Stopped by His Father
That night, the village lights, like scattered stars, adorned this silent land, as if the Milky Way in the night sky were reflected on earth.
However, beneath the tranquil night sky, an undercurrent was brewing, seemingly foreshadowing a turbulent night.
Kakashi lay silently in the shadows of the forest, his figure almost blending into the surrounding trees. Every breath he took was intertwined with the forest's atmosphere, making no sound whatsoever.
In this silence, time flowed slowly as Kakashi patiently observed the movements in the distance.
The chirping of insects in the forest and the occasional sounds of ninja patrols in the distance formed the only background music for the night.
Kakashi's ears keenly pick up every subtle sound around him, his brain constantly analyzes and assesses potential risks, and his body remains in a state of peak alertness, ready to deal with any unexpected situations that may arise.
The gate to the Root Base resembled a sleeping behemoth, its mouth slightly open, always seemingly drawing in curious or greedy gazes.
From the outside, it looks ordinary and unremarkable, with no eye-catching defensive facilities, just like an ordinary building, completely unguarded.
However, Kakashi's mind was as clear as a mirror; he knew that all of this was just a facade, a carefully orchestrated illusion by Root.
His sensory abilities were like an invisible net, covering the entire area around the base, allowing him to keenly detect even the faintest fluctuations of Chakra in the air.
Through these subtle fluctuations, he discovered figures hidden in the darkness, silently guarding this place like ghosts in the night.
Among these people were not only ordinary ninjas, but also many elite members of Root.
They are scattered everywhere, some perched high in the treetops, some hidden in the shadows of buildings, and some even lurking underground, like sleeping venomous snakes, poised to strike.
Their presence filled the entire base with an invisible pressure, like a large net waiting for its prey to walk right into it.
As the night deepened, Kakashi moved silently through the forest like a nimble cat.
In the silent stillness, Kakashi watched as Danzo slowly walked out of the massive archway of the Root's base. His steps were steady and composed, as if he were completely unaware of the lurking danger around him.
Kakashi's eyes froze into icy blades, radiating a chilling aura that seemed to freeze all his emotions within their cold gaze.
All day long, the resentment he had been suppressing in his heart was like a fuse ignited by a spark, instantly exploding into a raging inferno.
His gaze, cold as a knife, was fixed on Danzo's back, as if he wanted to pierce through him.
This might be his only chance!
If it weren't Danzo Danzo's treacherous schemes, how could Koki be lying on that cold hospital bed, still unconscious?
This deep-seated hatred, like a cunning snake, coiled in Kakashi's heart, constantly reminding him and preventing him from letting go.
Kakashi's face gradually turned violent, his eyes like those of a hawk eyeing its prey, closely tracking Danzo's every move.
His fist slowly clenched, his knuckles turning white from the excessive force, as if he wanted to concentrate all his anger and resentment into that clench.
A ruthless glint flashed in his exposed dark eyes, a kind of almost insane decisiveness, as if possessed by a demon, bloodthirsty and merciless.
He's going to kill Danzo... He's going to kill Danzo right now!
Kakashi's heart started racing, and his breathing became rapid.
He gripped the short sword behind him tightly; the hilt trembled slightly in his hand, as if sensing its master's will.
The sword slowly emerged from its sheath, its sharp blade gleaming coldly in the moonlight, just like the hatred and killing intent in Kakashi's heart, chilling to the bone.
His heart was filled with endless rage; hatred and murderous intent surged like a tidal wave, constantly crashing against the shores of his mind and urging him to take action. These emotions raged through his heart like a storm, making them irresistible.
Just as Kakashi was poised to burst out of his hiding place, suddenly! A hand reached out from behind him like a ghost and grabbed his arm tightly.
At that moment, Kakashi's heart jolted as if struck by a heavy hammer. His body immediately went into a state of high alert, focusing all his attention on dealing with this sudden crisis.
His heart raced, his breathing became rapid, and a tense atmosphere filled the air.
How could someone approach him so silently without him noticing?!
This was undoubtedly a heavy blow to Kakashi, who had always prided himself on his keen senses, but now it seemed that he still had a lot to learn.
Kakashi was prepared for the worst. He turned around swiftly, summoning Kunai from the fingertips of his right hand, his eyes fixed on his opponent, ready to launch an attack at any moment.
However, the moment he looked up and his eyes met the other person's, his pupils involuntarily contracted, his shock evident in his expression.
As night fell and the stars became sparse, the newcomer, draped in a large black trench coat, appeared like a shadowy figure in the darkness. The coat swayed gently in the wind, creating a flowing silhouette that seemed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding darkness.
He didn't speak, but conveyed a silent command to Kakashi with simple yet powerful gestures: Follow me.
Kakashi's gaze lingered on the newcomer for a moment. He nodded silently, and the two figures, under the cover of night, quietly left the forest and eventually arrived at a secluded and quiet corner.
In this deep stillness, only the whisper of the wind and the murmur of the leaves intertwine to form a silent melody, and the figure that entered this place finally slowed down its pace and turned around slowly.
The newcomer was completely wrapped in a layer of black cloth, leaving not a single gap, making it impossible to see his true appearance. Even his aura seemed to be deliberately suppressed, becoming faint and elusive, like a mysterious and unpredictable mist, making him difficult to fathom.
However, these elaborate disguises had no effect on Kakashi whatsoever.
Even though the other person's concealment was so perfect and flawless, deep in Kakashi's eyes, every move of that person revealed an indescribable sense of familiarity.
Kakashi's gaze was like a sharp sword, easily piercing through the surface disguise and reaching the most authentic part of that person's heart.
Without any evidence or hints, relying solely on his innate intuition and the memories of his father deeply imprinted in his heart, Kakashi had already discerned the true identity of the person before him.
At that moment, Kakashi's voice trembled slightly as he softly uttered the term he hadn't used in a long time. "Dad..."
Upon hearing this, Hatake Sakumo's body trembled slightly.
Standing there, silent for a few seconds, Sakumo slowly raised his hand, and with a barely audible sigh, began to unbutton the black trench coat that tightly wrapped around his body.
As the trench coat slowly slipped off his shoulders, revealing his snow-white long hair, the silver hair danced lightly in the breeze against the backdrop of the night, as if dyed with frost, shimmering and shining, like a handful of moonlight sprinkled from the clouds.
"Kakashi." As Sakumo's figure became fully visible in the moonlight, his voice gently glided through the silence of the night.
