Aizen's Plan
Under the moonlight, Nanao hugged Wang Xun tightly, her shoulders trembling slightly.
A moment later, she released her grip, took a step back, and her eyes were slightly red.
Wang Xun smiled and handed her the kettle.
After chatting with Nanao for a while, the night deepened.
Wang Xun glanced at the sky and then escorted Nanao back to her dormitory.
He stood there, watching the figure disappear through the door.
After a long while, he withdrew his gaze, turned, and left.
A few days later, at the Fifth Division Barracks.
Night had fallen, and most of the team members were already resting.
Only the vice-captain's room had its lights on.
Aizen sat at his desk, several documents spread out in front of him, which were personnel files.
Specifically, it refers to the list of the next batch of victims.
His gaze fell upon it.
Aizen lowered his head in thought, then glanced at the topmost image, pondering it silently.
Wang Xun is currently the Fourth Seat of the Fourth Division.
He graduated early from the fifth class of the Shin'ō Academy and briefly served in the Second Division before being transferred to the Fourth Division.
He graduated from the Spiritual Arts Academy and joined the Second Division.
Within six months, he was transferred to the Fourth Division and subsequently became the Fourth Seat.
This promotion speed is neither fast nor slow.
After all, it's not uncommon to see some highly talented individuals become Third Seat or Fourth Seat right after graduation.
In the Gotei 13, rising from a rookie to Fourth Seat in half a year is considered excellent, but it's not unprecedented.
Aizen continued reading, revealing that besides his exceptional talent Kaidō the Kido and his outstanding performance in the Kidō, he frequently visited the Kidō Corps to study.
Aside from that, there were no other notable achievements.
But these were clearly not the things Aizen wanted to see.
However, he did not come away empty-handed.
In the past few days, on his way to the Fourth Division, he activated the Kyōka Suigetsu.
After concealing his existence through illusions, and further disguised by the dense forest and the Kidō, he followed the trail to the back mountain of the Fourth Division.
Strangely, he actually saw Unohana teaching Wang Xun the Kendō.
When he first saw it, he couldn't quite believe his eyes.
Retsu Unohana personally instructs others in Kendō?
In the decades since Aizen joined the Gotei 13, he had never seen it.
This was somewhat unexpected for him.
After all, in his memory, after Unohana became the Fourth Division Captain, he had never heard of her teaching Kendō to anyone.
Considering the recent actions of the nobles and the rumors surrounding the Shin'ō Medical Institute, Aizen probably now understood Wang Xun's position.
So it turns out that Unohana found herself a substitute for the vice-captain.
Even so, does he need to be taught Kendō?
What exactly is so special about Wang Xun?
As Aizen watched, he gradually realized that Wang Xun's Kendō was exceptionally advanced.
In terms of skill alone, he is not even inferior to some captains who rely too much on the power of their Zanpakuto.
His talent for Kendō is the reason why Unohana specifically taught him; that makes sense...
During his observation, Aizen discovered that the Reiatsu displayed by Wang Xun was a genuine Fifth-Class Spiritual Might.
In just six months, his Reiatsu rose to the Vice-Captain-level; he truly deserves to be called a genius.
But in Aizen's eyes, that was all.
Aizen put down the documents and fell into deep thought.
Based on the information currently available, Wang Xun doesn't seem to have anything particularly special about him.
A talented young man was spotted by Unohana and recruited into the Fourth Division for training.
Such stories are not uncommon in the Gotei 13.
But Aizen felt that something was off.
He recalled the conversation between Wang Xun and the silver-haired boy that night.
Those words lingered in his mind.
Aizen put down the document, stood up, and walked to the window.
Outside the window, the night was deep.
His gaze was directed towards the Fourth Division.
The young man Wang Xun should be resting in a room right now.
A talented young man was spotted by Unohana and began learning Kendō from Unohana, steadily rising through the ranks in the Fourth Division.
Everything seems normal.
But it doesn't matter anyway.
Aizen turned around and walked back to his desk.
He picked up another document.
That was a progress report on the Hollowfication Experiment.
[Experimental Subject Number] X-17
[Status] Failed, processed [Note] The experimental subject collapsed during the Hollowfication process, and its soul dissipated.
[Experimental Subject Number] X-18
[Status] Failed, processed [Remarks] The test subject achieved Partial Hollowfication, unconscious, and the soul dissipated after twenty-three minutes.
[Experimental Subject Number] X-19
[Status] Failed, processed [Remarks] The test subject achieved Partial Hollowfication, unconscious, and the soul dissipated after one hour.
Aizen turned the pages one by one.
These test subjects included souls from Rukongai and Soul Reaper from the Gotei 13.
Their fates were all similar: either their souls dissipated on the spot.
Either they lose their minds after exhibiting illusory characteristics, barely surviving for a while, but ultimately their soul dissipates.
To date, no experimental subject has been able to maintain a truly stable Hollowfication state.
Ultimately, it is very likely due to the total amount of Reiatsu.
He had tried some higher- Seated Officer, but they still couldn't hold their positions for long.
Therefore, Aizen deduced that to stably maintain Hollowfication Reiatsu level, one must possess at least Fifth-Class Spiritual Might.
That's about the level of a vice-captain.
However, every single character of this caliber in the Seireitei is someone you can't easily take down.
Therefore, Aizen has begun to draft some experimental candidates and follow-up plans.
The first to be affected is the current Fifth Division Captain, Shinji Hirako.
After that, he needs to plan out some suitable personnel so that Aizen can fill the vacancies for captains and vice-captains.
But now, he has some radical ideas.
Why don't we test it out on one person first?
Wang Xun, a talented young man, was noticed by Unohana and steadily rose through the ranks in the Fourth Division.
If someone like that suddenly disappeared, would anyone suspect anything?
Of course.
Unohana isn't stupid.
If a subordinate she has taken a liking to suddenly disappears or dies, she will definitely investigate thoroughly.
Therefore, Aizen needed a foolproof plan without any loopholes.
Aizen put down the documents and lowered his head in deep thought.
He needs to create a misleading situation.
In this way, even if Unohana wants to investigate, she will only find another direction that is clear but wrong, and will not connect it to anything else.
A glint flashed in Aizen's eyes.
He already had an idea.
A few days later, the Fourth Division.
Wang Xun was organizing medical supplies when a team member ran over.
"Fourth Seat Wang Xun!"
Wang Xun raised his head.
"The Tenth Division has sent a request for assistance, saying they've found some wounded in Rukongai with strange injuries, and they need the Fourth Division to send reinforcements."
Wang Xun's brow twitched slightly.
"What are the specific arrangements?"
"Captain Unohana looked at the Seated Officer were currently without missions and said, 'Only you have time.'"
Wang Xun was silent for a moment, then nodded.
"Knew.
Afterwards, he packed his things and, with several members of the Fourth Division, headed out of the Seireitei.
