Douluo: My Custom Achievement System
"Brother Jiang Yi, what level of Soul Beast are you planning to challenge?" Jiang Nannan asked softly from beside him.
Jiang Yi turned and smiled. "If I'm going to challenge one, it'll naturally be the strongest."
"Then I'll give it a try too," Jiang Nannan said modestly.
With her level thirty-three Soul Power and compatible Soul Rings, she could still defeat a Soul Beast that had just reached a thousand years.
After explaining the assessment, Lin Yu rested her gaze on Jiang Yi.
Although she hadn't said much when Jiang Yi enrolled, she was still very curious about why he had been admitted as an exception.
His exceptional admission hadn't just meant enrolling early; he had also skipped a grade.
He had effectively skipped straight to second-year classes, even though his Soul Power didn't meet the requirements for advancement to the second year.
The minimum Soul Power requirement for advancing to Shrek Academy's second year was level twenty. Jiang Yi's level sixteen Soul Power was clearly far short.
She had checked Jiang Yi's enrollment records and found them frighteningly bare. They stated only that his Martial Soul was Blue Silver Grass and said nothing else.
For him to break so many rules, he either had genuine ability or a powerful background.
"A level sixteen Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul. Let's see whether you have genuine ability or are relying on your background."
Lin Yu took one last look, then turned and left the classroom.
Soon, afternoon arrived, and Shrek Academy's second-year advancement assessment began.
The assessment attracted many people who knew about Jiang Yi and were curious about how he would perform.
At Shrek, this was the first time a student like Jiang Yi had attracted so much attention immediately upon enrollment.

Shrek Academy's beast-fighting area lay to the south and looked like a gray castle from the outside.
It occupied more land than any other structure at Shrek Academy and was divided into a Soul Beast holding area and a beast-fighting area.
Following the members of Class One, Jiang Yi entered the beast-fighting arena.
The entire arena was oval and astonishingly vast. It had four levels, with the entrance to the spectator gallery on the fourth.
At that moment, Du Weilun and four other examiners were already in position on the raised platform.
From above, they could clearly look down on every action of the students being assessed and award scores with precision.
Meanwhile, quite a few teachers had gathered in the spectator gallery, including Wang Yan, who had just been assigned to teach the second year.
Having been assigned to second-year Class One, Wang Yan naturally understood what Xuan Zi meant. He had surely been told to observe Jiang Yi.
Wang Yan wasn't particularly opposed to it; he was also very interested in Jiang Yi's Martial Soul Mutation.
Besides, he was a teacher who was willing to teach and nurture students, though Shrek's students didn't have much need for theory.
"I wonder what kind of result Jiang Yi can achieve in an assessment like this. It doesn't just depend on Soul Rings; fighting ability matters too."
Looking down at the arena, Wang Yan was, to be honest, a little worried.
The last time he examined Jiang Yi, he had only seen Jiang Yi's Martial Soul Mutation and Thousand-Year Soul Ring. He didn't know how strong Jiang Yi was in a fight, so it was natural for him to worry.
The examiners were in position, and the students below began lining up to collect their assessment forms.
"Jiang Yi, you don't look very nervous," Bei Bei said, starting a conversation from behind Jiang Yi in the line.
"There's nothing to be nervous about. You don't seem nervous either, Bei Bei," Jiang Yi replied with a smile.
"There really isn't much to be nervous about." Bei Bei paused for a moment, then smiled as well.
Judging by Jiang Yi's reaction, his strength was definitely no ordinary matter.
Soon, everyone had received their assessment forms.
"The assessment begins. Second-year Class One will go first," Du Weilun announced in a ringing voice from the platform.
"Student number one, Bei Bei, enter the arena." Upon hearing Du Weilun's command, the teacher at the side of the arena immediately began calling out numbers.
Hearing his name, Bei Bei strode into the arena. After handing over his form, he began choosing the age of the Soul Beast he would challenge.
Bei Bei said respectfully to the teacher, "I want to challenge an eight-hundred-year Soul Beast."
The assessment teacher was somewhat surprised. He hadn't expected the first student to challenge an eight-hundred-year Soul Beast.
"You're a Power Attack System Soul Master. Make sure you demonstrate your specialty during the fight."
The teacher couldn't interfere with the student's choice, however, so he could only offer that reminder.
"The assessment begins." As he spoke, he waved toward the distance.
The sound of an iron gate rising came from the dark passageway in the distance.
"Roar!" A great roar followed.
In an instant, everyone present focused their eyes on the arena.
A massive, fiery-red figure sprang out, revealing itself to everyone.
It was over four meters long, with powerful muscles covering its entire body. Flames burned around its enormous head and limbs, and its eyes were fiery red.
"A Lie Yan Tiger." Jiang Yi recognized the Soul Beast at a glance.
Facing the overwhelmingly imposing Lie Yan Tiger, Bei Bei showed no fear. Blue lightning flashed between his brows, then rapidly spread across his entire body.
His right arm suddenly swelled, bursting through his sleeve. It transformed into a sharp dragon claw covered in blue dragon scales, with blue-violet lightning constantly coursing over it.
Three Soul Rings-yellow, yellow, and purple-pulsed around his right arm.
"Roar!" The Lie Yan Tiger roared in fury, venting all its anger at being confined and caged on the human before it.
Its massive body leaped up and pounced at Bei Bei.
Facing the Lie Yan Tiger's attack, Bei Bei's First Soul Ring lit up, and dense Soul Power gathered in his right hand.
A dragon claw formed of lightning, roughly a foot across, flew toward the Lie Yan Tiger's massive body.
"Crackle!"
Violet lightning collided with the Lie Yan Tiger, and the dragon claw instantly burst into countless lightning serpents that coiled around its body.
"Roar!" Paralyzed all over by the electricity, the Lie Yan Tiger crashed to the ground from midair, roaring in pain.
But its hide was thick and its flesh tough. Its mountain-like body endured the lightning's damage, and it stubbornly rose to its feet.
This time, the Lie Yan Tiger didn't pounce again. The flames on his body erupted, forming a huge fireball in an instant and shooting it at Bei Bei.
The fireball's temperature was so high that even the previously cool air around it turned scorching.
Bei Bei's gaze sharpened. Blue-violet lightning burst from his right hand, then gathered in his palm.
A blue-violet lightning ball took shape in his palm. Pushing off with his feet, he charged toward the incoming fireball.
As he ran, Soul Power poured continuously into the lightning ball, making it grow until it could rival the fireball in size.
Bei Bei raised his right hand, and the lightning ball collided with the fireball.
"Boom!" The collision of the two forces produced a terrifying explosion and kicked up a huge cloud of dust.
Everyone's attention was drawn to the explosion as they tried to see what had happened at its center.
The next second, blue-violet light erupted within the dust, and a great net formed entirely of lightning shot out with the speed of a thunderbolt before one could cover one's ears.
The Lie Yan Tiger's body had yet to recover from the paralysis, and the net enveloped it almost instantly.
"Roar!" This time, the lightning was even stronger, drawing a pained roar from the Lie Yan Tiger.
The great lightning net had been formed by Bei Bei's second Soul Skill, Thunderous Might, so it was naturally more powerful.
The battle wasn't over yet. Bei Bei charged out and struck the Lie Yan Tiger's enormous head hard with his dragon claw.
The blow knocked the Lie Yan Tiger unconscious.
"The fight is over." The assessment teacher stepped forward promptly to make the announcement, his eyes full of appreciation as he looked at Bei Bei.
The fight just now had fully demonstrated the characteristics of a Power Attack System Soul Master.
The examiners on the platform had already awarded their scores. Du Weilun stepped forward and announced in a deep voice, "Bei Bei challenged an eight-hundred-year Soul Beast, giving him a base score of eighty points. He rendered the eight-hundred-year Soul Beast incapable of fighting and receives the full base score."
"The combat skills he demonstrated during the fight were outstanding. He receives fifty technique points and passes the assessment."
Hearing this, Bei Bei smiled and bowed to Du Weilun before leaving the arena.
Watching Bei Bei, Jiang Yi approved as well. Both his fighting strength and technique were beyond reproach.
"Next student, number two, Jiang Nannan," the assessment teacher called again shortly afterward.
"It's my turn, Brother Jiang Yi," Jiang Nannan said, eager to have a go.
"Do your best," Jiang Yi said with a smile.
Jiang Nannan walked toward the arena, her stunning figure attracting everyone's gaze.
Of course, this wasn't merely because of her looks, but because of her performance in the freshman competition.
Back then, she had led her team and defeated nearly every opponent almost single-handedly.
The moonlight that had shone on the field and her elusive, uncanny figure had defeated her opponents before they could even react.
All those she had defeated had come to call her Gui Mei Moon Shadow.

Standing in the arena, she handed her assessment form to the assessment teacher.
"Candidate, choose the age of the Soul Beast you wish to challenge."
"I want to challenge a thousand-year one," Jiang Nannan said calmly.
She was perfectly calm, but the assessment teacher froze. He suspected he had misheard.
The first had challenged an eight-hundred-year beast, and the second was challenging a thousand-year one right away. Were this year's freshmen really that formidable?
"Are you sure you want to challenge a thousand-year one?" the assessment teacher asked again to confirm.
Jiang Nannan nodded. "I'm sure."
On the platform, Du Weilun heard the conversation below clearly.
"Challenging a thousand-year Soul Beast-given Jiang Nannan's fighting style and strength, she should be able to do it."
When Jiang Nannan had revealed her Soul Skills during the freshman assessment, he had been utterly shocked.
That elusive, unpredictable Teleportation would have been difficult for even him to track immediately without knowing how it worked.
Her second Soul Skill, which created three afterimages she could freely move between, was also a striking innovation that made it hard to react in time.
He had once considered Jiang Nannan one of the most talented students in that freshman class. He said one of them because Bei Bei and Xu Sanshi were there as well.
Although Bei Bei and Xu Sanshi couldn't compare to Jiang Nannan now, given their backgrounds and bloodlines, even he couldn't predict how much they might grow in the future.
Leaving Du Weilun's thoughts aside, the assessment teacher had already announced the start of the assessment in the arena below.
The gate opened once more, and this time, an even larger Soul Beast walked out of the passage.
Every step it took made even the arena floor tremble.
Its towering body was nearly six meters tall and covered in long brown fur. Its bear paws were as large as palm-leaf fans. Although it had no obvious muscles, its mountain-like body was enough to inspire fear.
Notably, the area around its eyes was black. Without looking closely, one couldn't even tell where its eyeballs were.
"A Black-Eyed Bear. Against Nannan, it doesn't seem this Soul Beast has any advantage at all." Jiang Yi was momentarily surprised as he looked at the Soul Beast that had appeared.
He hadn't expected Jiang Nannan to be so lucky as to draw a Soul Beast that was so easy to fight.
Bear-type Soul Beasts had always been known as blind bears, and the Black-Eyed Bear was the blindest of the lot. Its eyesight was so poor that sometimes, relying on its eyes alone, it would struggle to spot prey right in front of it.
However, its poor eyesight had given it a keener sense of smell and a powerful body.
But those advantages seemed to be of no use at all against Jiang Nannan.
Jiang Nannan, standing in the arena, had naturally thought of this as well, and a faint smile appeared on her face.
"Roar!" The Black-Eyed Bear let out a great bellow, its large black nose twitching as it immediately located Jiang Nannan.
Its massive body broke into a run, like a heavy truck that made hearts pound with fear.
Standing at a distance, Jiang Nannan had already completed Martial Soul Possession, and the white fur that had appeared on her body was shrouded in moonlight.
