, "President Wang, our boss wants it built according to this."
"And there's one more requirement: the building itself needs to glow at night."
Listening to Deng Jiajia, Wang Qiang nearly spat out a mouthful of blood.
He had thought he had taken on the most ordinary of building projects, but he had never expected them to want a building like this.
He had never even seen anything like it, let alone considered how difficult it would be to build.
He didn't even know what to do about the cube core in the center. In the construction world, the difficulty was no less than that of a project an old professor had spent half his life researching.
"Ms. Deng, how about you discuss it with your boss again?"
"This building is too difficult to construct, and we don't have any experience in this area."
After hearing him out, Deng Jiajia said directly, "President Wang, let me put it this way."
"Our boss isn't short of money. The original price was around seven or eight hundred million. I'll raise it to one billion for you."
"As long as the building gets built, everything else is negotiable."
Hearing that, Wang Qiang's expression instantly turned serious.
In an utterly earnest tone, he said, "Ms. Deng, that's not right."
"At Brother Qiang Construction, difficult buildings are what we do. The harder the building, the stronger it makes us!"
"Rest assured, even if I have to hire ten professors, I'll get this building done for you."
