The Red Spirit Fruit
Su Ye withdrew his spiritual sense and felt a connection with the tiger and the eagle. He could already sense their emotions to some extent.
The eagle and the tiger had evidently sensed Su Ye's presence as well, and they immediately radiated goodwill toward him.
They had no choice but to bow their heads. Hadn't they just nearly kicked the bucket?
After sensing their goodwill, Su Ye smiled faintly, took two bowls of spiritual energy water from the Immortal Spirit Space, and set them in front of the two.
The tiger and the eagle sensed the dense spiritual energy in the water and both widened their eyes. They then drank it all in one gulp and looked at Su Ye with longing, clearly wanting another bowl.
Only after Su Ye had given them five or six bowls of spiritual energy water did the two close their eyes in satisfaction and begin digesting the spiritual energy in it.
Judging roughly by the strength of their seas of consciousness, Su Ye determined that the white tiger and the black eagle were both around the Qi Refining Third Layer.
"From now on, I'll call you Little White and Little Black," Su Ye said to the white tiger and the black eagle.
After quite a while, the white tiger and the black eagle opened their eyes one after the other. Judging by the excitement in their eyes, the few bowls of water had evidently helped them.
The white tiger, having recovered its spiritual power, rolled over, got to its feet, and ran into its den. It soon ran back to Su Ye and gestured for him to open his hand.
Su Ye held out his palm, and the tiger spat a crimson fruit from its mouth.
The fruit was crimson all over and gave off waves of spiritual energy from time to time. Su Ye used the Qi Observation Technique and couldn't help marveling at the dense spiritual energy he saw inside it.
The black eagle gazed at the fruit with longing in its eyes.
"Could they have been fighting that big battle over this thing just now?" Su Ye murmured.
"Little White, where did you get this? Is there any more?" Su Ye asked the white tiger.
The white tiger understood what Su Ye meant, turned, and ran into the cave, looking back to signal for him to follow.
Su Ye followed the white tiger into the cave. It wasn't dry inside, and a faint trace of spiritual energy hung in the air. No wonder the white tiger had become a spirit; it was probably because it had eaten this kind of fruit by chance and absorbed the spiritual energy of heaven and earth in the air.
The cave was about seventeen or eighteen meters deep. When Su Ye reached the deepest part, he had to take out a luminous pearl for light.
An unknown green plant grew beneath a blue stone, giving off waves of spiritual energy from every part of it.
Two green fruits and one green fruit tinged with red hung from it.
"What kind of fruit tree is this?" Su Ye asked, his face full of questions.
After looking at it for a while, Su Ye took a small shovel out of the Immortal Spirit Space and carefully transplanted the fruit tree into it.
Looking at the unknown fruit tree after planting it, Su Ye seemed to sense it cheering, though he didn't know if it was just an illusion. Even its leaves seemed a few shades greener.
The white tiger could only watch longingly as Su Ye moved the fruit tree away.
Su Ye stroked its head and said, "It's all right. When they ripen, I'll definitely give you one."
The sun sank behind the western mountains, and the red evening glow dyed half the sky red. As the sun set, a man, a tiger, and an eagle were making their way down the mountain.
When they were almost out of the forest, Su Ye turned to the two and said:
"All right, go back! From now on, you can't show yourselves before people without my orders, and you can't hurt people at will, especially the people in the village at the foot of the mountain!"
Su Ye clearly felt the two beasts' reluctance to part through the connection in his mind.
"All right, all right. You two aren't allowed to fight anymore. I'll come see you whenever I have time!"
Su Ye said to the two beasts.
With that, Su Ye turned and headed down the mountain along the stream.
Only when Su Ye's figure had completely disappeared did the tiger and the eagle turn and head back up the mountain.
Night fell, and Su Ye was cultivating inside the Immortal Spirit Space.
Su Ye was like a vortex, constantly drawing the surrounding spiritual energy into his body.
After a while, Su Ye took the red spirit fruit out of his storage bag. Sensing the vast spiritual energy contained within it, he hesitated for a moment before putting it in his mouth.
The spirit fruit melted as soon as it entered his mouth, and vast spiritual energy flowed down his throat. Su Ye hurriedly circulated the Taihe Sixteen Grotto-Heavens, absorbing the vast spiritual energy.
After about a few hours, it was as though some shackle inside Su Ye's body had been broken.
Su Ye slowly opened his eyes, a flash of blue light passing through their depths.
"I've finally reached the Late Stage of Qi Refining," Su Ye murmured to himself.
The Qi Refining Stage was divided into ten layers. The first three layers made up the early stage, the fourth through sixth made up the middle stage, and the seventh through ninth made up the late stage. The tenth layer was known as the great perfection stage.
Su Ye had now broken through to the Qi Refining Seventh Layer, officially entering the Late Stage of Qi Refining.
After his breakthrough, Su Ye took a stroll around the Immortal Spirit Space and found that everything planted there was growing well. The unknown spirit fruit tree he had just transplanted in particular radiated vigorous vitality from every part of it.
The wild camellia trees had all grown considerably taller as well. Su Ye took the cyan longsword from his storage bag and pruned all their branches, which would help them put out new shoots faster.
Although Su Ye didn't usually drink tea, he wouldn't mind trying some spirit tea produced in the Immortal Spirit Space.
After finishing these tasks, Su Ye left the Immortal Spirit Space in a flash.
Early the next morning, when Su Ye arrived at the vegetable garden, Zhang Erhu had already fed the little wild boars their breakfast and was playing with the puppies.
When he saw Su Ye coming, he called out to him:
"Morning, Brother Ye!"
"Oh, playing with the dogs, are you?"
Su Ye teased Zhang Erhu.
After chatting for a while, the two went to water the orange grove with spiritual pond water.
When they were done, Su Ye took out his phone and called the boss he had pitched his fruit to at the fruit store before.
"Hello? Who is this?"
A middle-aged man's resonant voice came from the other end of the line.
"Boss, it's me, the one who came to your fruit store before to pitch a new variety of watermelon!"
"Oh, it's you. Sorry, little brother, but I don't sell fruit anymore. I've transferred the fruit store to someone else."
The middle-aged man on the other end said apologetically.
"How about this, little brother? I'll call the current owner of the fruit store and ask him. Your watermelons are so delicious that with me vouching for them, he'll definitely take them even if they're a little expensive!"
The man continued.
"Oh, there's no need to go to all that trouble. I've also talked to a few other customers, and they're coming to pick up the goods tomorrow!" Su Ye said.
"Ah, what a shame. Something happened in my family, or I'd definitely have bought up all your watermelons. I still think about how delicious they were, haha."
"If you like them, old brother, come by sometime and I'll give you a few!" Su Ye joked.
"Haha, it's a deal, then! Don't go back on your word!"
"Oh, I've got something to do here. If there's nothing else, I'll hang up now, little brother!"
"All right, old brother, go on and get back to it!"
"Beep~"
The call ended!
