Yakushi Nonō
On this picturesque evening, the sunset on the horizon seemed to weave a magnificent and colorful picture, dyeing the whole world in a warm orange-red hue.
Bathed in the afterglow of the setting sun, Koki, Shisui, and Itachi walked home, their laughter echoing all the way, their mood exceptionally light and cheerful.
Koki enthusiastically recounted the interesting stories that happened at school, while Shisui and Itachi smiled and nodded from time to time, occasionally interjecting with a few witty remarks, making the atmosphere even more cheerful and harmonious.
However, just as they were about to enter their territory, a mysterious figure suddenly appeared before them, as silent as a ghost.
Koki subconsciously raised her head, her gaze falling on the figure. She saw a tall, graceful woman standing in front of them.
The woman was dressed in a snow-white robe, and even her headscarf was spotless white, blending seamlessly into her surroundings.
Her golden hair, like a beam of shining sunlight, cascaded down her shoulders, shimmering captivatingly in the glow of the sunset.
She wore round glasses, and behind the lenses, her eyes narrowed into slits, like two crescent moons, revealing an endless gentle smile as her gaze fell on the three children in front of her.
"Nonō!" Koki's surprised voice broke the brief silence, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
It turned out that the gentle and beautiful woman in front of them was none other than Yakushi Nonō, the director of the Konoha Orphanage.
"Hello, Koki, Shisui, Itachi," Nonō said with a smile, her tone as gentle as a spring breeze.
Upon hearing her greeting, Shisui and Itachi quickly returned the greeting, saying, "Hello, sister."
"Nonō, what brings you here? Did something happen at the orphanage? Do you need our help?" Koki asked, a hint of worry rising in her heart.
His thoughts began to race, and various unpleasant possibilities involuntarily surfaced in his mind. Had the orphanage encountered some danger? Or was there some emergency that needed to be dealt with?
For the past three years, Koki has consistently and continuously donated substantial funds to support orphanages.
He often visited orphanages, playing and frolicking with the children, telling them fascinating stories, and even teaching Ninjutsu.
To create a small haven for children who have lost the warmth of family.
It was because of this that he gradually became familiar with Yakushi Nonō and developed a great deal of mutual trust.
Because of his own mission, Koki specifically asked Nonō to keep an eye out for Kabuto Yakushi.
Nonō seemed to sense Koki's unease, gently shook her head, and smiled tenderly to comfort her, "Don't worry, Koki, everything is fine at the orphanage."
She gazed at the young man before her, a myriad of emotions welling up within her.
In fact, three years ago, Nonō was ostensibly the director of the Konoha Orphanage, a guardian who provided a sanctuary for those helpless children.
However, she also has another mysterious identity that is unknown to others—an outstanding ninja who once belonged to Danzo's Root organization, and also one of the core members of the intelligence department.
Three years ago, Danzo to cut off funding to the orphanage, forcing Yakushi Nonō to continue serving Root and sending her to another country as a spy.
It was an incredibly long night. Yakushi Nonō stood in the courtyard of the orphanage, quietly watching the children who had lost their parents because of the war. Their eyes revealed endless helplessness and confusion.
Every innocent face seemed to tell a story of the injustice of fate, and every pair of clear eyes was filled with fear and unease about the future.
She knew perfectly well that once Danzo stopped funding the orphanage, these poor children would face an even more difficult life, and even basic food and clothing would become a luxury.
However, fate is always dramatic, and the turning point came so suddenly.
Overnight, Danzo passed away, and Root was disbanded. This sudden change made Yakushi Nonō feel relieved, and the shadow that had been hanging over her heart for many years finally dissipated.
From that time on, Yakushi Nonō devoted herself wholeheartedly to the management of the orphanage, no longer subject to any constraints or restrictions.
She hopes that through her efforts, these children who have suffered misfortune can once again feel the warmth of home and the power of love.
Friction continues among the Five Great Nations, and the shadow of war looms over the entire Shinobi World.
Every day, new orphans are born, and their numbers continue to increase, putting enormous pressure on orphanages.
Just when Nonō was worrying day and night about her financial difficulties, Koki appeared before her like a ray of bright sunshine.
It was a sunny day when Koki approached her with a gentle smile. He promised to donate several million taels of silver to the orphanage every year, which was undoubtedly a huge sum of money that could help the orphanage overcome its difficulties.
What warmed Nonō's heart even more was that Koki would visit the children every month with a large number of gifts, which brought them endless surprises and joy.
Koki would even arrange for children from orphanages to help out at his family's shop, so they could experience the value of their own existence.
Nowadays, the children's affection for Koki has surpassed that for Nonō, their "mother."
Whenever she sees the children cheering and laughing around Koki, Nonō feels very gratified.
Thinking of this, Nonō gazed at Koki, a gentler smile spreading across her face.
Nonō spoke softly, "Koki, it's nothing particularly important, but the children miss you terribly. I was wondering if you have time to visit them?"
Upon hearing this, Koki agreed without hesitation, "No problem."
Shisui to the side, seemed somewhat hesitant. He was worried that if they went back too late, Mikoto might be concerned.
Nonō keenly sensed Shisui's hesitation and gently reassured her, "Don't worry, it won't take up too much time."
Shisui nodded slightly in agreement after hearing Nonō's words.
Just as he nodded, a jet-black crow suddenly flew out from beside him, rushing towards home like a bolt of lightning. The crow drew a black arc in the air and disappeared into the distant horizon in the blink of an eye.
Immediately afterwards, the four figures vanished from their spot like phantoms, speeding towards the orphanage at an astonishing pace.
The group arrived at the orphanage's entrance. Looking up at the newly renovated sign, Koki couldn't help but mutter to herself, "It's getting better and better!"
Nonō smiled and said to Koki, "This is all thanks to you."
Without Koki's help, this orphanage might have gone out of business long ago.
Koki smiled and shook her head, then walked into the orphanage, softly calling everyone's names as Koki went.
Strangely, the courtyard was completely empty. In the past, whenever he came, the children would cheer and surround him, chattering excitedly and filling the courtyard with laughter.
"This is..." Koki looked at Nonō strangely, her eyes full of doubt. Why was it so quiet today? Had something special happened?
Nonō gently shook her head, gesturing for Koki to go inside and take a look.
Koki quickly walked into the house.
The curtains were drawn, plunging the room into complete darkness. Just as Koki was feeling utterly confused, a group of children Earth Flow carried out a large cake, their footsteps light, as if afraid of damaging it.
Koki stared at all of this in disbelief, her eyes sparkling with surprise.
