With no sign of the Demon Race or Du Household, Kong Wenxuan proposed setting up Peacock County’s Boundary Stele, and Kong Changgeng revealed he had brought it.

• Kong Wenxuan and Kong Changgeng landed at the frontier camp and greeted Kong Yuyin and Yan Zhiyu.
• Kong Yuyin reported that Demon Beasts and demon birds had gathered in increasing numbers, though she and Yan Zhiyu had found no trace of the Demon Race or Du Household.

The Cuckoo Demon unleashed bloodlight-controlled avian puppets whose corpses spawned explosive Bloodlight Cuckoos, threatening the Kong Household’s battle formations. Kong Wenxuan saved Kong Yuyin, but the puppets continued advancing and drew nearly everyone into the fight.

• The Cuckoo Demon summoned more than a hundred bloodlight-eyed demonic birds that ignored Kong Yuyin’s illusion and swooped at the Kong Household cultivators.

Kong Wenxuan chose to pursue and kill the fleeing Second Tier Cuckoo Demon Race member instead of racing back to the Peacock County Seat under construction, which was under attack by a Third Tier Flame Sparrow Demon Beast. After returning to the Boundary Stele, he found the fighting nearly over and heard Patriarch Kong Changgeng admonish the Kong Household members for losing their composure.

• Kong Wenxuan recognized the attacker at Peacock County Seat as the Third Tier Flame Sparrow Demon Beast and decided to pursue the nearby fleeing Cuckoo rather than return to the distant siege.
• The Cuckoo Demon Race member summoned beasts and birds to hinder Kong Wenxuan, but Kong Wenxuan cut them down and continued closing the distance.

With the Second Elder gravely injured and hired cultivators eyeing the damaged city, the Kong Household reassured its workers that development would continue and began restoring order.

• Kong Wenxuan and the others returned to find more than half the Peacock County Seat and its highest peak destroyed, while Kong Yujin and the disciples tended the wounded and cleared rubble.
• Kong Yujin explained that a Third-Tier Flame Sparrow, apparently controlled by an outside force, broke through the formations and rampaged until the Second Elder and her Stone Disc Turtle killed it, leaving the Second Elder gravely injured.

Though her Dantian Qi sea and Sea of Consciousness were cracked and her cultivation could no longer advance, she remained determined to oversee repairs and protect the Kong Household’s new county.

• Kong Changgeng found Kong Changlan with unstable Law Power and Spiritual Consciousness, and learned her foundation had been damaged while she operated the unfinished formation and commanded the Stone Disc Turtle.
• Kong Changlan regretted delaying construction of the city walls and formation, believing a completed defense could have prevented the heavy casualties and losses.
