Abigor Went Down in One Shot?
After arriving at the hotel, Roxanne took Xiahou back to the room she had booked. They went into the living room and sat down facing each other.
She couldn't help asking, "Can you tell me now why he hired you to protect me?"
Instead, Xiahou picked up the landline beside him and called the front desk to order dinner.
Only then did he answer. "Hmm, how should I put this? Johnny signed a contract with a demon, and that demon's son secretly came to the human world and is getting ready to make trouble for him. He was afraid the demon's son would hurt you, so he hired me!"
Roxanne jumped to her feet, agitated. "Is that true? How is that possible? Are there really demons in the world? Doesn't that mean Johnny's in danger? No, I have to find him!"
She started for the door, but Xiahou stopped her and explained helplessly, "Calm down! What could you do if you found him? Besides, what's so strange about demons existing? He's safe, all right? In a little while, we'll be able to watch the show from here. You can go find him tomorrow!"
Roxanne had no choice but to sit back down. Just then, there was a knock at the door. Xiahou went over and opened it. The dinner he had ordered had arrived.
Xiahou wheeled the food cart into the living room and set out the plates. Then he said to Roxanne, "Stop worrying about it and eat first! In a little while, we'll get to watch Johnny take down a plane!"
Roxanne wasn't in the mood to eat. Instead, she asked, "Take down what plane?"
Xiahou forked some pasta into his mouth and answered as he ate, "Never mind that. Eat first, and you'll see in a little while!"
But he was thinking, Leaving things half-said really is addictive! No wonder so many people like being Riddlers.
Seeing that Xiahou really wasn't going to answer her, Roxanne had no choice but to sit down with a frustrated look. She picked up a cup of coffee and sipped at it absentmindedly, still wondering whether this man was lying to her.
They finished dinner in that strange atmosphere.
Xiahou took a cup of coffee over to the floor-to-ceiling window and looked out at the city at night. Why hasn't it started yet? What's taking so long?
Roxanne walked over beside him and looked down at the street outside. Still a little worried, she asked, "Was everything you just said true? Johnny really won't be in danger?"
A hint of a smile appeared on Xiahou's lips. "It's true! He won't be in danger! But do you like skeletons? The kind that are on fire?"
Roxanne asked in confusion, "What skeleton? What do you mean?"
Xiahou pointed down at a line of fire that had suddenly appeared on a street. "Isn't that one right there? The Johnny you're worried about is cosplaying as a skeleton while he hunts down a demon!"
Roxanne looked where Xiahou was pointing and saw a blazing fireball racing past like a meteor, leaving a long, fiercely burning trail on the ground, as though a fire dragon were roaring across it.
The fireball raced at astonishing speed toward a nearby building, as if the towering structure were its target.
When the fireball reached the building, it didn't slow down. Instead, it raced straight up the glass exterior like a burning rocket.
The glass melted instantly in the fireball's wake. The fireball continued upward effortlessly, finally shooting straight onto the rooftop like a burning meteor.
She pointed at the fireball in astonishment. "You're saying that's Johnny?"
Xiahou was busy taking pictures with a camera. Without looking back, he answered, "Yep! What do you think? Isn't he cool? I like his motorcycle best, but I don't have Hellfire, so I can't make it transform!"
Hearing Xiahou's confirmation, Roxanne turned and headed straight for the door.
Xiahou forgot all about taking pictures and hurriedly asked, "Where are you going? Don't tell me you're going over there? Isn't it better to watch the show from here?"
Roxanne turned and glared at him, agitated. "No! I'm going to find Johnny! What he's doing is too dangerous!"
With that, she rushed toward the elevator without looking back.
Xiahou sighed helplessly and muttered under his breath, "Ah, women are such a hassle!"
But he still chased after her, catching up in an instant. "Forget it, I'll take you there! If I hadn't taken the job, I wouldn't even bother with you!"
They went downstairs, and Roxanne was just about to hail a taxi when Xiahou's voice came from beside her. "Get on! Hurry!"
Roxanne looked at Xiahou, who was sitting astride a motorcycle. Though she was curious where he had gotten it, she got on anyway.
Seeing that Roxanne was on the back seat, Xiahou warned her, "Hold on tight, and don't hug me! I don't want a skeleton coming after me!"
Roxanne pulled back the hands she had been about to reach out with and gripped the underside of the seat, doing her best to hold herself in place.
Once she was seated, Xiahou accelerated and shot off. Roxanne nearly fell off and tightened her grip.
She cursed Xiahou inwardly. There's something wrong with this man!
Fortunately, it wasn't far, and they soon arrived beneath the building. Johnny was fighting Abigor.
Like a ghost, Abigor completely merged his body into the wind element around him. His body became transparent and insubstantial, as though he had become one with the wind, making his presence hard to detect.
Johnny's eyes widened as he watched Abigor gradually disappear before him. He swung the chain in his hand through the air, trying to catch a trace of Abigor, but every attack was in vain.
Johnny's chain lashed at Abigor like a whip, but it passed through him as though through air, without producing the slightest reaction. Abigor was like a phantom, completely immune to physical attacks.
He began taunting Johnny. "Is that all the power you have, Ghost Rider? You can't hurt me like that! Prepare to die!"
Seeing this, Roxanne hurriedly grabbed Xiahou's arm and pleaded, "You must have a way, right? Please, help him! I'm begging you!"
Xiahou thought, Does he really need my help? To a certain extent, Abigor really is hard to deal with, but Ghost Rider is a bug in Marvel!
Even so, he pulled out Blue Rose and began charging it. He also wanted to see whether he could deal with this kind of demon!
Xiahou took a deep breath and continuously poured the magic power in his body into Blue Rose. Three thousand points of magic power surged and roared through the gun like a raging torrent, causing it to gradually emit a dazzling red light.
As the magic power continued to gather, a faint red halo began to appear over Blue Rose. Like burning flames, it flickered and spread until it enveloped the entire gun.
At last, with Xiahou pouring all his strength into it, Blue Rose reached its third charging stage. With a loud hum, the gun shuddered, and a beam of red light shot from its muzzle like lightning.
Like a burning meteor, the red beam tore through the void and raced straight toward Abigor in the air, carrying boundless power.
At the sight of it, Abigor's expression changed drastically. He sensed the terrifying power contained in the red light, a power capable of destroying him completely.
But it was already too late to dodge. The red beam struck his body in an instant.
In a flash, Abigor's body began to twist and deform from the inside out, as though an invisible hand were kneading it. His bones cracked, his muscles were forcibly torn apart, and blood splattered everywhere.
Abigor let out a terrified shout. "No!" His voice was filled with despair and fear, as though it were the final cry of his life.
At the same time, the space around him began to warp violently, as if being pulled by an immense force. The distortion grew more severe until it formed a huge vortex that tightly enveloped Abigor.
As space continued to contract, Abigor's body was compressed smaller and smaller, until it was condensed into a single point. Then, amid a dazzling light, he vanished completely.
Johnny had just finished enchanting his chain when Abigor was wiped out by the attack that came out of nowhere, leaving him feeling suspended halfway.
The people around Xiahou and the CODs who had surrounded them all turned to look at him. The CODs silently drew their pistols and aimed at him, and the sheriff leading them said, "I don't know what you did, but please put down the gun, sir!"
Roxanne was astonished too. Was this harmless-looking man really that powerful? It seemed Johnny had good reason to spend so much money!
Hearing the COD's call, Xiahou simply twirled his gun, brought the muzzle to his lips, and blew on it before asking, "Are you talking to me?"
The sheriff in the lead said, "Yes, sir! Please put down the gun in your hand! Don't make any dangerous moves!"
Xiahou clicked his tongue twice. Why hadn't they said anything when he had fired and wiped out the demon just now?
Even so, he put Blue Rose back in his backpack and said nonchalantly, "All right, all right! I've put it away. Now what?"
But before the sheriff could say anything else, the sound of something heavy landing and the impact that came with it shook everyone nearby.
It was Johnny riding his motorcycle down from the building. The ground around him had been completely cracked by the impact.
When the CODs saw the skeleton land, they hurriedly turned their guns on him and shouted various warnings.
Xiahou was speechless. Should he call them brave? Or were there simply too few superpowered people around these days? They actually dared threaten Ghost Rider with their lousy little guns?
But then he thought about how the things Mutants had done seemed to revolve around the military and their own kind, with ordinary people hardly ever caught up in them. He immediately understood again. Only after Tony became Iron Man would more ordinary people be caught up in the villains' actions.
Johnny, however, had spotted his ex-girlfriend and completely ignored their warnings. He was now walking toward Roxanne.
