Unohana: Can I Have Him?
Time flies.
Before she knew it, the Yoruichi Shihōin Unohana to a flower arranging event.
On this day, the sunlight in Seireitei was exceptionally gentle, bathing the courtyard of the Fourth Division.
As the messenger, Wang Xun accompanied the Second Division Captain Yoruichi and Vice-Captain Marechiyo Ōmaeda the Fourth Division.
As soon as I stepped into the Fourth Division, I felt an atmosphere completely different from that of the Second Division.
A faint herbal scent filled the air, creating an exceptionally peaceful and comfortable atmosphere.
Inside the event room, Unohana had already prepared the flower arrangement tools.
Several female members dressed in Shinigami uniforms stood around, their expressions focused.
They held flower branches in their hands, carefully pruning and arranging them.
Retsu Unohana stood to the side, wearing a loose Captain's Haori, with a quiet demeanor, occasionally offering a few words of guidance.
Wang Xun and Ōmaeda stood not far away, glancing at the flower arranging activity.
The two exchanged a glance, both seeing a hint of helplessness in each other's eyes.
Such gentle and leisurely pursuits have never been their forte.
The two stood in a corner, chatting about opening a shop on Noble Street.
Yoruichi then approached Unohana in acknowledgment.
When Unohana saw Yoruichi arrive, a gentle smile appeared on her face.
She gestured for the female team members to continue, then turned and walked to a table to the side, where she poured Yoruichi a cup of hot tea.
"Captain Shihoin, it's been a long time. Please have a seat."
Yoruichi sat down properly, picked up her teacup, and took a small sip.
"Captain Unohana certainly has a good time and such leisure."
Retsu Unohana chuckled softly, her gaze falling on the female squad member arranging flowers in the courtyard.
"The members of the Fourth Division are usually busy with rescue operations, but occasionally tending to flowers allows them to find peace of mind and tranquility."
The art of flower arranging lies not in the preciousness of the flowers or the complexity of the arrangement, but in the resonance between the heart and the flowers, and in the artistic conception it evokes.
"Every flower, every leaf, every branch, every bud is a condensation of the energy of heaven and earth. We must follow the natural flow and not force it, just as a doctor must heal the soul by respecting its essence."
As she spoke, she picked up a white camellia branch, gently trimmed off the excess leaves, and with a slight flick of her wrist, placed the branch into the vase.
Its location is just right, neither ostentatious nor abrupt.
The flowers in the vase complement each other, and the well-placed negative space creates a profound and evocative atmosphere.
Yoruichi looked at the flower arrangement in her hands, a hint of approval flashed in his eyes, but his tone gradually became more serious, no longer so casual.
"Captain Unohana, you invited me here not just for tea and flower arranging, were you?"
Retsu Unohana smiled slightly, did not deny it, picked up her teacup, gently swirled it, and spoke in a calm tone.
"Captain Shihoin is indeed intelligent. Recently, the Soul Society has been quite unstable, with a large-scale disappearance of Soul Reaper and souls from Rukongai."
"Even the number of patients being treated by the Fourth Division is significantly higher than usual."
She paused, then changed the subject, subtly mentioning the hidden story behind it all.
"I'm quite curious, Captain Shihoin's Stealth Force, which has the best intelligence network, has it found anything?"
Upon hearing Yoruichi's eyes flashed with a sharp glint, and she said calmly.
"I have already assigned Kisuke Urahara, the Third Seat of the Second Division, to be in charge of this matter."
"That guy is very capable, and he's meticulous and efficient. There won't be any problems entrusting this matter to him."
She looked at Retsu Unohana, her tone tinged with doubt.
"However, Captain Unohana, you've also been paying attention to this matter?"
Retsu Unohana nodded slightly, her tone carrying a hint of meaning.
"It's not that I'm paying special attention, it's just that it seems a bit coincidental. You know about the expansion of the Shin'ō Medical Institute, right?"
Yoruichi nodded slightly, Unohana continued.
"Once it's completed, I'll be one less deputy captain. He'll be transferred by the Central 46 Chambers to become the general agent of the Shin'ō Medical Institute."
Yoruichi's eyes narrowed slightly upon hearing this, and she instantly and keenly sensed the meaning behind Retsu Unohana's words.
"The Shin'ō Medical Institute, I've heard of it. The Tsunayashiro Clan is pushing it hard, and other noble families are following suit."
"It's just a private medical institution serving the nobility, yet they're making quite a fuss about it."
She paused, a hint of helplessness in her voice.
"Unfortunately, this is a decision among nobles, and it was spearheaded by the Central 46 Chambers. Given my current status, it's not appropriate for me to interfere."
Retsu Unohana nodded slightly, a hint of understanding flashing in her eyes.
The two exchanged a glance but said nothing more.
Everything is understood without words.
They both knew that the aristocracy's ambitions never stopped there.
Yoruichi the meaning behind Unohana's words.
The expansion of the Shin'ō Medical Institute and the disappearance of souls must be intricately connected.
However, Yoruichi lacks sufficient evidence and is constrained by her status, making it inconvenient for her to act rashly.
After a moment of silence, Retsu Unohana spoke again, her gaze fixed on the courtyard, her tone carrying a hint of approval.
"Speaking of which, Captain Shihoin has a promising talent among his men."
Yoruichi put down her teacup, a look of curiosity on her face.
"Captain Unohana is referring to Wang Xun?"
"Indeed, Wang Xun's talent in the Kaidō is unparalleled in my life. In just over two months, he has already reached the level of Seated Officer, which is truly remarkable."
Unohana looked at Yoruichi, her gentle tone carrying a hint of appreciation.
"However, within the Second Division, Wang Xun's talent for Kaidō Dao could not ultimately be fully utilized."
"I wonder if Captain Shihoin could spare Wang Xun's attention and allow him to remain in the Fourth Division?"
As she spoke, Retsu Unohana picked up another flower branch and gently trimmed it.
With a slight flick of her wrist, she inserted the flower branch into the vase, creating a harmonious contrast with the camellias already there, further enhancing the serene and evocative atmosphere.
Yoruichi pondered for a moment upon hearing this.
Wang Xun's Kaidō and the suggestions made by Unohana were somewhat unexpected to her.
However, Wang Xun wasn't that important to her.
In Yoruichi's eyes, Wang Xun was nothing more than a talented newcomer with a somewhat mysterious background.
But now that she has learned enough, it's not that she absolutely has to keep her in the Second Division for long. Yoruichi chuckled softly and said slowly.
"Captain Unohana has spoken, I naturally can't refuse. However, ultimately, this matter depends on Wang Xun's own wishes."
"I'll ask him what he thinks later. If he wants to stay in the Fourth Division, I won't stop him; if he doesn't want to, I won't force him."
Upon hearing this, Retsu Unohana smiled with satisfaction, nodded slightly, picked up her teacup, and raised it towards Yoruichi.
"Thank you very much, Captain Shihoin. I am extremely grateful no matter the outcome."
Yoruichi smiled, raised his glass, and lightly clinked it against hers.
Ripples spread across the tea, and behind their smiles lay their own thoughts.
