Hot-Blooded Fool!
Every day, Might Guy underwent extensive training with his father, and today was no different.
Once, Might Guy had struggled even to gain admission to the Ninja Academy and had lost heart. His father, Might Duy, encouraged him, saying that failure was inevitable in life, but the key was to persevere, and one day he would succeed.
And so he trained hard day after day, until he was finally given a chance to enroll as a special exception.
Once, on his way home from school, Might Guy encountered people maliciously slandering his father. Indignant, he went to confront them, only to be beaten up.
Fortunately, Kakashi appeared in time and rescued him. Might Duy demanded to know why he had been so impulsive, and Guy asked his father in turn how he could always remain optimistic, and when youth would finally end.
Might Duy told him that youth would never end! True victory was not merely about conquering the strong, but about protecting what one held most precious.
And so Might Guy pressed forward, working hard to study Ninjutsu and train his body. He finally graduated from the Ninja Academy and became a ninja capable of standing on his own.
Once, Might Duy bragged to Might Guy that the Third Lord Hokage had praised him as a "cat-finding expert." Might Guy questioned whether this was the youth he was always talking about.
Might Guy felt utterly ashamed.
But Kakashi said that he thought Might Duy was Konoha's strongest ninja.
Father and son embraced and wept, each coming to understand the other.
Day after day, Might Guy persisted with his grueling special training. Many people gathered to watch, and rumors and gossip followed him everywhere. Their words were like sharp swords, piercing Might Guy's heart.
But he did not give up. Instead, his conviction grew even stronger.
"Don't pay them any mind, Might Guy," Might Duy murmured, comforting his son. "Your hard work will surely pay off."
Might Guy nodded, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and steadied his breathing. He knew the mockery was only temporary, and that only through hard work and perseverance could he prove his worth.
He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and resumed his practice.
His movements became more practiced and fluid, as though they had become part of his body and soul. Every attempt brought him one step closer to success.
Just as Might Guy was concentrating on his training, a young voice reached his ears. "Keep going! You can do it!"
Might Guy wondered, Is someone making fun of me again? Even a little kid has come to mock me? Never mind. I'm used to all this, and I won't be hurt by it. I'll just keep training.
Wait, no? That voice... was he encouraging me?
I must have misheard, right?
He came down from his handstand and looked to the side. A cute little boy in blue stood not far away, holding his even younger brother's hand. He blinked his big eyes as he watched Guy, an innocent smile on his face and a determined, encouraging light in his eyes.
Ever since he started school, Might Guy had been surrounded by mockery and ridicule. Even when he trained, he was subjected to sneers and gossip, and the words he heard were always the most malicious. Hearing someone encourage him for the first time, he was completely stunned.
Seeing Might Guy staring blankly, Koki thought he hadn't heard him clearly and repeated himself loudly. "I believe you can do it!"
Itachi, who was close beside his older brother, found it amusing and chimed in, "You can do it~"
This even made Might Duy stop in his tracks.
Father and son, both dressed in green bodysuits with orange scarves around their necks, turned to look at Koki and remained silent for a long time.
Huh? Did I say something wrong? Koki was utterly bewildered.
"Thank you!" Hearing the boy's words of encouragement, Might Guy felt a warm current rise in his heart. He remembered the hardships and setbacks he had endured and the people who had mocked and doubted him. But now, this boy had given him encouragement and support, leaving him deeply moved and inspired.
His eyes glistened, tears gathering in their corners. He clenched his teeth, struggling to control his emotions and keep the tears from falling, but in the end, he couldn't hold them back.
"Don't cry!" Koki looked at Might Guy, with his comical bowl cut and tears streaming down like noodles, and couldn't help feeling at a loss.
Why is he crying? Koki wondered. Still, it was the first time he had seen anyone cry like that, and it was hilarious.
Koki wanted to laugh but couldn't, and holding it in nearly gave him internal injuries.
"This is youth!" Might Duy patted his son on the shoulder to comfort him while giving Koki a thumbs-up.
"Long live youth!" Koki looked at Might Duy and raised his own thumb in return.
As a Genin of Konohagakure, Might Duy was mainly responsible for doing manual labor for employers and finding missing cats.
Though he was a Genin, he was a tough man who, with his hot-blooded spirit, kept singing the praises of "youth." He spent twenty years mastering the Eight Gates and passed the technique on to his son, Might Guy.
During the Third Shinobi World War, the first group of Kirigakure's Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist-Juzo Biwa, Suikazan Fuguki, Munashi Jinpachi, Jinin Akebino, Kushimaru Kuriarare, and Raiga Kurosuki-surrounded the young Might Guy, Genma Shiranui, and Ebisu.
At the critical moment, Might Duy arrived and vowed to protect the three with his life. He activated the Eight Gates Released Formation-the Gate of Death-and fought the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, allowing Guy and the other two to escape.
After a fierce battle, Might Duy died a heroic death at just thirty-five. The Seven Swordsmen also suffered heavy casualties: only Juzo Biwa, Suikazan Fuguki, and Raiga Kurosuki survived, while the other four were killed.
From then on, the famous Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist became the "three lucky treasures."
Later, Juzo Biwa, who had joined the Akatsuki, asked Uchiha Itachi about Might Duy's deeds, clearly traumatized by the beating he had received.
What he hoped to pass on to his son through "youth" was a ninja's way of survival.
True victory was not about "defeating the strong," but about "protecting what matters to you until death."
To protect the younger generation of ninja, he bravely stepped forward and faced Juzo Biwa and the other six members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist alone. He used his life to demonstrate a way of survival and showed the younger generation of ninja what it meant to protect with unwavering resolve. By leading through example, Might Duy passed the way of the ninja on to a new generation.
Guy finally calmed down. Looking at the boy before him, he raised a thumb, flashed his white teeth in a cheerful smile, and repeated Koki's words: "Long live youth!"
What a hot-blooded fool!
