I'm the Young Master. So What If I'm Arrogant?
Kexi strode briskly down the streets of Ragunna, in an exceptionally good mood.
With Phoebe's white stockings tucked in his pocket, the day he would leave Gundam was one step closer, and even the stray cats on the street seemed more attractive to him.
Selina followed behind him, her expression unchanged, though the weariness from having her mental defenses breached in the church still lingered in the corners of her eyes.
"Selina."
"Exist."
"Let's go to Margaret Restaurant, I'm hungry."
Margaret Restaurant is located on Ragunna's busiest commercial street, and at this time of day, it was packed with people during peak dining hours.
Kexi found a seat, picked up the menu, glanced at it, and casually ordered a few signature dishes.
Selina stood behind him, her hands clasped in front of her, standing ramrod straight.
Kexi turned around and glanced at her. "Why are you standing there? Sit down and eat with us."
"I'll just wait by your side while you eat, young master," Selina replied matter-of-factly.
"Come on," Kexi patted the chair next to her. "This isn't Montelli, there aren't so many rules here. Sit down and eat with me."
Selina hesitated for two seconds, but finally pulled out a chair and sat down.
She remained seated very upright, as if attending some formal meeting.
The food was served quickly. Kexi buried her head and ate a few bites, then looked up to see Selina still taking small bites of food, her movements as reserved as a first-time guest.
He smiled and pointed at her eyes with his chopsticks.
"You're just too dedicated to your work; that's why your dark circles are so bad, almost as bad as Zani's."
Selina paused for a moment while picking up food, but didn't reply.
Kexi took a sip of soup and casually asked, "By the way, where did Zani go? I haven't seen her all day."
Selina put down her chopsticks and remained silent for a few seconds.
She was injured and is recovering.
Kexi's chopsticks froze in mid-air.
"Zani is injured?" He put down his chopsticks, his brow furrowing. "Who could have injured her?"
He knew Zani's strength very well. Anyone who could beat her into a sanatorium was definitely not an ordinary person.
"The specifics are still unclear," Selina said. "It happened the day before yesterday, and she's still recovering."
"I'll go see her after I've finished eating." Kexi picked up her chopsticks again, and her eating speed noticeably increased.
After eating and drinking her fill, Kexi wiped her mouth and was about to get up and leave when her gaze swept out the window, and she froze.
There was a long queue outside Margaret Restaurant.
There were at least twenty or thirty people from the store entrance all the way to the street corner.
"Wow, what's so popular?"
At the end of the line was a small ice cream window with a sign that read out today's special flavors.
Kexi squinted and looked at the sign.
QQ Grandma's ice cream is so delicious it's almost unbelievable!
With such a thunderous name and such good sales, the taste must be excellent. As the young master of the Montelli, he's had his fill of good food and now enjoys the unusual; he's determined to try it.
He stood up abruptly, strode past everyone, and walked straight to the front of the line.
The first person in line was a young man wearing glasses. When he saw someone cut in line, his expression immediately changed.
"Hey, get in line! Can't you see everyone's waiting?"
Kexi turned her head, looked him up and down, and said in a tone that was so matter-of-fact as to be almost frank, "I'm the young master, I'll go first."
After saying that, he pointed to the clan emblem on his chest.
The bespectacled man's face immediately darkened.
"What happened to the Montelli Family Montelli Family? They don't have to wait in line anymore?"
The people behind them also started shouting.
"Exactly! So what if you're rich?"
"Everyone else is baking in the sun, why should you buy first?"
Amidst the chorus of condemnations, Kexi remained unfazed, even managing a smile.
"Because I lack manners."
The entire group fell silent for a second.
Everyone was speechless.
I've seen arrogant people before, but I've never seen anyone so arrogant and self-righteous.
They've already admitted to lacking manners, so what else can you criticize them for?
Ignoring the curses behind her, Kexi walked to the window and gave Margaret was still busy inside, a bright smile.
Welcome! What flavor would you like?
"That one." Kexi pointed to the sign at the door.
"Okay." Margaret nodded, then, maintaining her sweet smile, said slowly and deliberately, "Please read out the full name of the flavor."
Kexi's smile froze.
"What?"
"It's the shop's rule." Margaret's smile was flawless, her hands neatly folded in front of her apron, her voice clear and sweet, "Customers ordering this special flavor need to pronounce the full name aloud. Otherwise, we won't sell it to you."
"Really? Why didn't I hear the person who just bought it read it out?" Kexi bravely questioned.
Margaret smiled. "Because you lack manners."
Kexi:(▼DRAN▼#)
"If you're not buying, please don't inconvenience the customers behind you."
Kexi's eye twitched.
He looked around. The people in line were all staring at him, their eyes filled with undisguised schadenfreude.
He's the young master of the Montelli Family.
In broad daylight, in front of a group of people, he was asked to utter that obscure name of thunder?
Are you kidding me?
Kexi took a deep breath, stepped aside, and patted Selina on the shoulder with a solemn and serious expression.
"the Sai."
"Um?"
You read it.
Selina's expression instantly cracked.
"Young Master?!"
"That's an order." Kexi said without changing her expression, even emphasizing her tone.
Selina looked at him, then at Margaret, who was smiling and waiting at the window, and then at the twenty-odd onlookers craning their necks to watch the spectacle behind her. Her lips moved a few times, and the color in her face rose visibly.
"QQ... QQ Grandma..." Her voice was so soft it was like a mosquito's buzz.
"I can't hear you," Margaret said with a smile.
Selina closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and uttered in a deathbed tone, "QQ Grandma's ice cream is so delicious it'll blow your mind!"
Kexi nodded in satisfaction, then turned to Margaret and said, "Two, please."
After Selina finished saying that name, her face was so red it could fry an egg.
She kept her head down, staring at her toes, refusing to look up at anyone.
Margaret, however, remained unfazed and deftly filled two ice cream cones, handing them out the window. The ice cream was pale pink, sprinkled with colorful sugar granules, and looked quite appetizing.
Kexi took the ice cream and handed one to Selina.
"You've had a tough time. Have something cold to calm your nerves."
Selina gripped the ice cream cone, her expression as complicated as if she were holding a hand grenade.
Kexi took a bite, her eyes lighting up. "It's actually quite delicious."
He walked forward licking his ice cream, with Selina following behind, taking small bites, the blush on her face finally fading a little.
The people in line watched them leave, their eyes filled with envy, jealousy, and resentment, but mostly with a deep sense of powerlessness at the word "uncivilized."
Kexi didn't care about their opinions at all. "If you're so capable, why don't you be a young master yourself?"
You're the young master, yet you're even more arrogant than me.
One more thing, I need your help with urging updates, following, and book reviews. This is very important to me, otherwise I always feel like I'm playing a single-player game and I'll want to quit. If you have time, you can give me a free little gift to support me.
