Background and History

Arrival in the Gong Household

Gong Xue brings Na'er home as a silver-haired girl who remembers her name but cannot recall her age. Gong Yu allows her to stay and names her Gong Na'er, making her the household's ninth sister. At her first breakfast, her appetite rivals his, and additional food has to be purchased 10.

The Silver Dragon King's consciousness awakens within her soon afterward and secretly joins Gong Yu in his carriage. Gong Yu recognizes the change in her gaze. The awakened consciousness initially rejects the idea of treating human girls as elder sisters, but Gong Yu insists that she respect Na'er's place in the household 10 11.

The Golden Dragon King Bloodline

The Silver Dragon King is drawn to Gong Yu's Golden Dragon King Bloodline, but cannot absorb it. She requests a drop of his blood for study and remains interested despite his warning that blood removed from his body cannot be fused with her own 11.

Gong Yu proposes that their bloodlines might instead be united through a future child. The Silver Dragon King accepts because of the possibility of creating a new Dragon God. After her consciousness goes dormant, Na'er recalls the conversation and accepts Gong Yu's declaration that she is his fiancée 11.

Their supposed childhood engagement is a cover story devised by Gong Yu, not an established part of Na'er's past. It includes invented details about murdered parents, lost memories, and an address that led her to his home. Early Expeditions

In Sunset Forest, Na'er senses an elemental bloodline call that Gong Yu identifies as coming from the Ice Dragon King and Fire Dragon King. She agrees to postpone investigating after he warns that the location may be watched by the Divine Realm 11.

Na'er subsequently disables an almost four-thousand-year-old Ice Jade Borer Spider, leaving Gong Yu to kill it and absorb its Soul Ring. On later expeditions, she defeats the Three-Legged Frost Toad for Gong Qianqian and the Three-Headed Scarlet Demon Mastiff for Gong Niuniu 11 12 14 15.

Immortal Herbs and Recovery

Before entering the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well's surroundings, Na'er temporarily separates from the Silver Dragon King's other consciousness, which returns to the Lake of Life. Na'er describes herself as human during this separation 28.

At the medicinal garden, she successfully claims the Lovesick Heartbreak Red, proving that her affection for Gong Yu is genuine. She also communicates with the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings' surviving souls and obtains their agreement to reside in Soul Bones that Gong Yu will absorb 29.

After consuming the herb, Na'er returns to merge with her other consciousness and hibernate. She initially estimates one to two years of sleep and expects the medicine to heal at least another thirty percent of her injuries. A later conversation describes the hibernation as lasting over two years 33 61.

Gong Yu later gives her Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng, which complements the Lovesick Heartbreak Red. She expects to sleep for three to seven days, but is awakened early after digesting only a third of its medicinal power. Her reserve disappears in combat. She eagerly volunteers to fight, dismantles dangerous Soul Beasts with precision, and threatens the defeated Ice Jade Borer Spider before cheerfully inviting Gong Yu to collect its ring. She distinguishes dragons from other Soul Beasts rather than treating every species as her own kind 12 15.

Nevertheless, she cares about the Soul Beast Clan's survival. She asks Gong Yu to spare unoffending hundred-thousand-year Soul Beasts and enthusiastically develops technology that reduces the need to kill them. Her compassion has limits: after Gong Yu describes an alleged future Tang-family scheme against her, she withdraws her objections to his actions against them 61 75 76.

Na'er regards herself as Gong Yu's principal partner and guards that position. She tolerates his other relationships but worries about being isolated among his increasingly powerful human companions. This prompts her to seek allies among Zi Ji, Bi Ji, and the Far North's rulers 84 119.
