The Return Voyage
Upon hearing Qian Xunji's words, Yu Yuanzhen's heart skipped a beat. He knew very well that this commotion was caused by his eldest son, and the power of that Fart Tornado was still vivid in his mind.
The problem is that the casualties in the two empires were so devastating that if the blame were placed on the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, the two empires would have no choice but to unite with other forces to raze their sect to the ground.
He jumped to his feet, pointed at Qian Xunji, and shouted sharply:
"Slander! I'll sue you for slander! My unfilial son is only level 29, how could he possibly have the ability to unleash such Soul Skill?"
Qian Xunji asked back with amusement:
"Sect Master Yu is far too modest. Although I, the Pope, am here to support Senior Tang Chen, I am not entirely unaware of the Pope below. I saw it with my own eyes: your eldest son conjured up a towering Fart Tornado for you. The sheer power of that was hardly something he could have created!"
Tang Chen stood by the bulkhead, arms crossed, glancing sideways, and said expressionlessly, "I saw it clearly too; that tornado was indeed his doing."
Ning Fengzhi then chimed in:
"As a support-type Soul Master, I naturally had the entire scene under my watch. Before the nuclear explosion, Grandmaster Yu was stuffed into the exhaust pipe by the four of them, which ultimately triggered the nuclear explosion. I saw it all clearly."
Upon hearing this, Dai Tianfeng and Marshal Ge Long finally found an outlet for their pent-up anger. In his fury, Dai Tianfeng slammed his fist on the table, causing cracks to appear on the thick wooden surface.
"Yu Yuanzhen, what excuses do you have left?! It's a pity that our soldiers didn't die bravely on the battlefield, but were either suffocated or drowned by your Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Yu Xiaogang, this scourge, should be handed over to a military court!"
Yu Yuanzhen was rendered speechless by the insults, but Yu Luomian, standing beside him, pointed at Qian Xunji and retorted:
"Your Spirit Hall also played a part in triggering the nuclear explosion. Your Spirit Hall's Holy Maiden was involved in pushing her Xiao Gang in the back, causing the final explosion. If we're talking about who's to blame, your Spirit Hall can't escape responsibility either."
Qian Xunji's eyes turned slightly cold, and she said with righteous indignation:
"My Holy Maiden of the Spirit Hall died at the hands of villains from Sea God Island Sea God Island ago while trying to gather information about it. Yu Luomian, stop trying to confuse the issue."
Tang Chen's face twitched slightly.
Just now, high in the sky, who was it that shouted, "Don't harm the people of my Spirit Hall!" and then shielded them from the attack?
Upon seeing this, Yu Luomian was surprised that the other party used the initial reason for the war as an excuse, and argued in the same way:
"Yu Xiaogang was expelled from the sect long ago; he can't be considered a member of our Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan."
Qian Xunji sneered and pressed on, "What about Liu Erlong?"
Yu Luomian retorted, her neck stiff, "She has never acknowledged her ancestors; she is an outsider."
Qian Xunji continued to retort, "That's all sophistry. They have the blood of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan flowing through their veins. Can your Blue Lightning Clan shirk this debt?"
Seeing the tense atmosphere inside the cabin, almost escalating into a physical fight, Ning Fengzhi once again acted as a peacemaker, smoothing things over:
"Please calm down, everyone. What's the point of arguing about this now? Yu Xiaogang and the others have disappeared without a trace, and we can't find the culprit either."
"Actually, we might as well look on the bright side. Maybe he's already dead? After all, with such a powerful attack, even if I were right in the center of the explosion, I couldn't possibly be unharmed."
Everyone in the cabin was taken aback upon hearing this. If the culprit was already dead, no matter how much they questioned him, they would not be able to find any evidence to bring him to justice. One of the opposing sides was the Spirit Hall, and the other was the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan of the Upper Three Sects. At most, the two great empires would ask for some compensation, but they would not really do anything to him.
Only Yu Yuanzhen's face was ashen, a breath stuck in his throat, and he could only hope that his eldest son was still alive.
Seeing this, Ning Fengzhi went along with it and continued, "Now that the ringleader is dead, should we... regroup and fight another battle against Sea God Island?"
Dai Tianfeng said helplessly:
"We can't fight any longer. You all witnessed the golden light that Bo Saixi unleashed at the end; its coverage was beyond human capabilities. If that Sea God Island has other tricks up its sleeve, if we continue fighting, we'll die every time we go."
Hearing this, Qian Xunji was unhappy. If they didn't fight, how could he cultivate his evil intentions?
He added fuel to the fire, "What are you afraid of? If she really had such methods, she would have used them long ago. Why has she been dragging it out until now?"
Dai Tianfeng, still shaken, asked in a low voice, "What if she really does?"
The people inside the cabin fell into deep thought, and the leaders from all sides looked tense.
Yu Luomian couldn't help but speak up:
"Not only that, my elder brother and I were attacked by a strange fellow on Sea God Island. That fellow's physique was unbelievably strong, he clearly had the aura of Soul Beast, yet he had no Soul Ring, but he looked like a human. Is such a being considered human or a Soul Beast?"
Seeing that no one responded and they all looked confused, Qian Xunji felt it wouldn't hurt to tell them about it.
He explained:
"What you all may not know is that, according to the Spirit Hall's records, Hundred-Thousand-Year Sea Soul Beast can transform into human form as soon as it sets foot on land. Those creatures exuding the aura of Soul Beast are most likely Hundred-Thousand-Year Sea Soul Beast."
Dai Tianfeng felt a chill run down his spine and muttered in disbelief, "Hundred-Thousand-Year Sea Soul Beast? There have been several of them attacking today alone."
"Our allied forces are already significantly weakened in naval operations. If Sea God Island truly has several Hundred-Thousand-Year Sea Soul Beast assisting us, we have absolutely no chance of winning at sea. This battle... can we even continue?"
Hearing this, Yu Yuanzhen of despair, saw an opportunity and immediately howled:
What's the point of fighting now?
"Even Titled Douluo would avoid Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast. And these are just a few that have shown themselves. Who knows if there are many more Hundred-Thousand-Year Sea Soul Beast lurking beneath the ocean? Anyway, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan is not going to play along."
Ning Fengzhi nodded in deep agreement:
"Given the current state of the Allied forces, they can no longer support us in continuing this perilous journey. Let's return to the mainland and discuss things further."
Although everyone was furious, they knew that the situation was hopeless, so they had no choice but to give orders to return at full speed.
As for the Divine Power they so desperately desired, they could only dream about it.
The return journey across the vast ocean was even more agonizing than the journey there.
The remaining warships of the allied fleet navigated the waves, each soldier exuding a lingering stench, as if they had been pickled.
As the group continued their journey calmly, a figure stood riding the waves ahead, letting out a strange, long laugh:
"Hehehe, you despicable land humans, you think you can just run away after attacking my Sea God Island? I, Haiyang Kunkunzi, will be the first to object."
With that sound, the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King, who had taken the alias Haiyang Kunkunzi, compressed a giant water basketball in his hand and hurled it at the allied warship.
With a muffled thud, the warship's rudder was shattered by the water basketball, and the entire ship slowly sank to the bottom of the sea, with the crew of the taxis on board forced to slide into the ocean.
Hearing the commotion, Dai Tianfeng and the others rushed to the bow of the ship. Upon closer inspection, they recognized the guy who had been harassing them for a whole month. They were furious, pointing at the sea and roaring:
"It's you again, Haiyang Kunkunzi! You deserve to die!"
