Kill the Chairman?
Inside the Magic Council meeting room, the tension was escalating.
The members of the Custody Enforcement Unit surrounded Hughes, their magic ready to be unleashed, the air currents causing their armor to flutter loudly.
The cold iron spear in his hand struck the ground rhythmically, producing a series of terrifying sounds, like the roar of a ferocious beast, making people tremble with fear and goosebumps rise involuntarily all over their bodies.
Crawford Him glanced coldly at Hughes, a mocking look on his face, and said, "Why haven't you arrested this dark mage who attempted to attack the Speaker and imprisoned him yet!"
He wanted to make Hughes understand the price of disrespecting the Speaker.
In the Ishgar Continent, whether a person is good or evil is entirely up to them, determined by a single word.
He said Hughes was a dark mage, so Hughes could only be a dark mage; if he said Hughes was a stinking sewer Nezumi, Hughes could only accept it.
Yajima opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but he knew he was outnumbered and powerless to save Hughes.
He decided to contact Makarov immediately upon leaving the conference room. Only Makarov could save Hughes now. With the prestige and power of the "Ten Wizard Saints," as long as Makarov spoke up, Crawford Him would be hesitant to act against Hughes in secret.
As for how to get Hughes out of prison, he needs to discuss that with Makarov.
On the other side, facing the relentless pursuit of over a hundred members of the Custody Enforcement Unit, Hughes effortlessly evaded the attacks as if walking through a field of flowers, not a single petal touching him.
Their hands and feet would frequently reach out, and each time they struck, several members of the Custody Enforcement Unit would fall to the ground, unable to get up.
Hughes knew what was going on and tried to control his strength. The members of the Custody Enforcement Unit who were lying on the ground were just unconscious and were not seriously injured.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
One breath, two breaths...
The number of members of the Custody Enforcement Unit on the ground is increasing, and their speed is constantly accelerating.
Soon, the entire conference room was empty except for a pile of "corpses," leaving only the eleven of them.
After finishing his warm-up, Hughes twisted his neck, raised an eyebrow at everyone, including Crawford Himm, his eyes full of mockery.
He'd barely arrived and was already intimidated. He was about to unleash a massive attack today, one so powerful that these scheming good-for-nothings would never dare to have any designs on him again.
Too many flies are really annoying. Today he's going to show the Magic Council what it means to be a king or general—are they born with a special destiny?
"System, accept the mission!" Hughes silently said to himself.
[The quest "Defeat the Commander of the East Blue Marine Base" has been accepted!]
[Pending Mission: Defeat the Commander of the East Blue Marine Base (10 days remaining)]
[Mission Reward: Armament Haki) ]
Unlike the nonchalant Hughes, the councilors, including Yajima, swallowed hard, staring at him in utter shock.
To be a member of the Custody Enforcement Unit, one must be quite strong. Yet, these more than one hundred powerful men were all taken down in just a few breaths right under their noses!
Based on the situations in Thunder Valley, the Kingdom of Fiore, and the Kingdom of Bosco, the investigation team reported to Fairy Tail guild member Hughes that he possessed strength far exceeding that of S-Class Mage.
At first, they were skeptical. After all, S-Class Mage are rare, let alone those far surpassing S-Class Mage. Why didn't the investigation team say that Hughes had the strength of the "Ten Wizard Saints"?
Moreover, if Hughes truly possessed such formidable strength, given Makarov's personality, he would have proudly flaunted it to the world long ago.
Based on this, they secretly had someone investigate Hughes and analyze the difficulty and level of the tasks Hughes completed.
It was estimated that Hughes ' strength was only slightly greater than that of an ordinary S-Class Mage.
Now it's clear that their previous assessment was absolutely wrong. The person before them easily defeated hundreds of members of the Custody Enforcement Unit with just his physical strength. If he were to use the flames in his hands, his strength would increase by at least several times.
The investigation team was right; this Hughes definitely possesses strength far exceeding that of S-Class Mage.
As Hughes slowly walked towards Crawford Him, Michello glanced at the two of them discreetly, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
A member of parliament who doesn't want to be speaker is not a qualified member of parliament.
Michello silently hoped that Hughes could kill Crawford Himm, and then he could use that to rally the powerful warriors of the entire continent to attack Hughes.
He could also use this opportunity to promote himself, and then, through a series of private exchanges of benefits, get everyone in the Magic Council to "voluntarily" nominate him as their chairman.
He watched as Hughes slowly walked towards him, and the ball of fire in his hand grew ever larger.
Crawford Him frowned. His magic was Super Archive Magic, not magic that pursued great power, and it had virtually no effect on enemies.
To deal with a powerful mage like Hughes, we still need to rely more on the Magic Council's Custody Enforcement Unit and investigation teams.
Thinking of this, Crawford Him suddenly raised his fat, greasy hand, like a pig's paw, and slapped the button not far away.
Since a hundred or so members of the Custody Enforcement Unit couldn't handle this dark mage who dared to defy the Great Speaker, then let's call two hundred, three hundred...
He simply refused to believe it!
Once Hughes is held back, he will issue a summons to gather the Ten Wizard Saints Ones to deal with this rebellious man.
But Hughes would not do as he wished; after all, while rotten weeds are easy to pull, pulling too many will become tiresome.
In an instant, Hughes appeared in front of Crawford Him, his free left hand easily grabbing Crawford Him's restless, chubby hand. With a snap, Crawford Him's right hand twisted into a pretzel.
Before Crawford Him could even utter a cry of pain, Hughes slashed upwards with his left hand and grabbed him by the neck, silencing Crawford Him's scream.
"Stand still and don't do anything funny, and we can all live in peace."
"You trash aren't worth my life!"
Hughes held up Crawford Him, facing all the councilors, and grinned.
As he spoke, Hughes raised the ball of fire in his hand. After being nurtured for some time, the flame in his hand had become extremely terrifying, and even the air seemed to fear it, with wisps of smoke rising from it.
Ogre and the others looked at Hughes with solemn expressions, and even Michello, who was secretly delighted, pretended to be very good at it.
"Hughes, you should know that the person you're choking is the Chairman of the Magic Council, threatening..."
Before Ogre could finish his formal remarks, Hughes interrupted with a laugh, shaking Crawford in his hand like he was grabbing a chicken by the neck.
"It wasn't me who grabbed the Speaker's neck; it was the Speaker who forcibly used his neck to control my hands. You can't be like the Speaker, lying through your teeth and throwing mud at me!"
With that, Hughes raised his right hand, the ball of flame, and grazed Crawford Him. The terrifying ball of flame flew from Hughes's hand and shot straight through the roof of the conference room, roaring through the void!
