The Eight Domains
"Brother Shen, my wedding is in ten days. I hope Brother Shen will do me the honor of attending the ceremony."
In the courtyard, Gu Ye spoke to Shen Ge with a hint of respect, explaining that it wasn't a matter of fear, but rather a matter of courtesy.
Shen Ge smiled and invited Gu Ye to sit down. He had already heard about the marriage, but he really didn't expect that Fairy Miaoyin would actually be won over by this guy. This surprised Shen Ge quite a bit.
After all, given Miaoyin's temperament, Shen Ge never really thought she would get married.
"Fellow Daoist Gu is impressive," Shen Ge said with a smile. "Could you tell me how you won over Miaoyin? I'm quite curious."
Gu Ye smiled and didn't say much more about the matter, "It just happened naturally."
Seeing this, Shen Ge didn't ask any more questions, but said with a sigh, "Fellow Daoist Gu, you're not being fair. You've taken Miaoyin away, and now we'll have nowhere to listen to music."
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. If Brother Shen wants to hear it in the future, I can play it for you after I learn it. You and Miaoyin are friends, so you are naturally my friends too. I can easily accommodate such a small request." Although Gu Ye was smiling, there was a hint of asserting his ownership in his words.
Although he knew that Shen Ge and Miaoyin had nothing going on, he couldn't resist showing off during such a rare opportunity.
Shen Ge understood, but didn't explain anything. After all, explaining would only make things worse.
"Don't worry, I will definitely be there on the wedding day."
Gu Ye rose again and bowed, saying, "Then I welcome Brother Shen with open arms."
He then sat back down and said, "Brother Shen, there is actually another matter I would like to ask you. I wonder if Brother Shen could enlighten me?"
Shen Ge nodded and said, "May I ask?"
"It's like this, back when we were fighting the Demon Beast at the East Sea Gate, some of Brother Shen's moves were very similar to those of a sect from our Luo Heaven Sea sect. I had to go back and look through some ancient texts to confirm it, but that sect is already..."
At this point, Gu Ye asked with a slightly serious expression, "Brother Shen, are you from Heavenly South?!"
Shen Ge calmly manipulated the teapot to add some tea to Gu Ye's cup, "Fellow Daoist Gu, don't get agitated."
"How could I not be excited? You know, that's the way out for the entire Luo Heaven Sea!" Gu Ye stood up abruptly, his face flushed.
Fortunately, he restrained himself somewhat, otherwise he would have already slammed his fist on the table.
Shen Ge calmly took a sip of tea and said slowly, "That's right, I am indeed from Heavenly South. I was accompanied by a senior martial uncle, but I haven't heard from him for so many years. I suppose he has probably already passed away."
"But," Shen Ge continued, changing the subject, "I was essentially exiled here, so I can't go back."
"What?!" Gu Ye stared at Shen Ge in shock, exclaiming, "With your talent Brother Shen, it's unbelievable that you'd be exiled! Even if you committed some crime, you shouldn't be exiled!"
"You mean we should kill him to prevent future troubles, right?" Shen Ge looked at Gu Ye with a half-smile, sipping her tea as she went.
Gu Ye remained silent for a while before lowering his head and replying, "That makes sense. With your talent and ability, Brother Shen, there's no way you could be exiled."
"It's nothing, it's just that my master didn't want to kill me, but she also didn't want me to stay there and make things difficult for her, so she simply dumped me here."
Gu Ye's expression shifted several times before he finally sighed softly, bowed, and said, "Brother Shen Brother Shen, I'll be leaving now. Don't forget to attend the wedding!"
"I won't forget. After all, Fairy Miaoyin is practically my mentor in music, so it wouldn't be right for me not to attend her wedding."
After leaving the courtyard, Gu Ye returned to his sect and met with his great-grandfather Venerable Yaoguang, and told him all the information he had learned from Shen Ge.
After listening to Gu Ye's account, Venerable Yaoguang, while drawing a landscape painting, said, "Throughout the ages, only the Spirit Moon remains eternal; though the seas change, only the Ji Household endures."
"Now it seems that this wasn't just empty talk."
"Great-grandfather, you speak so highly of the Spirit Moon Sect. Could it be that they were one of the founders of the Luo Heaven Sea? But there's no record of that in ancient books," Gu Ye asked, puzzled.
"No, the Spirit Moon Sect wasn't the founder; they were outsiders." Venerable Yaoguang shook his head and explained, "According to the ancient records of our Yaoguang Immortal Sect, the Spirit Moon Sect is just a branch sect. It seems the main sect is in the Heaven's Edge Domain, but I'm not entirely sure about the specifics."
"However, back then, even a branch sect could send more than a dozen immortals to ascend in a single day, so the main sect must have been even more powerful, perhaps even the dominant sect in the Heaven's Edge Domain."
"Heaven's Edge Domain? Where is that? Great-Grandpa, I've never heard of any of this before." Gu Ye looked at his great-grandfather with a curious gaze, hoping that the other could explain.
Yaoguang put down his pen, looked at the Mountains and Rivers Painting on the table, and nodded in satisfaction. He then explained, "According to the maps recorded in the ancient books of our Yaoguang Immortal Sect, our Luo Heaven Sea is just a tiny dot in the Endless Sea."
As he Venerable Yaoguang pulled a blank sheet of paper from the table and drew a shape to represent the Endless Sea. Then, he used the tip of his pen to place a tiny, almost imperceptible dot in one of the spots.
"And far to the north of the Luo Heaven Sea lies Heavenly South, a place regarded as the Southern Wilderness by the Eight Domains."
Venerable Yaoguang then tore off another piece of paper and drew an arc shaped like a mountain peak.
"He's like a peninsula, but more than twice the size of our Luo Heaven Sea."
Above these are the Heavenly Desolation Domain, the Marsh Sea Domain the Heaven's Edge Domain, the Swamp Sea Domain, the Demon Domain, the Netherworld Domain Cold Wind Domain, the Forest Sea, and the Devil Domain. These are the eight major domains, each roughly the size of the entire Endless Sea.
"Among these, the Heavenly Desolation Domain, the Demon Domain, and the Marsh Sea Domain border the Sea of Endless. If one's strength is sufficient, one can completely traverse these three domains using the Endless Sea as a means."
"But let's forget about it. Once we leave the coastal waters, we could die at any moment, let alone cross the Endless Sea."
Gu Ye couldn't hear what his great-grandfather was saying at this moment. He just stared blankly at the map. He had never imagined that the outside world was so vast and boundless.
I really want to see what these eight regions are like.
At that moment, he suddenly remembered what the Eagle King had said earlier. It turned out that they were all like frogs at the bottom of a well, trapped in this narrow well, with no chance to see the real world.
"Alright, stop thinking about such nonsense. The outside world is wonderful, but we still need to get out of this well. If a frog in a well could get out, it wouldn't be called a frog in a well." Venerable Yaoguang slightly unpleasant, and then the map he had casually drawn on the table crumbled into dust and drifted in the wind.
