Which of Us Three Is the Most Beautiful?

Beneath the Divine Laurel Tree, three graceful figures were dancing with light, fluttering steps.

They were none other than Lady Nüwa and the sisters Xihe and Changxi.

The moonlight was enchanting, its pure white glow spilling across the earth and setting them off like spirits of dance, their movements light and graceful as they wove through light and shadow.

A pale wrist traced a flower in the air, then swiftly vanished from sight again. Slender jade fingers flickered in and out beneath their sleeves, making one's heart itch.

Their slender waists seemed as supple as if they had no bones, entwining with the dappled shadows of the tree. Tiny stars seemed to glitter in their beautiful eyes; looking into them was like gazing upon a vast and beautiful starry sky.

And Lin Yunji was the sole spectator of this peerless dance.

What an honor, and what luck!

Only after an unknown length of time did the three women stop dancing.

"Well? Come back to your senses!"

Lin Yunji came to with a start and saw Lady Nüwa smiling as she teased him. She beckoned to him. "Little Jade Bamboo, stop daydreaming and come over here!"

Lin Yunji gave a light cough. At a time like this, he could not afford to stall.

He was close to Lady Nüwa, so choosing her would be perfectly reasonable.

And although Xihe and Changxi were no less beautiful than Nüwa, he and Nüwa were guests here and were already imposing on them. How could he behave like that?
