Early Life and Lu Yuan’s Household

Qing Lin suffered discrimination because of her mixed ancestry. Her mother abandoned her early, and she lived in Stone Desert City without reliable food, ranking among its most destitute beggars 3.

After losing his cultivation to poison, Lu Yuan asked his father, Lu Tong Xuan, to have Qing Lin purchased from the Desert Iron Mercenary Group and brought to Salt City. He concealed her in a courtyard inherited from his mother to prevent Mo Shuang’er from discovering and harming her. His regular visits gradually made Qing Lin comfortable with him despite her reluctance to interact with others 2.

When the Lu Clan sent Lu Yuan to Qingshan Town, Qing Lin accompanied him and Uncle Zhang. She pledged to serve as both his maid and protector, then reached Dou Zhe during their journey 3 4.

Awakening in the Magical Beast Mountain Range

Qing Lin worried that Lu Yuan and Xiao Yi Xian’s rapid cultivation would leave her unable to contribute. Lu Yuan brought her to Xiao Yi Xian’s secluded valley to awaken her latent talent, asking Zhang Qingqing to capture a Third-Order Earth-Splitting Rock Python 12.

With the python restrained by sunken wood, Qing Lin repeatedly faced its gaze and pressure. Her Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils awakened, allowing her to contract it. She subsequently accompanied Zhang Qingqing on hunts and expanded her control to five Third-Order snake-shaped Magical Beasts 13 14.

Lu Yuan then prioritized stronger individual beasts over numerous weaker contracts. With the group’s assistance, Qing Lin subdued a Fourth-Order Azure-Feathered Flame Snake, providing the party with combat strength capable of facing a Dou Ling expert. She later used it to restrain the Earth Nether Rock Turtle while Lu Yuan contracted that beast 16 17.

Heavenly Snake Mansion Abduction

While Lu Yuan was away, a Fourth-Order Magical Beast attacked the valley. Qing Lin deployed the Azure-Feathered Flame Snake against it, but Bai Ya—the Sixth-Order Eight-Winged Black Serpent Emperor—subsequently appeared, killed her contracted snake, and abducted her for the Heavenly Snake Mansion 27.

Lu Man offered Qing Lin the prospect of becoming the mansion’s saintess and obtaining strength beyond Dou Zong. Qing Lin refused to accept forced recruitment as a fair transaction and insisted that remaining with Lu Yuan mattered more. During captivity, she resolved to grow stronger, return to him, and eventually destroy the mansion 28 33.

Lu Yuan organized an ambush with Queen Medusa, Yun Yun, and Hai Bodong. They rescued Qing Lin and overpowered her captors. Lu Man was killed, while Bai Ya was sealed and handed to Qing Lin as a cultivation resource. She contracted him and drew his body into her pupil space before collapsing from the strain 34 35.

Return to Salt City

Qing Lin recovered under Yun Yun’s care at the Snake-People temple and later returned to Salt City with Lu Yuan’s group 36 40.

Lu Yuan gave her a deep-green jade bangle left by his mother for his future Dao companions and openly acknowledged Qing Lin, Xiao Yi Xian, and Yun Yun as his companions. Qing Lin accepted while remaining attached to her role as his personal maid. He instructed her to absorb Bai Ya’s power in preparation for further action by the Heavenly Snake Mansion 43.

Qing Lin is shy and easily embarrassed around others, but lively and affectionate with Lu Yuan. Her devotion centers on remaining beside him and repaying the security he gave her after years of deprivation and prejudice 2 3 43.

She measures her progress by how much she can help him. Watching Lu Yuan and Xiao Yi Xian advance rapidly makes her fear becoming unnecessary, while awakening her pupils reassures her that she can contribute. Even before that awakening, she focuses on improving her cooking and fulfilling her duties as a maid 12 14.

Her obedience to Lu Yuan contrasts with her resistance to coercion. She confronts the python despite her fear and challenges Lu Man’s claim that abduction is for her benefit. In captivity, her outward calm conceals intense anger toward the Heavenly Snake Mansion 13 28 33.
