Fighting Mordo
After Kaecilius left, Xiahou searched the room, which was about six or seven square meters. But aside from a bed, a desk and a chair, there was only an empty bookcase without a single book on it.
Xiahou began to complain. "That's not fair! Why did Strange have Wi-Fi when he came here, but I don't? Ancient One, you're playing favorites!"
The Ancient One's voice suddenly rang in his ear. "I'm not playing favorites. It's just that Wi-Fi isn't in use at this time. Even if I gave it to you, you wouldn't be able to use it!"
Xiahou jumped and immediately cursed. "Are you some kind of voyeur? Do you have to eavesdrop on everything?"
The Ancient One's voice came again. "I'm not trying to eavesdrop. I naturally sense it when you say my name. So next time you curse me, don't say my name. Thinking it won't do either!"
Xiahou (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻. He really couldn't go on like this.
When the Ancient One's voice didn't return, he pulled out the phone Abigail had given him, planning to call them and complain. But the moment he saw there was no signal, he was speechless again. He could put up with no Wi-Fi, since there really wasn't any hardware to use it here, but now he was being told there wasn't even a signal! That was too much!
Xiahou cursed again. "Ancient One! Get out here! What's with the lack of signal? If you don't give me a reason today, I'll fight you!"
This time, Xiahou's voice carried across most of Kamar-Taj. The mages who heard him were secretly astonished. Where had this madman come from? He actually dared to call the Sorcerer Supreme by name and act so arrogantly. If he survived, they would have to get to know him.
The Ancient One's voice came again. "This is the Himalayas! If you're so capable, go install a cell tower yourself! Also, I'm going into seclusion. Don't disturb me if there's nothing important, and don't disturb me if there is!"
After that, no matter how Xiahou shouted, she didn't appear again.
The mages of Kamar-Taj learned about a formidable man named Xiahou, and rumors began to spread that he and the Ancient One had a secret relationship. He was either her son or her lover. But everyone who spread the rumors disappeared from Kamar-Taj, so no one dared continue discussing the subject.
Seeing that he wasn't getting a response, Xiahou could only prepare for bed and continue talking with Siegfried in his dreams.
A loud bell rang out, instantly startling Xiahou awake. Seeing that the sky outside was only just beginning to brighten, he wrapped the blanket more tightly around himself. What normal person gets up this early?
But after lying there for a while, he remembered that Uncle Mads had told him to go to the training ground in the morning, so he had to crawl out of his warm bed. As soon as he did, he felt as though his body had grown a little stronger again, but he hadn't done anything.
He could only open his status panel to check. When he saw that his strength had risen to 160, his agility to 63 and his intelligence to 60, he instantly woke up completely. He had somehow gained more than thirty attribute points again.
Then he saw the description after the Heart of the Dragon Slayer: it slowly strengthened his physical stats. He immediately understood why his attributes had increased, but did this count as slow? What would fast look like?
Without looking into it any further, he followed the route he had taken the day before and went straight to the training ground.
The training ground was already full of mages, a little over forty of them. Kaecilius stood at the front, facing the gathered mages. When he saw Xiahou arrive, he beckoned him over to his side.
Then he introduced him to the mages below. "This is Xiahou. He'll be studying at Kamar-Taj for two and a half years. The Sorcerer Supreme personally brought him here, so get acquainted with him."
The mages below nodded at Xiahou and began whispering among themselves. Kaecilius clapped his hands, had Xiahou stand below beside Karl Mordo, and said, "Now we'll begin the morning sparring!"
As soon as Xiahou reached Mordo's side, Mordo pulled him over to the edge of the training ground, leaving the center clear. Two mages then stepped into the middle, bowed to each other, conjured their respective magical weapons and began to fight.
As their weapons clashed, sparks flew across the training ground. Xiahou watched from the side, clicking his tongue in amazement. Sure enough, in Marvel, aside from the Ancient One and Strange, everyone's a melee mage!
And Strange spent most of his time slacking off. He barely used any large-scale magic. The Ancient One showed off a couple of times and then went straight to GG. There really was a reason people said she died because the special effects were too expensive.
The Ancient One, who was drinking tea in a quiet room, inexplicably sneezed. After closing her eyes to check, she sighed again. I really want to throw him off Earth! Should I bring Strange over early?
Mordo, the black man standing beside Xiahou, gave off an utterly serious impression. Xiahou had originally wanted to chat with him, but one look at his expression instantly killed the desire. He didn't much like black people to begin with, and this one was a traitor with an unlikeable personality. He'd better not hang around with him.
As everyone took turns entering the ring, only Kaecilius, Mordo and Xiahou were left. After glancing at Xiahou, Mordo walked to the very center of the training ground and challenged Kaecilius to a fight.
Xiahou saw this and thought, Hey! I haven't even rejected you yet, and you're rejecting me first?
He spoke up. "Let me spar with Mage Mordo instead! I'd like to try fighting against a mage's style too."
With that, he walked straight over to stand opposite Mordo. Copying the mages' earlier movements, he bowed to Mordo and took out the Red Queen.
The moment the Red Queen appeared, the mages present sensed the demonic aura coming from it.
Mordo looked particularly displeased. "Why are you using a demon's weapon?"
Hearing Mordo's interrogative question, Xiahou immediately became unhappy. "What business is it of yours what I use? Even the Ancient One hasn't stopped me, so what gives you the right?"
Mordo's already dark face grew a shade darker, almost absorbing the light around him.
But Xiahou had a point, so Mordo could only return the bow and take out his magic staff.
As Mordo channeled magic into it, the staff became a three-section staff, its sections linked by magic and giving off little sparks.
Not to be outdone, Xiahou activated the Red Queen's EX mode. Flames began to rise from the blade, and once it reached first gear, Xiahou attacked first.
He slashed at Mordo with an Aerial Rave, and Mordo hurriedly blocked with his staff. Flames and magical sparks flew everywhere where the two weapons met. But Xiahou's strength was clearly more than a whole level above Mordo's, and even with the support of his magic, Mordo couldn't hold out for long.
He was driven back four or five meters, and a notch appeared in his staff.
Seeing this, Xiahou taunted him. "Mage Mordo, looks like you're not as strong as you make yourself out to be!"
Mordo felt even more stifled. Silently channeling more magic into his weapon, he lashed out at Xiahou with the staff again.
Empowered by his magic, the staff instantly extended by more than five meters. Xiahou hurriedly raised his sword to block, but he was still a beat too slow and was knocked back more than three meters.
Mordo spoke up too. "You're not much better!"
Xiahou was speechless. Someone tell me, why can your staff get so long? He charged forward again, holding his sword in one hand, while quietly drawing the Blue Rose and channeling magic into it with his left hand.
Seeing Xiahou coming at him again, Mordo didn't think much of it and went to meet him with his staff. After they exchanged several blows, Xiahou pointed the Blue Rose straight at Mordo.
At the same time, he shouted, "Watch the gun!"
Mordo was startled by the handgun Xiahou had suddenly pulled out and hurriedly conjured a magic shield in front of himself.
But the hastily conjured shield couldn't possibly stop a shot Xiahou had planned for so long.
The shield held for only a moment before shattering. The bullet continued forward with its remaining force, struck Mordo in the chest and sent him flying.
Mordo flew straight out of the training ground and rolled several times on the ground. After getting up, he spat out a mouthful of blood. Though his magic had protected him from being pierced by the bullet, he had absorbed its full impact.
He felt as though all his internal organs were groaning in pain.
Mordo said, "You have no martial virtue! You actually used a gun!"
Xiahou shot back, "You never said I couldn't use a gun! And there's no rule saying I can only use one weapon, right?"
Hearing Xiahou's words, Mordo could only swallow the loss. He walked angrily to the other side of the training ground, showing that he didn't want to stand beside someone with no martial virtue.
Kaecilius, who hadn't turned evil, still cared a great deal about his junior brother. He walked over to Mordo and began examining his injuries.
At the same time, he said to Xiahou, "Exercise restraint in your next fight. Don't deliberately hurt other mages!"
Xiahou waved a hand with an unconcerned expression. "All right! Got it! Anything else? If not, I'm going to find the Ancient One for tea."
Kaecilius was immediately at a loss for words. He said nothing more except, "That's all!"
Xiahou immediately shouted to the surroundings, "Ancient One! Ancient One! Can't you hear me? I want tea! Open a door for me!"
The many mages around him were like Σ(゜ロ゜;). Was this guy really that bold?
