Background / History

Fractsidus captivity

Dania was taken by the Fractsidus as a child and grew up without knowing her parents. Much of her childhood was spent in a cold Void Matter pod or an isolated room, interrupted by experiments, punishment, and the president’s attempts to indoctrinate her. Her only entertainment in that room was the television game Lahai-Roi Blocks 25 63.

The president selected her as a vessel for Aleph-1 because of her compatible constitution and frequency—and because her deprivation had left her with a sense that life was meaningless. The project aimed to produce a perfect artificial Threnodian Resonator. Her survival took precedence over education, and she received no formal schooling during her captivity 12 25.

Although allowed to attend Stardust Academy and make friends, she remained under the president’s control. Napomo insisted that Dania needed to “have nothing,” threatening to strip away everything she possessed if she ceased to be useful 13.

Meeting Lu Guan

Dania had attended the academy for two years when she met Lu Guan. Their first confrontation followed his uncontrolled Resonance Ability turning her lunch into foul-smelling socks. She demanded compensation and asked for a cream-covered fruit cake, claiming uncertainly that it was her birthday 7 8.

His gift and attention quickly became important to her. Napomo noticed her attachment and threatened to expose her disguise, making Dania fear both rejection and retaliation against Lu Guan. When he confronted her distress, he accepted her eroded appearance rather than abandoning her. Their relationship developed into an Oath two months later 13 15 22.

Departure into Void Matter space and rescue

Dania’s attachment to Lu Guan weakened the emptiness that had sustained her resonance with Aleph-1. However, the Void Matter already incorporated into her body made separation dangerous: Hydra’s report stated that severing the connection would trigger irreversible internal erosion and the eventual destruction of her frequency 25.

Concealing this danger, she returned alone to the underground laboratory and consumed its remaining Threnodian-fragment doses. Unable to maintain control indefinitely, she entered Void Matter space, leaving her stitched doll and a farewell note behind. Lu Guan arrived too late to stop her departure 26.

Lu Guan’s subsequent intervention saved her. After he drove away the “big eyeball,” a blonde woman returned the sleeping Dania to him, and he confirmed that her frequency was stable. By the time they reached Jinzhou, Dania had retained her power without remaining subject to Aleph-1’s influence 29 39.

Jinzhou and the fight against Napomo

Dania accompanied Lu Guan to Jinzhou, where her unusual frequency prompted official scrutiny. A Black Shores examination nevertheless found exceptional stability and no risk of Overclocking 32 33 38.

When Lu Guan planned to lure Napomo into an ambush by impersonating Dania, she insisted on participating rather than remaining protected on the sidelines. She coached his imitation of her posture and movements, then joined the attack in her Form of Disillusionment 39 40.

Academy controversy and family acceptance

Rumors later portrayed Dania as an incarnation of calamity or an agent of Aleph-1. Sigelika and other students rejected these accusations and organized support for her. The Deep Space Union nevertheless attempted to take her into custody, and its committee proposed imprisonment or laboratory experimentation despite evidence from the Black Shores 49 50 54.

Lu Guan intervened, killed the member who proposed experimenting on her, and declared the committee’s vote invalid. He subsequently ordered the Deep Space Union renamed the Dania Union 54 56.

Dania also feared that Lu Guan’s family would reject her because she could not have children. His parents, Lu Yi and Yu Lan, welcomed her, with Yu Lan explicitly inviting her to regard them as her own parents 30 61 63.

Appearance

• Everyday appearance: Pink hair, pinkish-blue eyes, and a petite build 7 63.
• Undisguised appearance: Crimson and deep blue coexist in her eyes, while her hands and feet show Void Matter erosion. At her incomplete Threnodian stage, she has no black-hole-shaped crown 15.
• Tacet Mark: Located on her chest and normally covered with an ornament because she considers it unattractive 9.
• Physique: Soft-bodied, with relatively low muscle density and a weight below that of most people her age. The narration suggests Fractsidus modifications may explain why she gains little weight despite eating and sleeping frequently 49.
• Huanglong outfit: A pink-and-white dress selected with Changli’s help, worn with twin tails to resemble a martial sect’s junior sister 50.

Personality

Dania presents herself as languid, indifferent, and fond of sleeping. She dislikes exercise enough to regard following Lu Guan around at lunchtime as a week’s worth of exertion. Food—especially cake—readily captures her attention, though she sometimes denies enjoying treats even as her affection rises 7 8 10.

Her casual manner conceals deep insecurity. Years of deprivation and manipulation leave her afraid of abandonment and doubtful that affection will last. She studies and imitates other people to appear like an ordinary student, and initially believes that revealing her real body could destroy her relationship with Lu Guan 13 14 15 61.

Around him, she becomes affectionate, teasing, and occasionally willful. Although often portrayed as clingy, she is also attentive to his exhaustion and worries about his health. When he conceals a serious matter, she notices his changed behavior but chooses not to force an explanation 21 34 44 45 56.

Her fear of losing him also produces strong jealousy. Sigelika’s pursuit of Lu Guan turns their friendship into a romantic rivalry, with Dania becoming angry enough to nearly enter her Form of Disillusionment. Even so, reassurance from Lu Guan can quickly calm her 60 72 73.

Illusory Bubble
