He takes an interest in promising opponents rather than simply dismissing newcomers. He describes Lin Qing as interesting to Hu Liena and later demands that Lin Qing reveal all his hidden techniques. Golden Generation Training

On the eleventh day of Lin Qing’s training, Qin Wuj iu pairs them for what the narration identifies as their second match. Xie Yue breaks through Lin Qing’s bamboo defenses, but his attack triggers Lin Qing’s awakening of Bamboo Transformation. The new protective layer traps his right blade, allowing Lin Qing to strike his chest with cold Qi and win 27.

Xie Yue subsequently tells Hu Liena about Lin Qing’s bamboo-transformed arm and calls him interesting, helping draw her attention to the newcomer 28 29.

Ten-Thousand-Year Mantis Hunt

Xie Yue accompanies Hu Liena and Lin Qing to Spirit Hall’s North Hunting Ground, leading them to a ten-thousand-year mantis. He initially stands aside, but joins the fight when the beast dives toward him 29 30.
