People's joys and sorrows are not the same
"Alright, let's go back."
Suddenly, a cool breeze blew by, ruffling the stray hairs on Koki's forehead, reminding him of the passage of time.
Although the heat of Natsuhi lingers, the arrival of dusk always brings a touch of coolness.
Seeing her younger brother dressed in thin clothes similar to her own, Koki couldn't help but worry, afraid that he would catch a cold.
"Hmm~" Itachi refused softly in a coquettish tone, quietly leaning against Koki's side.
The small body was curled up, as if seeking the protection of her older brother.
Koki looked at Itachi with a hint of helplessness and softly advised, "The wind is picking up; it's time to go back."
"But I don't feel cold," Itachi replied with a cute smile.
He wasn't lying. With his brother, Itachi didn't feel cold at all; he felt warmth, as if the whole world no longer mattered.
He didn't want to leave because if he went back, his brother would urge him to rest, and right now, he just wanted to spend more time with his brother.
Even just sitting quietly like this is enough to make him feel happy.
Koki sighed softly, feeling both helpless and doting.
He knew Itachi's personality; once he made up his mind, it was very difficult to change it.
Moreover, he understood that his younger brother wasn't truly immune to the cold; he simply didn't want to disrupt this precious moment of peace.
"Alright, since you're not cold, let's sit a little longer," Koki said, conceding.
"Good!" Itachi squinted his eyes in satisfaction. For a moment, only the gentle breeze and the rustling of the trees echoed in the air.
After promising Itachi a story, Koki finally got her wish and carried him into the house.
As she carried Itachi back to the bedroom, passing through the living room, Koki made a point of checking if the lights were still on.
After confirming that the living room was empty, he stood there stunned, a complex mix of emotions welling up inside him.
I wonder how Shisui is doing?
Your face is so pale, are you feeling unwell?
He's acting so strange today...
"Brother! Let's go." Under the soft light, Itachi stared intently at Koki, who was lost in thought, feeling increasingly irritated, and clenched his small fists.
"Oh, okay, okay." Itachi's voice rang out softly, pulling Koki, back to reality.
Koki then realized that she had been standing in front of the living room in a daze for a long time. As if waking up from a dream, Koki quickly left.
Although the night breeze still carried a hint of coolness, the room was filled with stifling heat.
The temperature of the summer night was like a warm embrace; the coolness outside could not penetrate the heat inside. After taking a shower, Koki was drenched in sweat, her entire body soaked through.
He sat on the edge of the bed, sweat streaming down his face, his clothes already soaked through.
He turned on the fan, trying to dispel the suffocating heat; however, the fan's gentle breeze seemed unable to dispel the intense heat, and he still felt unbearably stuffy.
Itachi has already been out in the wind today, and he's quite frail, Koki doesn't dare risk turning on the air conditioning and letting him catch a chill; it wouldn't be good if he got sick.
"Itachi, just bear with it, we won't turn on the air conditioning today."
Seeing his younger brother lying in bed, looking so uncomfortable, Koki felt a pang of heartache. He picked up Gunbai and gently fanned Itachi, trying to bring him a little coolness.
His movements were delicate and gentle, each swing aimed to let the wind lightly brush against Itachi's face and chest.
"Mmm." Itachi nodded obediently, hugging the pillow with Koki's image on it.
As Koki fanned him, Itachi's face gradually calmed down, and his breathing became much smoother.
He closed his eyes, peacefully enjoying his brother's care, as if he could feel a cool breeze blowing from all directions.
"Brother, tell me a story." Itachi stopped lying down and started kneeling on the bed.
Itachi squinted contentedly, buried his head in Koki's shoulder, and slowly breathed in her Koki.
This feeling is as addictive as a kitten inhaling catnip.
Recalling his dream from his past life, Itachi snorted coldly. Friends? Partners? Family? Village? What are those things? Perhaps all of them are important.
But compared to his brother, these things were insignificant. If he had to choose, he would rather choose his brother; nothing else mattered.
He wanted to grow up with his older brother.
The happiness I feel right now is incredibly precious.
"Haha, okay, let's tell a story."
Koki felt the yak's fluffy hair brush against his neck, the sensation tickling all the way up to his heart, and he couldn't help but chuckle twice.
Why does it seem like my younger brother is becoming more and more dependent on me? Is it just my imagination? Is this a good thing?
While silently contemplating the situation, Koki hugged her younger brother with one arm, and continued fanning Itachi with the other.
Oh well, being dependent isn't a big deal, I can handle everything myself anyway.
"Brother?" Itachi looked up, puzzled, as if he hadn't heard Koki's voice for a long time.
"Itachi, I'm thinking about what story to tell," Koki replied gently.
The younger brother's hair had grown a bit longer. His gaze fell on Itachi's long hair, and unconsciously, he gently tucked the hair beside Itachi's ear behind his ear.
Itachi's face has similar features to Koki's, but not exactly the same, possessing a unique kind of handsomeness.
Looking at him, Koki couldn't help but give him an incredibly warm smile.
"Brother..." Itachi was so Koki by Koki's smile that he couldn't even blink.
"Hahaha." Seeing Itachi's dazed look, Koki was in a great mood. "Alright, I've decided what story to tell you. How about I tell you the story of Snow White today?"
This was a story that Koki had racked his brains to come up with, one of the few he remembered from the fairy tales in his previous life.
"Okay," Itachi replied, he would like whatever story his brother told.
Koki began his narration, his language elegant and vivid, like a clear spring, transporting Itachi to a distant fairytale world. "Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there lived a beautiful princess..."
As Koki narrated, the atmosphere in the room grew increasingly warm, the hum of the fan blending with Koki's voice to create a beautiful melody.
Snow White very beautiful, but her stepmother was an evil witch. Jealous of Snow White's beauty, she ordered a hunter to take her into the forest and kill her.
