Life in the Star Dou Great Forest

Xiao Wu grew up with her mother among the Soul Beasts of the Star Dou Great Forest. Spirit Hall hunted and killed her mother, who warned her never to reveal her identity to humans. Xiao Wu escaped without any belongings and retained that warning as a central reason for concealing her origins 19.

Taking human form left her original power sealed deep within her Martial Soul. Although she could cultivate among humans, releasing that power placed increasing strain on her transformed body's meridians 9 43.

Nuoding Academy

Xiao Wu met Tang San and Nan Feng while traveling to Nuoding Academy. She immediately declared Tang San her rival after confirming his Innate Full Soul Power, then teased Nan Feng about the usefulness of his Bronze Tower Martial Soul 6.

At Nuoding, she and Nan Feng established a regular dawn sparring routine on the back mountain. Her speed and flexible kicks challenged his defenses, while his Tower Suppression gave her a technique she was determined to overcome 9 13.

Their partnership deepened when Nan Feng returned injured from obtaining his first ring. He revealed that he knew her true identity, promised secrecy, and disclosed the unusual capabilities of his tower. Xiao Wu reciprocated his trust, treated his wound, and asked him to help her reach the seal restraining her power 11.

She later told him about her mother's death and her fear of humans discovering her identity. At graduation, she remained troubled by his refusal to attend Shrek, but accepted his promise that he would continue working toward helping her 19 20.

Shrek Academy and the Tournament

Xiao Wu joined Shrek Academy and became one of the Shrek Seven Devils. Nan Feng initially watched their development from a distance rather than interrupting their training 32.

At level 29, she sought him out near the Star Dou Great Forest to discuss condensing her third ring. The required origin energy threatened to overwhelm her meridians, and prolonged absences risked exposing her secret at Shrek. Nan Feng offered to guard the outskirts during the process, while Bi Ji agreed to provide life Spiritual Power to help stabilize her 43 44.

In the tournament final against Spirit Hall Academy, Xiao Wu attacked from the flanks, pressured Yan with Teleportation and Waist Bow, and helped knock the opposing fighters off the platform. She also used her braid to stop Hu Liena from dragging Tang San out. After Shrek's victory, she ran to embrace Nan Feng, having specifically asked him to watch her compete 52.

Jialing Pass

Xiao Wu reinforced Jialing Pass ahead of Tang San, who remained behind to help Xue Beng gather reinforcements. During the western assault, her Primordial World Seed awakened and evolved her Martial Soul into the Asura Jade Rabbit. Fighting under Nan Feng's Tower Realm, she helped rout the Holy Dragon Legion's western formation despite severe injuries 101.

She subsequently accompanied Nan Feng to hunt the 260,000-year Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. Her evolved Martial Soul resisted evil Qi, and she wounded the tiger's hind leg while evading its tail strikes 105.

After Spirit Hall's defeat, she replaced Nan Feng's worn red ribbon and promised to wait for his return. When he later returned to Holy Soul Village, her Asura Jade Rabbit had reached its complete form and she had entered God Level 119 129.

Tang San's Decline and Village Life

As Tang San's Sea God and Asura divinities deteriorated, Xiao Wu sensed their mutual rejection and repeatedly reassured him that his power did not determine her love for him. When he isolated himself on Sea God Island, she contacted Nan Feng and urged Tang San to accept help even if his divine positions could not be saved 103 158 168.

She stood beside Tang San when Nan Feng resurrected Ah Yin and shared their emotional reunion. Ah Yin recognized Xiao Wu from Tang San's old letters 172.

By her latest documented appearance, Xiao Wu lived with Tang San in Tide Sound Village, tending grass and preparing food while he taught children. Though her divine position remained stable, she supported his decision not to regain his godhood. When the Abyssal sleeper agent Old Crow arrived, she blocked his escape and helped prepare the village's defense 181.

Personality

Xiao Wu is playful, outspoken, and competitive. She calls Nan Feng “Tower Simpleton,” challenges new acquaintances readily, and insists that practical sparring reveals weaknesses that solitary training cannot. Even when Tower Suppression repeatedly impedes her, she treats it as something to overcome rather than a reason to stop 6 9 13.

Her teasing often conceals concern. She waits up for an injured Nan Feng, treats his wounds, and scolds him for fighting stronger opponents or neglecting himself. She also becomes jealous when he spends a day gathering herbs with Ye Lingling without inviting her, though she struggles to state her feelings directly 11 17 49 86.

Her confidence coexists with fear of exposure and loss. Revealing her Soul Beast identity initially leaves her visibly frightened, but she responds strongly to trust and keeps Nan Feng's secrets in return. With Tang San, she is direct and emotionally steadfast: she would rather face his declining power together than have him conceal it to protect her feelings 11 19 168.
