Fiend Mission
Finally, Luo Feng received a message from the people of Fiend Castle informing him that they would be gathering outside the city the next day.
The next morning, Luo Feng and his group of eight went out to the city gate early. When Luo Feng arrived at the city gate, they saw a large Metallic Lifeform Metallic Lifeform floating outside the city, with demonic symbols on it.
"There seem to be quite a few people here." Catherine could see many figures inside through the transparent window of the Metallic Lifeform.
Luo Feng and his group of eight immediately flew towards the Metallic Lifeform Metallic Lifeform. At the entrance to the passage was an elderly man in silver robes. He looked at Luo Feng and his group and asked, "Are you here to participate in the Fiend Trial?"
Luo Feng and the other eight nodded.
"Please show me the Demon Emblem." The old man in silver had no smile on his face, his expression completely mechanical and businesslike.
Upon seeing the Demon Emblem in the hands of Luo Feng and his group of eight, the silver-robed elder nodded slightly. "Go in."
Upon entering the Metallic Lifeform, there was a wide corridor leading in both directions. There were other people in the corridor, and one of them, upon seeing Luo Feng, said, "To participate in the Fiend Trial, enter the rear cabin."
Upon entering the rear cabin.
Looking at the hundreds of people around them, Catherine sighed, "And there are already so many people here before everyone has even arrived yet. Brother Feng, let's sit over there." With that, she pulled Luo Feng and found a seat. In the rear cabin, there were rows of twenty seats, with four aisles separating each row. Luo Feng looked around and thought it was similar to the airplane cabin in his previous life, except that he was sitting in economy class.
Ace looked out through the transparent window. "Sir, look, there are so many people coming up! I didn't expect so many people to participate in the Fiend Trial. They're still coming, and there are even people wearing Fiend Medallion. Quite a few of them."
Luo Feng closed his eyes, nodded, and smiled, "Applying for Fiend Mission will definitely involve some demons of unknown star level leading the team. Actually, they're also doing quests, and they just distribute some miscellaneous tasks to us along the way."
Finally, after the demons entered the 'business class' at the front, the Metallic Lifeform activated, tearing through the sky. A gigantic, purplish-black phantom vanished instantly above the gates of Fallen Moon City, leaving only a faint black dot on the distant horizon. In the blink of an eye, it disappeared completely.
Luo Feng closed his eyes and waited for the people from the Fiend Castle to give him instructions. Before long, the silver-robed old man who had greeted them at the door finally appeared at the front.
"Everyone!" the silver-haired elder announced with a smile, "There are a thousand people participating in this Fiend Trial! As you all know, the Fiend Trial is extremely dangerous, with a very high probability of death! Yet you all came... at least in terms of courage, you are all qualified to become demons."
"Without further ado, anyone familiar with demons should know that demons can accept quests at the Fiend Castle! These quests are tiered!"
"As for your assessment task, it's a one-star task that we selected from a large number of tasks, suitable for you! Once you meet the standards, you'll be upgraded to Two-Star Fiend."
"Mission Location: Silver Fox Tribe. This Silver Fox Tribe is an extremely large and powerful tribe with three formidable leaders. They possess Saint-level Magical Beast, the Three-Tailed Silver Fox. The beast's fur is exquisitely beautiful and a prized possession for crafting cloaks. Your mission is to capture one Three-Tailed Silver Fox Three-Tailed Silver Fox. Remember, each person must capture one. Because the tribe's three leaders are incredibly powerful, we will not be providing assistance. This place isn't too far from Fallen Moon City; you must rely on yourselves to deliver the Three-Tailed Spirit Fox to the Fiend Castle to prove you have completed the mission!"
Immediately, the entire rear cabin erupted in commotion. Everyone was discussing among themselves.
"Quiet," the silver-haired elder announced loudly. "There's one more thing I must tell you all. The three leaders of the Silver Fox Tribe are extremely powerful, and the three-tailed Three-Tailed Spirit Fox Three-Tailed Spirit Fox are a great treasure to their tribe. Each three-tailed spirit fox has an owner, and you must kill the owner to capture the Three-Tailed Spirit Fox. Therefore, your capture of the Three-Tailed Spirit Fox will be met with fierce attacks from the three leaders and the entire tribe's Deity level experts. Of course, we also have powerful demons to help restrain their leaders, but the remaining Deity level experts are your own responsibility. So, the outcome depends on yourselves. Remember, as long as the Three-Tailed Spirit Fox delivers the mission, it doesn't matter what methods you use."
None of the people present were fools; they knew that the silver-robed elder's words were a veiled statement: it didn't matter if they didn't get it, even if they fought each other, as long as they finally obtained the Three-Tailed Spirit Fox and delivered it to the Fiend Castle.
Luo Feng opened his closed eyes and asked, "If we bring the head of one of the three leaders of the Silver Fox Tribe back to the Fiend Castle, will our demon level increase?"
Luo Feng's words immediately drew laughter from the entire warehouse, mocking his overestimation of Luo Feng abilities. The silver-robed elder in front seemed to share this sentiment, but remained composed and replied, "Young man, don't be too ambitious. It's better to be down-to-earth. Getting back to the point, if any of you can kill the leader of the Silver Fox Tribe and bring his body into the Fiend Castle, your demon level will automatically upgrade to Five-Star Fiend. Actually, this was originally a task for Four-Star Fiend to advance to Five-Star Fiend. We've simply separated the minor characters. Of course, if you can kill him and return to the Fiend Castle, then you will become Five-Star Fiend."
Luo Feng seemed oblivious to the bursts of laughter in the hall. He nodded, closed his eyes, and realized that what Luo Feng had been asking was why powerful individuals participating in the Fiend Trial had to slowly level up from One-Star Fiend to two-star to three-star – wouldn't that be torture? Now he finally knew the answer: if you wanted, you could directly kill the leader to quickly reach a higher level of demon, saving some powerful individuals a lot of trouble.
Sitting next to Luo Feng, Catherine, as Luo Feng's wife, naturally knew what Luo Feng was thinking. Moreover, Catherine believed that Luo Feng could definitely do it, not for any other reason than the strength Luo Feng had shown, and her blind trust in Luo Feng.
Ace and the others were indignant. "You lot can laugh all you want," they said. "But when the adults take the corpses of the three leaders to the Fiend Castle, we'll see who the real clowns are. You laughable people! The true powerhouses are sitting right in front of you, and you're completely oblivious. How ridiculous!"
Finally, after about five days, they were only a few hundred miles away from Luo Feng's mission location. A demon with long, brown-black hair emerged from the front warehouse. His long hair was casually draped over his shoulders, but his gaze was very cold and sharp.
Judging from the Fiend Medallion on their chests, they were clearly Four-Star Fiend. These people must be the main characters of this mission, since they were the ones who applied for Five-Star Fiend, while Luo Feng and the others were just there to make up the numbers, only responsible for some minor tasks.
However, Luo Feng could sense that there was another Six-Star Fiend in the front wing. It was strange; why would Six-Star Fiend lead the team? Was this not the advancement mission for the three Four-Star Fiend, but rather the mission of this Six-Star Fiend? Was this Six-Star Fiend the real protagonist?
Luo Feng knew that the Fiend Mission could actually be broken down into many parts. For example, Linley's Fiend Trial was mainly about the tasks of those Five-Star Fiend. Because they didn't want the Gold-Clad Guard to interfere, they included the Gold-Clad Guard in Linley's Fiend Trial. In reality, the main task was still the tasks of those Five-Star Fiend.
So, Luo Feng was in the same boat this time. Their task was to kill the master of the Three-Tailed Silver Fox, which was actually just helping the powerful demons eliminate some minor characters. So when Luo Feng saw this Six-Star Fiend, even though the silver-robed elder said it was a promotion mission for Four-Star Fiend, Luo Feng guessed that the main purpose of this mission was still the mission for this Six-Star Fiend.
Six-Star Fiend is second only to the city lord, so could he also have a mission? All of this seems mysterious, but Luo Feng doesn't care at all, feeling that this journey will be very interesting.
