Lin Xiao prepared a trading center that grew into a city, while the Lingxian Sect expanded its cultivation and secured new allies. As New Year’s Eve approached, Lin Xiao began synthesizing the city and invited several sects to the annual gathering.
Liao Pantu regained his soul and reached Spirit Transformation as Lin Xiao established Xiushui City, then hosted a New Year gathering and auction that drew the Mortal Realm’s sects and clans into new trade ties. The arc ended with Li Zhouxuan joining the Lingxian Sect and Venerable Xunfang beginning negotiations for the Crimson Firmament Sect to trade and lease a shop.
Lin Xiao expanded the Lingxian Sect’s trade and drew the factions of the Mortal Realm into a plan to capture Myriad Connections’ informants. With thousands of spies imprisoned in Xiushui City and their access to Spiritual Qi cut off, the story left them facing a choice between laboring for the Lingxian Sect or remaining trapped.
Xiushui City grew into a hub for trade, cultivation, and public projects as the Lingxian Sect captured spies, introduced Spirit Beads, and began planning railways. Sun Yigao established an academy in Huanyou Nation, while Lin Xiao turned to affordable farming innovations to support the railway effort.
Lin Xiao toured the Immortal Cultivation Realm while his disciples trained in Yuanling City, then met Qingle, the tree demon sustaining Zhenyang City. Qingle left the city and reunited with the surviving Green Oaks, learning of his clan’s losses and agreeing to lead them.
Lin Xiao traveled through Chongxiao Domain while searching for a suitable base for the Lingxian Sect, but an early Cloud Burst trapped Cloud Gathering City in a deadly formation. After helping rescue its residents, he faced the Annihilation Immortal’s avatar and struggled to keep Jiang Qu alive.
After Cloud Burst tears Lin Xiao into Great Wind Valley, he discovers an isolated society that cultivates Origin Qi and contacts Liao Pantu while seeking a way out. His investigation of the valley’s history reveals it was founded to preserve humanity during the war with Execution Cultivators, and he begins examining its ancient cultivation methods.
