Ch. 1Red Dragon

Sol was reborn as a red dragon hatchling and emerged from his egg in the lair of his mother, Chilier Solaris Burnnest. After eating his shell and stealing some of his siblings’ shells, he watched Chilier take away a hatchling she judged inferior, then brazenly provoked his angry brothers.

  • Sol hatched from his egg and recognized the red dragon watching him as his mother, Chilier Solaris Burnnest.
  • Sol learned that he had been reborn as a red dragon hatchling, cleaned himself, and ate his eggshell to gain nourishment.
  • Sol watched his three siblings hatch, then saw Chilier take away the silent wyrmling she considered inferior.
  • Sol ate pieces of his brothers’ eggshells, and after they noticed the theft, he swallowed another piece and belched at them.

Ch. 2The Wheel

Sol fought his younger siblings until their mother, Chilier, stopped them, then ate the largest eggshell piece and slept through his first growth period. He woke with a wheel that could grant Monster Hunter items and creatures using Mental Power Essence, then found his gaunt siblings staring at him.

  • Sol fought his younger brother and sister, using his greater strength and harder scales to gain the advantage.
  • Chilier returned to the nest and stopped the fight with a roar, and Sol grabbed the largest eggshell piece before hiding in the cave.
  • The three hatchlings ate eggshells and fell asleep as their dragon inheritance emerged and their bodies developed over the next fifteen days.
  • Sol woke to a blue screen showing his dragon status and a seven-ring wheel that spent Mental Power Essence on draws from the Monster Hunter world.
  • Sol learned that intense emotions directed toward him generated Mental Power Essence, then opened his eyes to Kalpu and Xisitana staring at him.

Ch. 3Struggle

Xisitana and Kalpu attacked Sol after waking hungry, but Sol defeated them and discovered that their anger increased his mental power essence. After nearly a week without their mother, the hatchlings heard her return to the cave carrying the smell of blood.

  • Xisitana woke underfed, ate gravel, and crawled toward Kalpu before deciding to attack Sol.
  • Sol fought off Xisitana and Kalpu, severely injuring them and winning the fight.
  • Sol found that the battle had raised his mental power essence balance to 0.5 and explored the cave, suspecting a boulder concealed his mother's treasure vault.
  • Sol and his siblings spent several days hungry and eating rocks while their mother was absent.
  • Nearly a week later, their dragon mother flew back into the cave smelling strongly of blood.

Ch. 4Food

Sol and his siblings scavenged the leftovers from Chilier’s boar, then were forced to clean the platform. Sol used his mental wheel to draw a Dragonvein Crystal, which he chose not to extract until it was safer.

  • Chilier returned with a huge boar, drove Kalpu and Xisitana away, and ate most of the prey while Sol watched.
  • After Chilier went into the cave to rest, Sol seized the meatiest scraps and knocked Xisitana down when she tried to take them.
  • Sol and his siblings ate the leftovers, but Sol found an arrow embedded among the boar’s remains.
  • Chilier ordered the three hatchlings to clean up, and they burned the scraps and bloodstains with their fire breath after she threatened them.
  • Sol privately used one point of Mental Power Essence for a draw and received the option to extract a Dragonvein Crystal, but chose to wait until his surroundings were safer.

Ch. 5Going Out

Sol persuaded Xisitana and Kalpu to leave their cave and hunt for meat, then used force to make them follow his lead. The three wyrmlings found a bharal in a rocky crevice as their next potential prey.

  • Sol convinced Xisitana and Kalpu that the wyrmlings should leave the cave to hunt for meat.
  • The three wyrmlings glided from the cave at night and searched the low hills for prey.
  • Xisitana and Kalpu rushed at a wild hare and startled it into escaping, so Sol scolded them and claimed the prey for himself.
  • Sol subdued Xisitana and Kalpu in a scuffle and made them agree to let him eat first.
  • Sol led Xisitana and Kalpu downwind toward upwind, and they followed the scent of a bharal hiding in a rocky crevice.

Ch. 6Hunting

Sol and the two dragon wyrmlings hunted a bharal, but Sol caught it and claimed most of the meat. He tricked Xisitana and Kalpu into fighting over scraps while he ate, leaving the wyrmlings with only bones and leftovers.

  • Sol told Xisitana and Kalpu to drive the bharal toward him, and they circled through the grass.
  • The bharal sensed danger and fled, but Sol chased it down, pounced on its back, and killed it with a bite to the neck.
  • Sol began eating the bharal, then drove Xisitana and Kalpu back when they tried to join him.
  • Sol gave Xisitana and Kalpu the head and ribs, then baited them into fighting over the scraps.
  • While Xisitana and Kalpu wrestled over the remains, Sol ate most of the bharal and left them with scraps and bones.

Ch. 7Dragonvein Crystal

Sol buried his dung, withdrew a Dragonvein Crystal from the wheel in his mind, and swallowed it to absorb its energy. He then drew a Blue Mushroom and returned to the cave, where Xisitana and Kalpu resented him before he settled in to sleep.

  • After returning from a hunt with Xisitana and Kalpu, Sol left them and buried his dung in a thorny patch of grass.
  • Sol withdrew a Dragonvein Crystal from the wheel and swallowed it whole, awakening hidden information in his bloodline as he absorbed its energy.
  • Sol learned that Dragonvein Crystal could be exchanged for one kilogram per point of Mental Power Essence, then used a draw to obtain a Blue Mushroom.
  • Sol returned to the cave, where Xisitana and Kalpu resented his full belly and their thoughts increased his Mental Power Essence.
  • Sol curled up in a secluded corner of the cave and fell asleep after finally eating his fill.

Ch. 8Crisis

After Chilier returned wounded from a fight with apparent centaurs, Sol feared that her conflict might bring danger to the cave. He decided to focus on strengthening himself and use his spiritual power essence to obtain more dragon crystals.

  • Sol woke to Chilier raging in the cave and hid with Xisitana and Kalpu until she fell asleep.
  • Sol saw Chilier’s serious wounds and found scorched ground, broken rocks, and half-melted arrowheads outside the cave.
  • Sol suspected that centaurs had fought Chilier over hunting territory and worried that they might come after the dragon family.
  • Sol considered fleeing but judged himself too weak and unable to fly far, so he resolved to stay calm and prepare.
  • Sol decided to prioritize training and exchange his spiritual power essence for dragon crystals, saving any remainder for a creature template draw.

Ch. 9Centaurs

A band of centaurs led by Lunaris searched for the red dragon and found a damaged red scale, while Sol hunted after his injuries had healed and continued to grow rapidly. Sol returned with a deer leg and taunted Xisitana and Kalpu, unaware of the centaurs' search nearby.

  • A centaur ranger told Lunaris he had found a damaged red scale but had failed to catch the red dragon.
  • Chilier's injuries healed, and she flew out at night while Sol watched from the cave.
  • Sol's body and gliding ability improved as the dragon crystal fueled his rapid growth.
  • Sol glided out at night, killed a young deer, and ate most of it before carrying a hind leg back to the cave.
  • Xisitana and Kalpu watched Sol eat the leg, and Sol mocked them for failing to catch prey.

Ch. 10The First Template

Sol drew and successfully loaded a Mernos Template, transforming his wings and gaining powerful flight abilities. He tested his newfound ability before dawn, then reminded himself to stay cautious until he became much stronger.

  • Sol spent ten Mental Power Essence Fragments to draw a Mernos Template and found that his compatibility with it was high.
  • Sol withdrew the template, and its weaker traits converted into life energy while its powerful wings and agile flight were retained.
  • Sol's wings grew larger and stronger as his body absorbed energy, leaving him hungry.
  • Sol flapped his wings and lifted off from a standstill inside the cave.
  • Sol flew out before dawn, discovered he could climb far higher than before, and descended after the night wind reminded him to avoid dangerous high-altitude creatures.

Ch. 11Moving

With their dragon mother missing and the cave likely exposed, Sol decided to move his younger siblings to safety. The three wyrmlings fled after nightfall, just as centaurs reached the cave.

  • Sol grew another foot, reached nearly ten feet in length, and saw his challenge rating rise from three to four, but worried that his dragon mother had abandoned them.
  • Sol woke Xisitana and Kalpu, told them their mother had fled a powerful enemy, and insisted that they leave before the centaurs found the cave.
  • Xisitana and Kalpu searched the blocked-off part of the cave for treasure and found nothing, then packed their shiny stones anyway.
  • After nightfall, Sol led Xisitana and Kalpu away in a direction he chose at random.
  • Centaurs surrounded the hills, and a large, bony hand found a broken scale outside the cave.

Ch. 12Fertilizing

Sol led Xisitana and Kalpu across the plains, then used a Dragonvein Crystal to distract and control his hungry siblings. After forcing Xisitana to swallow a crystal fragment, he turned to Kalpu and asked whether he would eat his piece himself or need help.

  • Sol, Xisitana, and Kalpu ran for nearly two hours before stopping on a vast plain, where they later caught two rabbits and shared the meat.
  • Sol spent one Mental Power Essence to summon a Dragonvein Crystal, and Xisitana and Kalpu accused him of stealing the dragon mother's treasure.
  • Sol shattered the crystal, dodged his siblings' attack, and defeated them before offering fragments to whichever hatchling knelt first.
  • Sol chose Xisitana, forced a Dragonvein Crystal fragment down her throat, and then threatened to make Kalpu eat his piece himself.

Ch. 13Escape in the Opposite Direction

Sol, Xisitana, and Kalpu fled after discovering a centaur settlement and hid in a thicket, where Sol stayed awake worrying about their survival. At sunrise, the centaurs returned with a captured red wyrmling, while a scout and his falcon seemed to spot something nearby.

  • Sol made Xisitana and Kalpu eat dragon crystals to increase their spiritual power essence, and the three set off across the wilderness.
  • Sol smelled a nearby settlement, led the others past more than a dozen centaur tents, and had them flee dozens of kilometers before hiding underground in a thicket.
  • Xisitana and Kalpu fell asleep, but Sol remained awake as he thought about how difficult his new life as a dragon had become.
  • Lunaris returned with a chained red wyrmling and told the centaurs that the crafty red dragon and its young had escaped, leaving behind an abandoned dragon beast.
  • Aira wanted the centaurs to kill the wyrmling out of hatred, but Lunaris said they needed to trade it to humans for weapons and armor.
  • A middle-aged centaur announced that he had found something new, as a peregrine falcon with glowing eyes circled overhead and shared his vision.

Ch. 14Fleeing

Lunaris and the centaurs discovered tracks suggesting red dragon whelps had approached their camp and mobilized to search for them. Sol sensed the centaurs closing in after he and his siblings hunted, and fled with them as the pursuers gained ground.

  • Lunaris identified large reptilian tracks near the centaur camp and suspected the red dragon whelps had been nearby.
  • Lunaris sent his peregrine falcon to search and ordered more centaurs to spread out.
  • Sol woke Xisitana and Kalpu and led them across the sunlit wilderness, avoiding places where they might be seen.
  • Sol, Xisitana, and Kalpu brought down and ate a wilderness boar.
  • Sol sensed approaching hooves, shouted for his siblings to run, and fled as the centaurs pursued them.

Ch. 15Another Draw

Sol led Xisitana and Kalpu away from the pursuing centaurs, then used his Mental Power Essence to draw several items that might help them survive. The centaurs halted for the night but planned to search the area, while Sol examined his new supplies and formed a plan.

  • Sol realized a trained peregrine falcon was guiding the centaurs, but darkness forced the bird to descend and Lunaris stopped the pursuit.
  • Aira questioned Lunaris about letting the hatchlings escape, and he said he would send rangers to search for them.
  • Sol gave Xisitana and Kalpu Dragonvein Crystal fragments to restore their strength.
  • Sol spent five points of Mental Power Essence on another draw and received Needleberry, a Large Barrel Bomb, a Goldenfish Scale, Ivy, and Coal.
  • Sol withdrew the items and came up with a bold idea.

Ch. 16Counterattack

Sol made Xisitana and Kalpu prepare a concealed bomb, then used Coal to supercharge the whelps’ breath attacks. He charged toward three approaching centaurs as heat built inside him.

  • Sol ordered Xisitana to squeeze Ivy and Kalpu to gather stones, then covered a Large Barrel Bomb with the juice, Needleberry seeds, Coal, and pebbles.
  • Sol planned to lure the centaurs toward the concealed bomb, but heard three approaching and led Xisitana and Kalpu closer to them.
  • Sol spotted three elite centaur rangers and confirmed that his previously drawn items were still available through the wheel.
  • Sol exchanged Mental Power Essence for Coal, ate most of it, and gave the rest to Xisitana and Kalpu to strengthen their breath attacks.
  • As heat and pain built inside him, Sol charged at the three centaurs.

Ch. 17The Trap

Sol used his fire breath to ambush three centaur warriors, then fought them alongside Xisitana and Kalpu until they were dead. He and the other wyrmlings set a centaur corpse on the Large Barrel Bomb and rigged it as bait for the approaching main force.

  • Sol dodged the centaurs’ arrows, then engulfed the three warriors in a blast of fire.
  • Sol attacked the burning centaurs, suffering damage to his wings as he tore into them.
  • Xisitana and Kalpu joined the fight with their own fire breath, and the wyrmlings killed all three centaurs.
  • Sol noticed that his mental power essence had increased by nearly six points after the centaurs died.
  • Sol, Xisitana, and Kalpu dragged a corpse to the Large Barrel Bomb, tied its tendon to the trigger, and left it as bait for the centaurs.

Ch. 18Explosion

Lunaris led the centaurs after Sol and the other wyrmlings, but they were lured into an explosive trap while trying to recover a comrade’s body. The blast left Lunaris wounded and nearly all his followers dead or injured.

  • Lunaris sounded a horn and led the assembled centaurs toward the wildfire after one of the ranger squads failed to return.
  • The centaurs found two charred warriors, followed the drag marks, and pursued Sol and the others.
  • Sol heard the approaching hoofbeats, called Xisitana and Kalpu over, and hid nearby to wait for the centaurs.
  • Lunaris’s group found a third centaur’s body resting on the concealed Large Barrel Bomb, and two centaurs lifted it.
  • The corpse’s tendon snapped the bomb’s trigger, causing an explosion that hurled centaurs aside and shredded them with flying rubble and seeds.
  • Lunaris survived with severe wounds and saw the ground strewn with injured and dead centaurs.

Ch. 19Remember My Name!

Sol mocked the wounded centaurs to provoke their fear and hatred, then escaped after Lunaris shot and wounded him. He returned to Xisitana and Kalpu, and the siblings headed off to find a place to settle and grow stronger.

  • Sol approached the surviving centaurs and taunted them, warning that his siblings might attack if they chased him.
  • Lunaris tracked Sol by sound and fired a glowing arrow, cutting a bloody gash into Sol's side.
  • Sol mocked Lunaris's poor aim and announced his full name, hoping the centaurs would spread it and increase his Mental Power Essence.
  • Sol saw his essence balance rise to fifteen points, ate the Blue Mushroom, and returned to Xisitana and Kalpu.
  • Xisitana and Kalpu praised the explosion and complained that Sol had not given them credit, so he slapped them and led them away to find a place to settle.

Ch. 20A New Habitat

After months of wandering and growing stronger, Sol found a low hill range with prey and no powerful monsters, then chose it as a new home. He and Xisitana and Kalpu dug a rough shelter into the hillside and spent their first dawn there.

  • Sol's magic perception and absorption improved, and he grew to eleven feet long while Xisitana and Kalpu reached seven feet.
  • As winter approached, the three wyrmlings found low hills near a lake and hid nearby until nightfall.
  • Sol flew over the hills, spotted crude cultivation, large holes, and signs of an intelligent but weak settlement, and confirmed there were no dangerous monsters.
  • After returning to Xisitana and Kalpu, Sol scolded and struck them before leading them to the tallest hill.
  • The three wyrmlings dug a shelter into the hillside, stopped when they reached hard rock, and huddled inside through their first dawn in their new home.
