Living for What You Love
Under the moon.
Guan Changling lay on the ground, his face turned towards the direction of the Maitreya Hall, his eyes lifeless, and blood gushing from his mouth.
Hai Donglai sat on the threshold of the Maitreya Hall, his lips purple and his breathing heavy.
The Blind Cheng sat down beside him, took off his wine gourd, and poured a stream of strong liquor onto the wound on his thigh.
"Hiss!!"
The Blind Cheng's face scrunched up in a grimace. "No wonder it's Jade Radiance Wine."
Good liquor that can be used to start a fire.
The feeling of pouring this liquid onto the wound was truly extraordinary.
Zheng Hui leaned against the doorframe, barely managing to lift his eyelids to look around, and suddenly said, "You're back."
Covered in blood, Chu Tianshu leaped over the high wall carrying a severed head, stumbling slightly as he landed.
The force of Arhat Stomp was so powerful that even with the Palm Thunder mixed in, his legs were still a little sore from the impact of the stomping.
"We chased him all the way to Emerald Rock Slope before finally catching him."
Chu Tianshu glanced at Guan Changling and laughed, "You guys are pretty quick."
Blind Cheng said, "I don't know what's wrong with this person. His initial attack didn't seem too fierce, but his stamina is astonishing."
"He was injured in several places, but he seemed fine. Then, in a sudden attack, he almost slit my throat, smashed my head, and broke my leg."
Hai Donglai slowly said, "I've long wanted to have a good fight with Guan Changling, but it wasn't convenient before. Tonight I finally got to see his style."
Guan Changling might not be able to achieve a quick victory against someone weaker than himself.
But even against someone slightly stronger than him, it's quite possible that he'll be the one who survives in the end.
"Luckily, you stabbed him in the back of the head."
Blind Cheng said, "You were lying to him about not being good with a sword."
Hai Donglai coughed and said, "I don't really practice swordsmanship much, but that move was imitated by the swordsmanship champion of Chang'an back then."
Chu Tianshu had already approached, stepped over the threshold, and placed Duan Zhong's head on the offering table.
He straightened several tilted memorial tablets, clasped his hands together, closed his eyes, and bowed.
Hai Donglai and the others also stood up and looked at this scene.
Chu Tianshu turned around and looked at the coffins outside.
"I mentioned this place at Emerald Rock Slope, still using the tone of someone from Ocean University."
"Some busybodies might come and check later. Who among you will stay here to handle it?"
Hai Donglai said calmly, "I feel like I'm dying. I need to go back and take my medicine."
Zheng Hui's lips twitched.
After spending time together, he finally understood.
If Hai Donglai were truly about to die, he probably wouldn't utter a single word about death.
"Of course, it should be handled by this old man."
Zheng Hui laughed and said, "This is no trouble for me, and besides, there must be a king among those who are interested."
"Once he arrives, I'll have my own explanation for him, and then I'll save myself the trouble."
Chu Tianshu took out a few needles and silently stuck them into the wound.
"Alright, we'll slip away Yimouxun here."
He rubbed his hands together again, and two silver needles were inserted into Hai Donglai and Zheng Hui.
Rising and falling, shimmering like silver needles.
He was multitasking, and the acupuncture points he was applying were all different.
Blind Cheng would save trouble; just shoot a needle at you for a little pain relief.
After Chu Tianshu finished his work and retrieved his Sanqi Divine Sword, his ears twitched slightly.
"Looks like it's time to go."
The three of them passed through the Maitreya Hall and then went to the Mahavira Hall.
Chu Tianshu leaped up and pulled the Phoenix Winged Golden Halberd off.
"You also have a hobby of collecting weapons?"
Hai Donglai looked at the stubbornly defiant evil weapon and thought, "It really is a good thing."
Chu Tianshu said, "I don't like collecting weapons; I just like blasting away evil spirits."
"This thing can't be killed in a short time. Let's take it back to the Zheng residence and grind it down slowly."
Chu Tianshu glanced back at the Maitreya Hall and heard Zheng Hui greeting Yimouxun.
The three of them quietly slipped away from behind, without encountering any obstacles along the way.
Night had not yet fallen, and most parts of the royal city were quiet.
Every household was fast asleep, with their doors closed.
Many people will talk about the duel Hai Donglai and Duan Zhong, but not many ordinary people will actually go to watch it.
It wasn't until daytime, when the swordsmen returned and spread the word, that the city would become abuzz with excitement.
Chu Tianshu carried the phoenix-winged gilded halberd and strolled along the empty, quiet street.
The exhilaration of the decisive battle did not fade; instead, it became even more comfortable after settling in.
"Coming in haste, leaving in haste, regretting not being able to meet; loving in haste, hating in haste, everything gone with the wind... A wild laugh..."
Chu Tianshu was humming a little tune when he suddenly heard Hai Donglai speak up beside him.
Now that things have come to this, the credit should still belong to you!
Chu Tianshu laughed and said, "It doesn't matter."
"Sometimes, I really crave fame and care about what I have in my hands."
"But sometimes, what I care about more is whether I can have one less thing in this world."
He glanced at it just now and found that after the Fortune Bar was full, he would indeed only have three days to stay in this world.
They're practically running away already, what's the point of keeping a title?
It was only his reputation in his hometown world that Chu Tianshu would value.
Blind Cheng took a swig of Jade Radiance Wine, deeply agreeing with what Chu Tianshu had just said.
"That's right, the world has one less evildoer, at least..."
He walked along, muttering to himself for a moment, a look that seemed to be both a smile and a sigh.
"At least, one less person committing wrongdoing will be eliminated."
Chu Tianshu couldn't help but chuckle upon hearing this, "What a literary line!"
"But today's battle was like uprooting a tree and incidentally snapping the roots of a whole bunch of poisonous weeds around it."
Chu Tianshu thought for a moment, "So, if you want to eliminate something, targeting this kind of person is very worthwhile."
"When you slash with your sword, you not only cut down living people, but also many invisible things."
The Blind Cheng chuckled, "It wasn't me who slashed at you with my blade, it was you who struck with your sword."
Even so, the slight, inexplicable sigh that had arisen in his mind earlier disappeared.
He will remember this night for the rest of his life.
Hai Donglai seems to still be stuck in his previous thinking.
"You don't care about fame, but you enjoy scattering evil spirits."
Hai Donglai, "Then come with me to Chang'an."
Chu Tianshu asked with some confusion, "Chang'an?"
"I like collecting evil weapons."
Hai Donglai said softly, "There's a room in my mansion filled with evil weapons, a total of fourteen."
"I often sit there, feeling surrounded by cold malice, wanting to devour me, to kill me, yet unable to touch me."
That makes me very happy.
Chu Tianshu's eyes lit up, and he said, "Fourteen evil weapons! Actually, I..."
He was about to explain that he didn't simply enjoy obliterating the souls of evil weapons.
Rather, it's because that would benefit one's spiritual practice.
Even if Hai Donglai, he originally only intended to send one or two items.
Chu Tianshu gave his reasons, including the idea of using evil weapons to offset the payment for treatment, so he should be able to get them all.
But before he could finish speaking, Hai Donglai said, "They're all yours."
Chu Tianshu was slightly surprised. "Just because I like destroying evil weapons, you're giving them all to me? Don't you think it's a waste?"
"Is there any other reason needed?"
Hai Donglai countered with a question.
"It's enough that I like it. Everything I've done in my life is because I like it."
"This time, if I want to repay you, it will be based on your preferences."
Looking at his matter-of-fact expression, Chu Tianshu couldn't help but chuckle and click her tongue after a long while.
"Hai Donglai, you're living too well, you should learn from that."
