Background / History

Xilaier and his childhood friend Shen Que registered late at their military academy for unspecified reasons, leaving them behind other freshmen in Dark Night. The academy used ranked-match performance to identify promising students for early mech training and possible entry into its elite class. Xilaier was anxious to catch up, but initially struggled even to distinguish players from NPCs 25.

Shen Que proposed building a five-person team and clearing the bounty hunter storyline within three months. Trusting his friend’s judgment, Xilaier agreed to investigate Viscount Xiersen’s unusual son-in-law quest as a possible route to finding teammates 25.

Appearance

• Hair: Initially described as brown and curly or wavy; later game scenes describe him with blond hair 25 44 49.

Personality

Xilaier is outgoing, talkative, and quick to act familiar with strangers. Ajiasi’s silence does not discourage his attempts at conversation or recruitment. His exuberance also shows at meals: after the village battle, he recounts the fighting so enthusiastically that Shen Que has to quiet him with a look 35 36.

He reacts openly to danger, complaining about the game’s difficulty and worrying that defeat in the beginner village would embarrass him on the campus forum. Nevertheless, he continues fighting and protecting his teammates. His strongest anger is directed at bullying and betrayal: seeing Dolly mistreated, then pushed toward a swarm of beasts, drives him to intervene immediately 34 45 47.
