Jiang He helped Atticus recover his memories, defeated the Shadow Riders and Kagemaru, and obtained the Sacred Beasts. After Slifer Red faced the threat of closure, Jiang He accepted Bonaparte’s challenge and set a twenty-million wager for the coming duels.

• Jiang He used a string of punishing duels to restore fragments of Atticus’s memories and explained that Atticus would need to wager his memories against a Shadow Rider to recover them fully.
• Jiang He defeated Titan in a Shadow Duel with his Barrier Timelord Deck, and Atticus recovered his sealed memories.
• Camula tried to steal Jiang He’s Spirit Key for Professor Banner, but Jiang He discovered her motive and warned that Banner had deceived her about reviving her clan.
• Jiang He and the others found Professor Banner dueling Chazz, and Banner defeated Chazz before releasing him and Atticus in exchange for Jiang He’s Spirit Key.
• Jaden defeated Banner in a Shadow Duel, breaking the seal on the Sacred Beasts, and Kagemaru arrived to challenge Jiang He for them.
• Jiang He used Relinquished and his other cards to withstand Kagemaru’s Sacred Beasts, but Kagemaru collapsed before the duel concluded, leaving Jiang He with the Sacred Beast cards and Kagemaru bound in a Dark Item ring.
• Jiang He accepted Kagemaru’s offer to use his wealth, while Alexis chose to remain with Jiang He and Bonaparte announced a plan to abolish Slifer Red.
• Jiang He accepted Bonaparte’s proposal to duel Ayano with Slifer Red’s future at stake and added a twenty-million wager.

Jiang He defeated Ayano, welcomed new students Rei Saotome and Tyranno Hassleberry, and faced professional duelist Aster Phoenix. After winning their first duel and earning Aster’s attention, Jiang He began a second match against Aster using his new underworld HERO deck.

• Jiang He won his wagered duel against Ayano by banishing Ayano’s remaining deck with Necroface, then forced Vice Chancellor Bonaparte to sign an IOU for the funding wager.
• Jiang He helped Professor Banner create a body in the Duel Monsters Spirit Otherworld, then met new student Rei Saotome, who declared her admiration for him and challenged Alexis Rhodes over him.
• Alexis defeated Rei in a duel, while Jiang He later obtained the Reversal Quiz and Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys decks from the system shop.
• Jiang He defeated Tyranno Hassleberry in a duel at the bridge, and Hassleberry decided to join Slifer Red and become Jiang He’s little brother.
• Aster Phoenix challenged Jiang He, who defeated him with Chicken Race, Reversal Quiz, and Black Pendant, then used other decks to duel him further.
• Jiang He acquired the Dragon Foot Mark and the Evil-Minded Dark HERO Deck, while Aster told Sartorius that Jiang He might be connected to his father’s murder and the theft of the ultimate Destiny HERO card.
• Aster and Jiang He began a second duel, and Aster summoned Destiny HERO - Dreadmaster before Jiang He negated its effects and helped Stratos destroy it.
• Aster destroyed Royal Decree to remove its trap lockdown, then Jiang He activated Card of Sanctity and summoned Vision HERO Vyon in defense position.

Jiang He defeated Aster Phoenix and Chazz Princeton, then worked to resist Sartorius’s growing Society of Light and help restore its victims. When professional duelist X challenged him, Jiang He began a Final Countdown duel that left X struggling to complete his deck-milling strategy.

• Jiang He defeated Aster Phoenix by banishing Destiny HERO - Dogma with Bottomless Trap Hole, then turned his attention to Sartorius and his plans for Jaden Yuki.
• Sartorius’s influence spread through Duel Academy as Chazz Princeton and the Obelisk Blue students became white-clad followers, so Jiang He defeated Chazz and helped arrange Shadow Duels to restore them.
• Drest X mistook Jaden Yuki for Jiang He and defeated Jaden in a duel that apparently sealed his ability to see Duel Monster spirits.
• Chancellor Sheppard announced the GX World Duel Tournament, and Jiang He prepared for Sartorius’s agents while his friends tried to protect one another.
• X challenged Jiang He and wagered the money in his briefcase, while Jiang He activated Final Countdown to set a twenty-turn limit for the duel.
• Jiang He repeatedly stole X’s Trap Jammer and used Scrap-Iron Scarecrow and Torrential Tribute to disrupt X’s plan to mill his deck.
• Jiang He avoided summoning monsters to frustrate Victory Dispute, leaving X unable to finish his combo as the countdown continued and fifteen cards remained in X’s deck.

Jiang He won tournament duels against X and Franz, then used his Nightmare Labyrinth deck to free Bonaparte from the Light of Destruction. As the tournament continued, Jaden faced Tachibana Ikkaku and Sartorius moved against the other duelists, leaving Jiang He and his allies at the docks amid a pile of unconscious Society of Light students.

• Jiang He defeated X by emptying Jiang He's deck, but X conceded after Jiang He restored it with Localized Tornado and the duel could not finish before Final Countdown.
• Jiang He defeated Franz in a Shadow Duel with Earthbound Immortal Aslla Piscu, recovered The Winged Dragon of Ra for Pegasus, and earned another silver medal.
• Alexis Rhodes defeated Kabukid, while Aster Phoenix told Jiang He about Sartorius and Jiang He advised him to gain power that could force Sartorius into a duel.
• Jiang He challenged Vice Chancellor Bonaparte for Slifer Red's survival and used Dream Clowns, Stealth Birds, and Labyrinth of Nightmare to defeat him and clear the Light of Destruction from him.
• Jaden Yuki dueled Tachibana Ikkaku, survived his one-shot attacks, and summoned Elemental HERO Grand Neos before Ikkaku tried to finish him with another Iaido Draw.
• Jiang He learned that Prince Ojin would arrive with Satellite SOLA's controls and bought three decks from his system shop after Aster warned him of Sartorius's plan.
• Jiang He went to the docks with Alexis Rhodes and Rei Saotome, where Gravekeeper Assailant Ishizu knocked out more than a dozen Society of Light students who tried to stop them.
