Background / History

Arrival and Divine Impersonation

Before arriving on the Douluo Continent, Shen Luo had played Genshin Impact and completed the Fontaine storyline. Receiving a real Furina from the system delighted him; he immediately embraced and kissed her, then explained his circumstances during their first few days together 1.

Without a Martial Soul or personal Soul Power, he needed another source of funding for the system. Furina proposed impersonating a deity. Shen Luo adopted the role of a divine lord, with Furina acting as his attendant, and demanded that Spirit Hall acknowledge him 1.

Chrysanthemum Douluo’s attack became their first public demonstration: the stage’s golden light repelled him and threw him to the ground. Shen Luo then presented the card-drawn characters as divine subordinates willing to descend as new Martial Souls 1 2.

Establishing the Card Business

Shen Luo used public demonstrations to overcome Soul Masters’ reluctance to surrender their cultivation. Li Er’s Kujou Sara defeated a Four-Ring Soul Ancestor, while a farmer’s Bennett provided healing and a powerful enhancement field. These results drew Yan and Spirit Hall’s elders into the business 3 4.

He encouraged customers to test their characters against one another, turning their battles into advertisements. By the end of his early sales, he had accumulated 214 levels of Soul Power—enough for 2,140 draws—and prioritized upgrading Furina 23 28 29.

Confrontation with Spirit Hall

When Spirit Hall’s guards restricted access to his stage, Shen Luo severely injured their Soul Emperor captain with a small Hydro attack and ordered the others to admit his customers 31.

Qian Daoliu subsequently challenged him to prove his divine status by defeating him with an ordinary attack. Shen Luo’s water sword shattered the level-99 Peerless Douluo’s attack and impaled him against the Six-Winged Angel statue 33.

After further hostility from Spirit Hall, Shen Luo threatened to move his business to the Heaven Dou Empire. Citizens demanded that Bibi Dong step down rather than lose access to his characters. He stayed after Bibi Dong, Spirit Hall’s forces, and eventually Qian Daoliu knelt and apologized; privately, he had only intended to frighten them 36 37.

Artifact Expeditions

Once the Artifact function opened, Shen Luo organized an expedition to the Far North. The group repeatedly defeated the Titan Snow Demon King, Ice Empress, and Snow Empress, whose boss status allowed them to revive and provide rewards to successive participants. Shen Luo then teleported everyone back to Spirit City 71 72 74 77.

A later update identified Gu Yuena as a boss carrying a much wider selection of Artifacts. Shen Luo led the group to Star Lake, defeated her, and repelled Di Tian before the others farmed their own rewards 81 82 84 85.

Gu Yuena eventually asked to share in the benefits available to his customers. Shen Luo said she needed Soul Power to participate, prompting her to transform into a human Soul Master 85.

Appearance

Personality

Shen Luo is an opportunistic promoter who understands that demonstrations sell more effectively than promises. He targets high-level Soul Masters for their large Soul Power reserves, encourages conspicuous battles, and expects customers seeking materials to spread awareness of his business across the continent 4 16 28.

His divine persona is calculated rather than sincere. He invents the explanation that lost divine power forces him to collect Soul Power, falsely claims that raising Furina to Level 90 took great effort, and plans promotions intended to make traditional Martial Souls seem obsolete 7 17 30.

He responds harshly to coercion and disrespect, using overwhelming force against Spirit Hall’s guard captain and Qian Daoliu. He also exploits public support to pressure Spirit Hall into submission without actually abandoning his profitable location 31 33 36.

With Furina, he is affectionate, teasing, and frequently intrusive: he deliberately arranges a single bed, peeks during her bath, and initiates unwanted touching. Nevertheless, he accepts her rejection of his confession and later refrains from asking again because he believes she needs time to know him, rather than having her emotional vulnerability exploited 28 30 56 67 70.

Card-Drawing System

Shen Luo exchanges customers’ Soul Power for characters and weapons that function in the Douluo world 2 3.
