Musical Upbringing and Montelli Recruitment

Selina grew up in a family that was neither poor nor wealthy. Her parents arranged lessons in music, singing, instruments, and etiquette because they hoped she would marry into a wealthy household. Her unexpected Resonance awakening instead brought her to the Montelli Family, where she developed a strong evaluation record and used the codename Iris for years 63 84 159.

As her wages increased, her father began gambling. He eventually lost the family’s savings and house, accumulated more than two million Monnaie in principal and interest, and fled. His creditors pursued Selina, while her mother required uninterrupted medical treatment to survive 84.

Appointment as Kexi’s Secretary

Carlotta assigns Selina to look after and protect Kexi. On introducing herself, Selina explains her healing ability and Montelli’s assessment of her versatility. Kexi immediately challenges her practical clothing, demands black stockings and a pencil skirt, and replaces her established codename with The Sai, claiming that Iris sounds insufficiently intimidating 63.

Selina assists with Kexi’s training under Carlotta, who authorizes her to shock him if he slacks off. She later confronts Camellya rather than allow her to take Kexi away without permission. Kexi intervenes to prevent a fight, but Selina follows them to the coast and remains nearby 64 65 66.

Black Street and Her Mother’s Care

Despite earning thirty thousand Monnaie a month and having few daily expenses at Montelli, Selina secretly fights underground matches to meet her family’s obligations. Kexi discovers her after she has won more than ninety consecutive bouts. Interpreting the secret work as disloyalty, he rebukes her and tells her to leave Montelli; she apologizes without revealing her circumstances 82.

After Zani questions his harshness, Kexi follows Selina to a nursing home. There, he learns that her mother’s account is overdue and that the staff intend to make her leave. Protecting Kexi and Joining Pleiades

Selina repeatedly intervenes when recipients of Kexi’s identical love letters pursue him. She holds off Augusta while he escapes, and he later pushes her into Lynae and Lupa’s path to gain another opening. When he subsequently threatens to send her to Avinoleum Seminary, she kneels and begs to remain with him; he withdraws the threat and reassures her 97 99 101 105.

During the clash with Phrolova and Scar, Selina returns to Kexi through a spatial tear, restrains Phrolova, and attacks Scar with her phantom orchestra. She then delivers Phrolova to Luna for training as a maid, warning that the captive is dangerous 108 109 110.

Kexi later forms Pleiades, an eight-member combat maid corps tasked with protecting him at his birthday banquet. Lucia becomes captain and Luna vice captain. Selina is privately upset when Lucia expresses the devotion Selina had considered her own special declaration 126.

The Jinhsi Assassination Accusation

After a fake Kexi attacks Jinhsi, Selina remains in Ragunna while the real Kexi hides on the Isle of Lament. She believes he is innocent and reports both Jinhsi’s condition and the elders’ challenge to Carlotta’s leadership. Kexi asks her to monitor Jinhsi, investigate Rover’s movements, and support Carlotta at the family meeting 141 150.

Selina announces that Jinhsi has awakened and can speak, helping Carlotta secure a postponement of the removal vote. She later relays the meeting’s outcome to Kexi and rejoins him outside the Everard Vault 152 158.

Confession and the Everard Vault

When Kexi warns that helping him could cost her place in Montelli, Selina declares that she would follow him even if they were expelled. She asks whether he would still want her beside him without her position or professional usefulness. Selina accompanies him into the vault to obtain Bloodleaf Viburnum for Jinhsi. After knocking Albert unconscious, Kexi orders her to take Albert and the two medicinal plants somewhere safe while he enters the Echo collection area alone. She initially insists on accompanying him 161.

Rejection and Continued Service

Following their reunion, Kexi assures Selina that he trusts her because she is Selina, not because of her strength. When she presses for a romantic relationship, however, he insists that they remain superior and subordinate and sternly tells her she has overstepped.
