Mordred's First Battle
After leaving the city, both vehicles began accelerating like crazy. They broke 300 in an instant and kept gaining speed.
Mordred's expression had changed. She loved the feeling of racing along, and the fact that they were competing made her even more enthusiastic.
Once Johnny reached 400, his acceleration began to slow, even though he had previously modified his motorcycle with Hellfire. It was daytime now, so he couldn't enchant it.
Mordred kept accelerating and shouted, "Is that all you've got? Go faster!"
Xiahou looked at the delighted Mordred and thought to himself, She's really just a child in age. The smallest thing can make her this happy.
He didn't forget to praise her, either. "That's it! You're amazing, Mordred! Keep pulling ahead of them!"
Mordred couldn't help saying proudly when she heard Xiahou's praise, "Don't worry! They'll never catch us!"
Xiahou continued praising her. "That's right! Your driving is first-rate, Mordred. Nice car, isn't it?"
"I love it, especially the color! Leave the driving to me from now on!"
Mordred said she was very satisfied with the car and reached out to stroke the dashboard.
Johnny chased desperately behind them. Like two streaks of lightning, the vehicles raced down the highway into the distance.
High in the sky, not far behind them, a cloaked fighter jet slowly followed.
A red-haired woman with a knockout figure spoke to the slightly balding white man beside her.
"Coulson, are we just going to follow them like this? Should we make contact first?"
"No, Natasha. Let's observe them from a distance and establish their threat level first. Besides, there are two more strangers with them now. Let's wait for headquarters to confirm their identities."
"Yes, sir, as you wish."
It was already getting dark by the time Xiahou and the others reached the site of San Venganza village.
This was a completely forgotten land, surrounded by withered trees, with a swamp covering one side.
After circling around, they finally found a narrow path they could just barely get through. They only managed it because Xiahou's Progen T20 had been magically modified; otherwise, they couldn't have gotten in at all.
Upon reaching San Venganza village, Xiahou put the car back in his backpack. Johnny and Slade also stopped their motorcycle and walked over.
"You won! What do you need me to do for you?"
Xiahou thought for a moment. He didn't seem to need help with anything at the moment, so he said, "There's nothing I need your help with right now. I'll contact you if I need anything!"
Johnny readily agreed. "Sure. We'll talk when you need something!"
After looking around for a while, Mordred asked, "Where's that demon you mentioned? I can't wait to fight him!"
Xiahou also found it a little strange. Blackheart should have arrived long ago, so why hadn't he shown up yet?
He didn't dwell on it, though. He took out the extra food he had bought that morning, handed it around and said, "Since they aren't here, let's have dinner first! Mordred, here's your cola!"
After taking it, Mordred first had a big drink, then started eating her hamburger.
Johnny and Slade...
They grumbled inwardly, You really came prepared! And why don't we get cola? Playing favorites?
Xiahou: Of course. Who could resist feeding Mordred when she has the same face as our king? It's just a shame she didn't inherit the king's stomach. Maybe that's why our king doesn't acknowledge her! (Don't get the wrong idea. Xiahou is only raising Mordred as a younger sister. She's basically the second protagonist!)
After dinner, Mordred grew bored. She kept kicking the pebbles beside her and didn't forget to complain to Xiahou.
"So, have we been stood up? Is that demon you mentioned coming or not?"
Before Xiahou could answer, Blackheart's voice rang out.
"Looks like you arrived early. I thought I'd be the first one here."
Two figures slowly emerged from the edge of the swamp. They were Blackheart and Gressil.
When Xiahou saw the two demons, he said, "You're the ones who came too late! We've been waiting forever! I thought you were too scared to show up!"
Blackheart gave an evil smile. "How could that be? You brought me the contract I need!"
Mordred could barely wait any longer and cut straight in. "Why all this talking? Let's just fight! I'm first! Just wait for me to bring you victory, Xiahou."
With that, she equipped her armor and greatsword and charged at Blackheart and Gressil.
Xiahou smiled helplessly. Sure enough, Mordred was better suited to the Berserker Class. Even so, he called out, "Blackheart, if you beat Mordred, the contract is yours!"
Blackheart gave Gressil a look, signaling him to go first.
Gressil quickly formed a ball of water and threw it without hesitation at the charging Mordred.
Mordred watched the ball of water approach, but showed no intention of blocking it. Instead, she fearlessly charged straight at it, like a ferocious beast unafraid of her enemy's attack.
In the blink of an eye, Mordred slammed into the ball of water. It burst on impact, spraying water everywhere and forming a cloud of mist.
To everyone's surprise, however, Mordred came through the mist completely unharmed. Without slowing in the slightest, she shot straight toward Gressil like a speeding meteor.
Gressil clearly hadn't expected such a swift counterattack from Mordred. He was startled when she suddenly appeared in front of him. He hurriedly tried to turn into water to evade her attack, but it was too late.
Mordred gripped a greatsword imbued with powerful magic and swung it down at Gressil with tremendous force. The blade traced a dazzling arc through the air and struck him dead-on.
In an instant, the greatsword cleaved Gressil's body in two. The intense magic flooded over him like a torrent, tearing his body apart completely.
Gressil's hopes of reforming his body were also dashed by the impact of that powerful magic.
In the end, Gressil died this humiliating death. His body gradually dissipated under the ravages of the magic, turning into a puddle of water, as though he had never existed.
The four spectators each wore a different expression. Xiahou was perfectly calm, while Johnny and Slade were slightly surprised. Only Blackheart looked utterly grim. He had brought three underlings, and they had all died without accomplishing a thing?
Mordred looked at the puddle that had been Gressil, her face full of disdain. That's a demon? He's way too weak. He's not even as good as the puppets those mages summoned when I took part in the Third War!
She then attacked Blackheart. He was more than a little stronger than Gressil, though, and his physical attributes were already comparable to those of some third-rate Heroic Spirits.
He could block Mordred's attacks in various ways, and whenever he couldn't avoid one, he would suddenly vanish and reappear somewhere else.
"Is running away all you can do? Show me what you can do as a demon! Let me see how strong you are!"
Blackheart, on the other hand, was inwardly aggrieved. Where did this freak come from? The magic on that greatsword is no joke. It can actually hurt me! She's different from Ghost Rider, who can only exploit bugs with Hellfire and the Penance Stare!
