Lin Yunji and the other Venerables settled in the village, used the old patriarch’s daily quests to build up their base, and rapidly advanced to the Universe Level, Second Stage. With Canglan Points earned through trade, Lin Yunji bought more than twenty Illusory Realm Spirit Pearls so they could bring more Supremes into the Vast Blue Illusory Realm.
Lin Yunji left the Vast Blue Illusory Realm with Ice-Cold Supreme Venerable, who decided to seek her home universe’s inheritance and enter seclusion. After learning that Gu Yi had an urgent message, Lin Yunji contacted him and heard that a wanderer had found something inside the Dark Vortex where the Qingling Universe had been swallowed.
Gu Yi told Lin Yunji that the Azure Spirit Universe might have survived the fifth Universe Final Tribulation and be slowly recovering into an unmastered eternal universe, drawing powerful civilizations toward its remnant shell. After their call, Lin Yunji privately reflected on Ice Blockage, a survivor whose connection to the Azure Spirit Universe he had kept secret.
Lin Yunji told Ice-Cold Supreme Venerable that the Azure Spirit Universe had survived as an Eternal Universe, and she resolved to reclaim it. Though Lin Yunji agreed to help, they recognized that she first needed to absorb the power sealed within her true body.
Ice-Cold Supreme Venerable asked Lin Yunji to help her inherit a powerful figure’s sealed memories without losing herself, and he agreed to combine their wills despite the danger. As the memories flooded them, Lin Yunji shielded her from their overwhelming force, but the chapter ended before they had finished absorbing them.
Lin Yunji and Ice-Cold Supreme Venerable used the system to analyze and inherit Ice-Cold Absolute Emperor’s memories, leaving her at Universe Level Six but with weaker combat strength. They set out in the Universe Star Shuttle for the Qingling Universe, where she hoped to reclaim control and secure the Universe Alliance’s protection.
Lin Yunji and Ice-Cold Supreme Venerable searched the void for the hidden Qingling Universe for over a hundred million years. When they sensed Ancient Saint-level combat nearby, Ice-Cold Supreme Venerable detected that the Qingling Universe had been invaded, and they contacted the Universe Alliance for protection.
Ice-Cold Supreme Venerable secured the Canglan Universe Alliance’s promise to protect the Qingling Universe, but powerful experts pulled the universe’s remnant from the dark vortex and began auctioning it. As the bids rose, Ice-Cold Supreme Venerable worried that the Qingling Universe would soon be taken away.
Lin Yunji and the others waited as powerful experts bid for the Qingling Universe, until Holy Lord Tianyi arrived and revealed that Empress Binghan was alive. He restored the universe to its former location and left it under his protection.
Lin Yunji declined Ice-Cold Supreme Venerable’s offer to settle in the restored Qingling Universe, choosing to return to his home in the Primordial Expanse Universe. He returned safely and asked Nüwa about Saint Venerable Daweide and the others, then she asked why Ice Blockage had not come back with him.
Lin Yunji returned to Primordial Expanse Town in the Vast Blue Illusory Realm and learned that Saint Venerable Daweide and the others planned to kill the lake monster. The chapter ended with Divine Venerable Xuanjian explaining that the monster was too large to escape the lake, though its many heads could attack from the water.
Lin Yunji learned that Divine Venerable Xuanjian and the others had found a way to trap and starve the monster in the pond, and he joined their plan to lure it out and kill it. He also heard about the dangers beyond Primordial Expanse Town and received the blood-absorbing spear Bloodthirst, leaving the group ready to continue exploring.
Lin Yunji and Saint Venerable Daweide lured the wounded pond monster out with wild dog blood and offal, then attacked it with arrows. The monster remained trapped in the rocky fissure and fought back by spraying muddy water as the group took cover.
Saint Venerable Daweide explained that the pond monster was made of mud and had weakened from its injuries and hunger. Lin Yunji rejected the others’ plan to use themselves as bait and went to face the monster alone, which suddenly lunged at him from the pond.
Lin Yunji killed a many-headed monster in the Vast Blue Illusory Realm and obtained a Red Jade Grade divine artifact, the Wandering Sword. He gave the artifact to the venerables, while Saint Venerable Daweide kept the Glazed Stone Bead that could improve energy efficiency.
Immortal Venerable Hongluo claimed the divine artifact, and Lin Yunji and the other venerables discussed how to find stronger creatures to hunt. Lin Yunji decided to scout the swamp’s zombies first, then travel south if they proved too dangerous.
Lin Yunji and the other venerables entered a lifeless swamp and found a motionless zombie that resisted an arrow. Lin Yunji pierced it repeatedly with the Formation-Breaking Vajra Spear, but it rose again, leaving the group facing an enemy that seemed impossible to kill.
Lin Yunji killed a formidable zombie by tearing apart the black Qi connecting its head and body, then led the venerables deeper into the swamp. After the group killed around forty zombies, Saint Venerable Daweide broke through to Universe Level, Third Stage, though he felt uneasy at how quickly it had happened.
Lin Yunji and the others killed 231 zombies in the swamp, but Lin Yunji realized something unseen might be watching them and could only move at night. They returned to Primordial Expanse Town to ask the old clan leader for advice, but learned he knew little about his grandfather’s expedition, leaving them to find another way to prepare.
Lin Yunji equipped his group with items to fight Specters and led them back into the swamp to wait for the night’s threat. When a bell warned of a nearby Specter, they lit the swamp and spotted a figure whose presence resembled the source of the plague.
